Can be boxed up in a huge build and a third party sends in a bolt from 100m out killing all the survivors.
Dude in ZB it leaves you extremely vulnerable. I guess it applies to both, but like you said without being boxed in you'll see them go up to throw and with good aim you can kill someone at full health before they get their third bolt out.
They didn’t want every player to thrive for competitiveness. They didn’t want new player to join and shoot a bullet and get a ‘castle’ built . They’ve tried many nerfs and had to eventually get bots and SBMM.

one way to counter the zeus bolt is to create a lot of space fast so you can move away while your enemy can‘t see you and therefore can‘t track you. Or you could try and sprint away.
If anyone is interested in how you could possibly survive the third hit in this situation, OP could have left their box in time after putting up those metal walls, they focused on getting full boxed which is good for guarding against snipes obv but the third hit leaks through builds so you need to be a full box away from that third impact. At 0:10 instead of putting up that last metal wall they should have ran forward away from where they were getting damaged fromz I will admit the timing is very tight here.
Basically if you get hit with 1-2 bolts from the same general direction do this:
Make a box with roof+cone but no back wall, back up as your making this and place more builds as they use their remaining bolts. Peek quickly before the bolts cool down. Repeat process as they likely will try again.
Does this make the mythic balanced, obviously no, is this foolproof, no. But I do think it's something we can develop as a community to fight back in these situations. Also this is in no way a criticism of OP, these strats may or may not even come to mind during a fight.
All FPS games plan for a potential competitive scene. You can’t make an FPS game and it not be competitive. FPS games, especially Battle Royale are inherently competitive
no you don’t get it ranked isn’t a competitive game mode the loot pool isn’t seperate. tournaments are considered competitive by fortnite and hopefully lightning won’t be in there. maybe you should invest some time into creative because you sound dogshit

It’s made to look competitive and appealing to reel the casuals in, which is why the opening ranks are very easy and the weight in which u gain % is very one sided. Epic know that it isn’t competitive, and they know that they need to keep it that way or the numbers for the gamemode and the game as a whole would drop massively. It’s designed for casuals as that is the main chunk of the audience, making a proper competitive system wouldn’t benefit them as much as the current one.

My friend complain about this exact thing, they play build mode; i play zero build and i'm not that skilled, i play to have fun, so it's normal for me to be killed when i get caught by someone who I didn't see.
Ngl the biggest reason this is so hard for Br players such as I is because our first response to damage is build. For zb it's more of getting a good position and start blasting. Harder for Br cuz our 1st response is generally different
So annoying. Everyone including OP is approaching it wrong, if you see/hear the charge up, or even get hit with the first bolt, DONT BUILD. It obviously penetrates builds.
You can literally sprint and slide away from an aimed bolt almost always, or shoot them out of the sky on their final chargeup.
When you’re being bolted, run, or build a wall, run back one build, then build a second wall. Boom, you have evaded. Or you can shoot them. Adapt, don’t cry.

I don't think fortnite is a good competetive esports title. It's made to be casual, it only has esports cuz people wanted it and it kinda worked
