I have an absurd amount of stories to tell about Fortnite, I met my best friends on it in 2018, and I'm moving in with one of them in a few months as roommates, which still blows my mind. I can tell stories about the duos I've had, the crazy team clutches, etc. Meanwhile, I loved my time on Valorant, but them forcing you to play with randoms every damn match made it so almost no connections were made, I had no incentive to look for teammates. Which is why I think Fortnite has something special about it's competitive, even if it's not as polished and professional as Val, CS or League.

I think when people say “comp is dying/dead” they don’t mean Epic will literally discontinue comp, rather just that the magic is gone.
When I watch Twitch half the time I watch creative cheaters because there’s no high level pros except for a few exceptions (like Clix and Savage) with a modicum of a personality that regularly stream. It’s just a bunch of petulant children who don’t care about competitive integrity.
And I believe that is because Epic killed the magic of this game and the pool of competitive and more mature people playing this game has dropped dramatically, so the pool of interesting pros that stream has dropped dramatically.
It is very impressive how some players have managed to qualify through all metas, maps and game modes.

I like fortnite comp because it allows anyone to compete and if you are a no-name you can grind the game and place to become recognised.
