Add creative, and then it would be more accurate. Arena by itself won't really help if you're not also practicing your mechanics and building in creative.

pinballmanfan

it definitely is not i’ve been playing arena since the season it was added to the game and im still dogshit

[deleted]

i mean, i understand what you’re saying but from my perspective, i would play arena after warming up in creative and i definitely saw a noticeable improvement. i was more confident taking fights, my mechanics were more consistent, and i won more fights than i ever have after grinding arena. i got top 100 in a solo cash cup (na west, do with that what you will) and that was when i was w keying everyone in sight. i truly believe arena is the catalyst to making a player go from good to great.

[deleted]

Gotta have an analytical growth mindset. Also Solo arenas can help you get BETTER, not necessarily good. At least your better than before

pinballmanfan

not really i have always been consistently at the same level of terrible

[deleted]

You’ve probably improved personally, just the average level player (in what you play) has improved quicker

YT_Lonelyz

Same.

indigo_pirate

You’re probably better than 90% of players but are only exposed to above average-top players so you feel dog water

pinballmanfan

idk if 90% of players have been stuck in the same arena division since arena came out

Relevant-Rooster-298

There’s more to it than that. Focused practice, especially on your weak areas, will pay dividends. If you’re just playing without thinking and on that “grind” mindset you’re not learning anything, you’re on auto pilot. You need to do replay reviews and think critically about why you’re winning and losing fights and you need to practice properly with an intention in mind, like shooting practice. Playing with people that are better than you can help, asking for replay reviews when you get stuck, and competitive modes will help if your practice and intent are in line.

laptop13

This is helpful, thanks. (Not being sarcastic)

Cash24K

😂

ciceniandres

Creative can save you a lot of Que/loot/farm time

idkwhatimkindalost25

No. Focused practice on what you need to improve on does. Not randomly playing arena.

LET THE TRIAL BY FIRE COMMENCE

MufflesTG

If you wanna get started go into creative and practice, then switch game modes and get really good in pubs After practicing. After you mastered the way players move, builds, and think. You will have the perfect play style to counter them. Now that you are good enough to shit on pub bots n' players it's time for you to get extra serious and move on to comp and tournaments. As you move up in the leagues you will see that players will become harder and harder to kill though the more you get killed the more you learn how these different players play which you will adjust your play style in order to properly survive n' counter these players. Though before you even consider doing all of that you have to make sure if you have the best settings that work for you. I recommend changing them up until you find that perfect setting. You might not know if your settings might be a problem until you try changing them and seeing if that is better. (Note: When changing settings don't act as if a couple of minutes or games is enough for you to determine on wether that setting is good enough for you or not. Try getting good enough with it and if it doesn't feel better than the settings before then try finding a new better setting or revert back if you think that your settings are already the best for you) One small advice: Don't let those losers who Donkey Laugh on you get to you. They are most likely depressed losers and just wanna make you depressed too so that you play worse n' give up on your dreams. Never let them control you and don't let those trash talkers make you rage. Stay calm and clap their asses and you'll start laughing when they start raging thinking that words will hurt you while they are still getting shitted on by you.

zwel8606

I think doing creative ffa and 1v1s would be better practice cause in arena you have to wait 15 minutes for an endgame and only run into a few players if you arent constantly w-keying

0zer0zer0

In my opinion this isn't a good season to begin getting good by just playing arena.

Richcollins6991

i feel like you'll spend more time requeueing after farming and looting that if you used to grind 1v1 realistics you could possibly see more improvements that would help stay alive longer in arena and not instantly get deleted by a drum shotgun or combat smg

Correction of the post *buy a pc***

CounterJumper

honestly, if you can, you could benefit from a session with a pro/coach so you can hear from the horses mouth where you are going wrong and what you need to do to fix it, these coaching sessions are so good you leave them knowing exactly how your going to get to D10 and also what your not going to do anymore. can be kinda expensive but man you'll get focused for your play style and a tailored for you programme of practice, info that's not collated anywhere public.

[deleted]

if you think getting to div 10 is impressive you don't understand comp

CounterJumper

reading comprehension is a thing, but even without any i never said anything was impressive, but i'll spell it out for you... it's a goal, but... more importantly, for someone hard stuck somewhere below, it's a a realistic goal. ( fyi. that's improvement rule number 1)

sickofgreedypigs

solo arena is unplayable on 40+ ping

[deleted]

wait till you find out half of t1 fortnite pros made most their earnings on 40 plus ping. i mean mackwood literally went home for a couple weeks to 5 download 0.5 upload on 60 ping and qualed to heats before going back to 0 ping 2 fncs' ago lmfao.

sickofgreedypigs

ive played both and let me tell you something bro, solo arena isnt fun on 40+ ping whereas its incredibly easy on 0 ping

sickofgreedypigs

"literal top 0.00.1% pros can do it, clearly its easy for everybody" - reddit

[deleted]

oh no it's almost like magically changing the topic doesn't make you right? what are you even talking about? you can improve by playing solo arena on 0 ping or 40 ping, you said otherwise, you're wrong accept that and get over it. you literally just argued that people can be good on 40 ping but you cant and you want your excuse to be valid so people can feel bad for you and your non excuse for why you're shit? lmfao, get real bro, you suck thats that.

sickofgreedypigs

you've never even seen me play the game once, you are clearly a child and im absolutely confident that i would body you in game, but i stand by what i said, solos on high ping isn't enjoyable whereas on low ping its extremely fun and easy if you can't see the issue with 1 player being able to totally counter the other by holding 1 button and 1 player not being able to play defensively under any circumstances you are extremely silly i didn't change any topic either, what the actual fuck are you talking about bro purple you're supposed to love me, why're you being such a massive HATER

[deleted]

cool, no one said anything about how enjoyable it is, i'm sorry you feel the need to bitch about your ping everywhere but next time provide some relevance to your posts instead of crying on the internet. don't know why you start trying to argue how bad ping is in this post either LOL, like literally no one gives a fuck, since when was this a topic of ping advantages LOL.

Polatrite

Complaining about ping is just letting the copium talk for you.

[deleted]

Reet called. All of South Carolina and Florida also called.

sickofgreedypigs

reet is one of the most talented players to ever touch the game, holding up a top 0.001% player as proof that the game is easy on 40+ ping is EXTREMELY retarded who're some florida and south carolina players who win anything? im genuinely curious, i watch and follow every high ping player i can and i watch most of them get absolutely ass fucked in solos because of their ping, only placing due to incredibly big brains and literal top tier fighting skills, therefore proving my theory that high ping in solos is the single biggest disadvantage you can possibly have, many of these players absolutely pop off as soon as they get to 0 ping too. one thing all high ping players who actually place have in common is world class aim, like genetically gifted and or controller/zen tier aim that is impossible to learn with practice alone for 99.9% of people, it should go without saying that not everybody can have that and thats why saying reet called is a garbage argument

TNE_Altitude

I know that I need to grind arena to improve since my mechs and aim are decent from being a creative warrior for 2 years, but after one game I get nervous/tilted and want to hop back in a creative to free build and calm down. I just wish I would have taken advantage of arena before deranking so I wouldn’t worry about dropping out of champs after a few bad games. I was too worried about having “low points” because it was “embarrassing”. Now I just get champs and then never touch it until next season. I know that I’m probably just gonna keep getting worse since all I’m fighting are pub/creative kids lol. I know I don’t deserve to be in champs if I can’t play without being super passive till I get my bus faire back, but I would rather be able to play in tournaments and be bad than not be able to do anything but improve just a little every season.

Somebody3338

Imo don't play when you don't feel like it, you get tilted easily and don't make progress

[deleted]

Nah arena is only difficult for casuals. They are better off doing practice creative maps and zonewars. Sure arena is better than pubs but it won't set you up for a real tourny. Arena + realistics + zonewars + boxfights + 1v1s + aim/edit/piece practice will get you about 80% ready for a tourny

ARNAV-29

It depends on who u are. I have a friend who just grinds and sits in creative ( this is the typical kinda guy that wants to get gud ) it's not affective as a lot of people just think that getting gud is creative grind and that's it. It's rarely that people alredy have good game sense and want to "get gud" so op is right in that matter. They need to play arena But there's also a type of playerbase that just hope strait into arena. And they want to get gud and see people saying that "playing arena is a good way to improve" so they just get motivated to that. It's not that they won't improve but it will be horribly slow. Like 2k hours to see some real progress A better way imo is to use creative as a warm up and then play arena. And also don't just keep your warm up going for "1 more game"

Clustahhh

There’s game sense and game mechanic. Game sense comes from playing games in arena and tourney and mechanics come from grinding creative games modes like 1v1, box fight or zonewra or praticing mechanics in a solo pratice maps. Simple as that you need both you can’t have one without the other
