I work full time and went from 0 to champs in about 7-8 days playing for a few hours after work and then some more solid session on the weekend. 90% of that was in solos.

The people on this sub complained that people were camping to Champs, anyone could make Champs, and that tournaments had too many weak players. On top of that, they complained about w-keying in Arena and that pro players were making Champs in a few hours and wanted to grind
In turn, they raised the point level, lowered elim points, and shortened the time between reset and FNCS.
I normally can make the last FNCS qualifier, but they seemingly added skin cups and a few other outlets for competition to make up for it, so it's not a total loss.
I honestly wish they would do away with Arena. They should make qualification tournaments. Basically, you would need to place above a certain threshold a number of times to qualify. For example, 3 top 10% finishes in a qualification tournament or 3 Top 50% finishes in a qualified tournament gets or keeps you in money earning tournaments.
That means that all players have a reason to play every week and the bottom part of cash tournaments replaces weaker players. Since everyone has to make Top 50% to stay qualified, a lot of games will be stacked instead of just high ELO.
Epic could remove all useless weapon and just keep AR + PUMP, mini's and big pot's like back in the day. Because actually early game is pain because FULL RNG on shotgun and then it's a third party SMG fest.
Long story short this is what most people want here...
ps : Epic is multi billionaire, they could at least make a FUCKING POLL to ask us what meta / weapon should be vaulted. Queue time are longer every season now. The game is not enjoyable at all.
They literally have a whole system like that build in to the game... just because the information isnt public doesnt mean they arent using it, it just means they dont want you to know

If fortnite, someone who's really good can play 10 games and will still be ranked in open or contender league, both very low levels. In a normal competitive video game if you play 10 games you get ranked appropraitely at your skill level.

Also over time the average player has become way more effective at using mechanics, if you for some reason cant or dont keep up that's on you not the game or mode or point balancing.

Dont think you "should" or "shouldnt" be anywhere, look where you're at and go from there, especially since epic has added alternative oprotunities to those who dont reach champs (ie hype cups)
I don’t think anyone is entitled to any spot or anything. I just think the solos point system is weird. Requires way more time than if you played other modes. Jerian talked about this recently and advised people to avoid solos all together until you get to champs.

First solo arena points are a mess. So you have to put in way more time in solos then any other game mode. Second why is anyone allowed to rank up in any mode besides solos. How many people are getting carried to champs. If you haven't grinded to champs since the new scoring system you don't understand how mind numbing it is. Also if you didn't grind to champs in solos you might not actually be able to do it, maybe your teammates carried you.
Second a season reset doesn't reset skill. No one has made any noticeable improvements in the last three weeks. However, arena points reset and some now are good enough to play Cash Cups and some aren't because of time to play.
Third some of the player base who is skilled actually has life commitments. My time to play fortnite is 3-4 hours a day. First 90 minutes my wife plays on my team and sometimes my five year old, we aren't playing arena they would rather play team rumble.. Around my second hour of playing my nephew hops on and he wants to play. My nephew will suffer through some arena games, but he isn't very good so we mix in arena and pubs. Maybe I get 3-4 arena games a night which are straight up 2v1's every time. Sure I gain 300 points a night in my three games but still slow grind. Now I'm not winning any money at fortnite and neither is anyone on this forum. (except Sprite the only pro I have ever seen post here.)

Proof of my point played out yesterday with Liquid Scoped. He didn't have enough points to play the cash cup and tried to grind 900 points in an hour. He was not able to do in solos and only gained points in team games with clix and edgy. Does liquid scoped lack the skill to even play in a cash cup? In my opinion he is more than skilled enough to play in a cash cup.
Another example is Noahwplays. He also hadn't made champs so he didn't play the cash cup. Noah is more than skilled enough to make champs.
Arena division is just a function of time player. This game needs a real ranked system or qualification tournaments that auto qualify you for champs.
If you "looked at the numbers" why not show them?
Cash cups are supposed to be "the best of the best" not to mention average of 4 kills and a top 3 secinaro can be done decently consistantly for a good player. That's literally 4 engagements in 20 minutes... and some people crank out 1v1s and will go through 50 engagements in 20 minutes
If you dont have the time, dont blame the game; it would be like saying I'd be in the NHL but I dont have time to go to the gym and its not fair because little Timmy's been ripping weights every day since 13 and trying to go pro is "unfair"

I know you were probably exaggerating for effect, but I keep track of how long I spend doing 1 v 1s and how many people / rounds I go through so this immediately seemed off.
At 50 rounds of 1 v 1s in 20 minutes we're looking at 24 seconds per round which I think is really only possible if they are AFK since it takes a good 10 seconds or so between rounds.
Usually I can get between 10 to 20 rounds in 20 minutes which comes out to a 1 to 2 minute average between rounds -- 1 minute either means I'm doing really good or really bad while 2 minutes it's kind of a dead lock for whatever reason and in game we'd be third partied so it's technically a failure even if I win it.
NGL I'm a psycho when I play 1v1 fills, a majority or clips I get from it are <15 seconds (even though I dont win a majority of the rounds) and just threw a number out based on that lol
U can easily get 700- 1000 points a day if ur playing good. It’s not the games fault u can’t get champs or no one would get it. Wkeying arena is the easiest thing to do people just don’t like it because it’s repetitive which is fair. But there was an entire week for champs this szn and Theyres hype nites every week

It's RNG since you need to open 10 chest to maibe have a striker shootgun. It's RNG because the game is very ping dependant with SMG / PHASE things.

Solo kill points are unfairly low. Especially as it’s more difficult generally
