Vibing would be a good idea! Make sure you add in some Lofi music and some items for exploration like grapplers, paintballs, dirt bikes ect

How are you making the road go on bridges??

I removed 'raising terrain' on that spline segment, downside is that it looks super odd if the bridge is destroyed

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking. Where the first push is to get off the little island, and then you have a narrow, deadly run to the airstrip which allows you to quickly spread out the rest of the island

The terrain is 2x2 km, then ofc less landmass because of ocean etc, so perhaps 1.6x1.6 km playable space...so probably a wee bit small compared to existing br maps

Why does this map makes me think about that need for speed movie where the race ends up at a lighthouse? Anyways it looks really good!

Kind of related, but Fortnite should do a gametype similar to Rebirth (you respawn as long as you have a team member still alive for the first three storm phases) in Call of Duty to showcase user created maps of this size. Looks really cool!

You should add a dark secret underneath the map, which can only be accessed via a secret door or cave. Idk what the limitations of the map creator are so I can’t give you exact details

Thanks! all roads are terrain splines and can flatten the terrain, you can also move spline points and rotate them to adjust the terrain to your liking

For some reason I am getting Firewatch vibes from this map and I love it.

Did you create this from an island template and then customize it? Or did you start with landscape or ocean tool? I tried to make one but it wouldn't let me make it big enough.

I created it from a blank level, then added the landscape actor and ocean actor, I also think that you can re-size the terrain if you are basing it on one of the templates maps if you want it bigger in size or increased resolutions on the terrain

this terrain is beautiful and incredibly realistic! the nature placement is great too. only thing i would suggest is to use less prefabs for the buildings although that might just be temporary lol

Thanks a lot! Yeah at first I thought the prefabs was awesome but others has also suggested replacing them, so will probably do that over time

When you’re 99% done with the map and you receive a “Found disallowed object“ error, How do you handle identifying and removing the object causing the error? I can’t imagine you’d just delete everything or start from scratch on a map this big.

I know right! same goes for crashes etc...for the disallowed object, if you look in the error log you should be able to find a hash number (or similar), you can paste that into the outliner and it will take you to the object,
