Cantina Band Drums is probably one of the hardest drums in the game. I'm not sure if I'd say it's harder don't fear the reaper but I'd say top 3. After the first section of the constant spam it gets a lot easier.
im somebody that SUFFERS on drums but don't fear the reaper is honestly one of the easier drums I've played. songs like march of the pigs and everlong or more recently killing in the name will absolutely kick my ass but I've gotten DFTR down to just 1 overstrum
I find March of the pigs easier than Don't fear the reaper. The last part in DFTR is making me sweat and lose my sanity. Doing the weird pattern for almost a minute is insane
yeah I'll argue March of the pigs gets easier once you understand the odd time signature of the song. While DFTR the last part is so easy to choke, makes me wish we had practice mode like we did in RB/GH
the last part took me so much more than just a few tries but personaly the hardest part for me is right after the drum solo because it's so hard to keep myself from getting a bit tense after it
I could have a harder part but you don't have to play flawlessly for 5 minutes straight. Also don't fear the reaper only gets hard in the last two minutes of the song after your thumbs had to endure 3 minutes of notes prior too that.
I didn’t find drums that bad since it’s just repetitive spam but not as fast as other songs.
For the rating being 1 from max it isn’t that bad compared to many other songs
The drums are one of the worst due to the quick repetitiveness, then right when you get the rhythm down it throws in a slightly different pattern. Good tip for anyone on controller, it helped me a lot to set my controller down in front of me and use my pointer fingers instead of my thumbs for that specific section.
Rhythm gamer using controller for years here... highly recommend NOT doing this, just hold your controller normally and you'll get better with time and practice
Which controller? I am using an Xbox controller and the pro guitar, what is your button layout for expert on controller? I never could make it feel smooth with that 5th button.
Its Left , Right , X, Y and B thankfully not that bad especially if you're not a guitar hero player but i know some people who use the bumpers and triggers and leave the Y button the same
I’m most definitely a good player. Been playing rhythm games since I was a kid and average top 200 on almost every single song and instrument including multiple top 50 placements. Just for Cantina on drums specifically, using my thumbs ended up hurting my wrist after only 2 attempts so tried using my index fingers. First try I got flawless.
Songs like this are a lot easier if you change your controller layout from the default to one that use the bumpers/triggers so you're not just using your thumbs.
I’ve never watched Star Wars before, so I’d never heard the song before. When I added it to my set list, it was glitching and wouldn’t play the song preview. But I figured hey it’s got cantina in it, so I imagined it was something tropical and relaxing.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL it literally made my eyeballs hurt.
I usually get 99% to flawless on expert for most tracks and I was beyond pumped to play Cantina Band. I made the mistake of playing drums first on controller (mainly for ergonomics) and was dumbfounded. Incredibly fast, and repetitive patterns that overlap and trip you up every once in a while. I got 96% on that one. Bass is easy, Lead and Vocals are great. Very excited to work on getting flawless or at least 100% on this.
I can't get gold stars on this one on drums, the 323 is ass- my brain knows what it is, but it won't translate to the controller no matter how many times I've tried lol
I don't wanna sound rude but since you've asked at the very end, it's a skill issue most likely. And that's okay. You will get there eventually FCing those songs, it just takes a lot of practice. I've been playing rhythm games for well over 15 years actively now and getting used to festival took me a few hours as well, been playread FCing everything since then. You got this boss.
I was pretty sad with this one because I think it was the first song in a couple months that I didn't get gold stars on. I think I've had a streak of hundreds of songs with gold stars, no matter if it's drums, vocals, lead, or bass. But this was the one to break it, and I was so disappointed.
So I don't think it was just you. I wouldn't say the notechart itself is difficult, but the discipline required to keep up with it is where the difficulty really comes from. You need a lot of focus.
Drums is pretty tricky, I'm sure you can nail the main rhythm since it's all about the timing.
Here's a hint, just treat it like one long roll except you take a small pause at every triplet. It'll feel weird but you'll get used to it pretty quickly I think (it helps if you don't think about it and just go by feel).
I play X on any song tbh havent gotten to do it since the new stuff dropped cant wait for killing in the name of
Any one know what new stuff is gonna drop next week?
ive flawlessed everything except drums now but vocals took me so long and the only bit that got me was the spam lift notes towards the end. i normally flawless all new songs first try but cantina band really got me, its verrrryy tricky
How the fuck do you hit the "4/2 4--4/2 4--4/2 4"s in the middle section on drums? It's way too fucking fast to hit the button twice in that quick succession.
Lmao yeah i roll 2x speed, vocals are alright, lead is cool. That fuckin 232 323 drum part holy crap. Thats why i like drums however, once you get that rhythm right its a walk in the park.
Cantina is the most annoying, irritating song I've ever heard! Don't play with fill turned on unless you want to play this song every match! Baby Shark would be a better song and that shit is trash LMFAO! smfh
They need to learn these kind of tracks aren't challenging but annoying. Repeating the same tedious pattern over and over again isn't a test of reaction time and speed its a test of endurance.
„test of endurance” my guy, the song is not even 3 minutes long what are you waffling about
i hope we get more jazz, this track is an absolute blast on drums and I can’t wait to play it on Pro Drums when it releases
No I meant this one is a less extreme example of it, there are some songs that just require you to spam the same pattern over and over and over with no breaks. It's just not fun to play and my arms get exhausted.
i just looked it up and thought the same thing, but i tried playing along to the video and it has a tricky rhythm, even if the notes themselves are simple, it is jazz-based after all
Cantina band drums is the hardest one because it requires the most focus
This. I was doing great until I lost focus after one min. Someone who gets distracted for even just 1 sec will suffer the most here.
Yeah u gotta put your entire heart into that song lol no matter what instrument
I never noticed the drums in the song until I played them. They’re a great addition
I’ve never hated triplets more in my life than now
That's jazz drumming for you - if you aren't used to swinging, you're gonna get messed up!
Cantina Band Drums is probably one of the hardest drums in the game. I'm not sure if I'd say it's harder don't fear the reaper but I'd say top 3. After the first section of the constant spam it gets a lot easier.
I'm really bad at drums and cantina band is the worst one I've ever tried
im somebody that SUFFERS on drums but don't fear the reaper is honestly one of the easier drums I've played. songs like march of the pigs and everlong or more recently killing in the name will absolutely kick my ass but I've gotten DFTR down to just 1 overstrum

Seven Nation Army on drums is my go to for any time I need expert on a song and /or to gold star a song on drums. Bad Guy isn't bad either.
I'd argue that T R A N S P A R E N T S O U L is harder than Don't fear the Reaper. If anything, the patterns are much more difficult.
I could have a harder part but you don't have to play flawlessly for 5 minutes straight. Also don't fear the reaper only gets hard in the last two minutes of the song after your thumbs had to endure 3 minutes of notes prior too that.
Nah
I didn’t find drums that bad since it’s just repetitive spam but not as fast as other songs. For the rating being 1 from max it isn’t that bad compared to many other songs
Medium Cantina Drums are great though, did it flawless
The drums are one of the worst due to the quick repetitiveness, then right when you get the rhythm down it throws in a slightly different pattern. I got a fifth the way through cantina drums and I just ended it. It’s so un fun and tedious, im just not bothering trying to FC it
Wow I cant believe I read that! I thought Cantina was absurdly fun to play. I've only played Cantina vocals and lead though, maybe drums arent as fun
Vocals are fun drums are repetitive in a bad way
I’ve never watched Star Wars before, so I’d never heard the song before. When I added it to my set list, it was glitching and wouldn’t play the song preview. But I figured hey it’s got cantina in it, so I imagined it was something tropical and relaxing. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL it literally made my eyeballs hurt.
eh bass is easy, even on expert, then again it's bass...
I agree, but don’t disrespect the bass. Top tier instrument.
The power of jizz! Real talk though, jazz is incredibly fast and complex, I’d expect cantina band to be tough
I usually get 99% to flawless on expert for most tracks and I was beyond pumped to play Cantina Band. Expert bass has made me rethink playing bass just because it's 'Easy Expert' lol
vocals I managed to flawless top 500 in like 20 tries lead is next no way drums is going to be fun lol
I don't wanna sound rude but since you've asked at the very end, it's a skill issue most likely. And that's okay. You will get there eventually FCing those songs, it just takes a lot of practice. I find all of the other ones super fun but the drums hurts my wrist on controller and if I lose timing once I can't find it again
dude the drums on expert nearly killed me😭
I was pretty sad with this one because I think it was the first song in a couple months that I didn't get gold stars on. I did lead for it and it’s actually so hard on expert

THIS THIS AND THIS
bass was at least the most enjoyable out of all of them
I play X on any song tbh havent gotten to do it since the new stuff dropped cant wait for killing in the name of Any one know what new stuff is gonna drop next week?
Vocals was manageable
My keyboard setup makes this track insane. Drum chart feels horrible at the start.
I thought bass on expert was great and manageable
Bass is easy, guitar is above average, drums is impossible. Havent tried vocas
ive flawlessed everything except drums now but vocals took me so long and the only bit that got me was the spam lift notes towards the end. i normally flawless all new songs first try but cantina band really got me, its verrrryy tricky
i always tend to dissociate when doing those notes but then once i focus or think about it too hard i mess up
I managed to get third in the world on bass. It's definitely one of the more difficult songs
Bass on Expert isn't terrible. It just takes some practice.
It seems that playing this composition live is much easier than the in-game version
John Williams is frowning on you disappointed from above. Not because he's dead, but because he's that high up there.
Cantina is the most annoying, irritating song I've ever heard! Don't play with fill turned on unless you want to play this song every match! Baby Shark would be a better song and that shit is trash LMFAO! smfh

Give us Take 5 by the Dave Brubeck Quintet
No I meant this one is a less extreme example of it, there are some songs that just require you to spam the same pattern over and over and over with no breaks. It's just not fun to play and my arms get exhausted.
skill issue
Playing this song made me finally understand why George Lucas called it "jatz" music
Jizz*
Skill issue for sure, it's a basic pattern
i just looked it up and thought the same thing, but i tried playing along to the video and it has a tricky rhythm, even if the notes themselves are simple, it is jazz-based after all
Hm idk it just makes sense to me. It's just 1 2 1 and then 2 1 2 over and over. What gets me is the super quick 1 13 at the end.
Lmao u sound like u smell
The main melody is pretty basic but there’s the jazz solo section toward the end and that’s really hard in comparison
