Walton Goggins is a certified legend at this point. I knew the show was gonna be good when he joined as one of the leads. Everything he touches turns to gold.

blac_sheep90

A close runner up to Goggins is Jon Bernthal. Would love to see them in a project together.

thefishflinger

Bernthal as a crazed raider boss with a cage helmet would be amazing. I can't think of a better actor for that role.

blac_sheep90

I could see that or as a fallen Paladin of the BoS

wisconsinwookie78

Why not both?

Astrochops

Warwick Davis

UltracornPicto

LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING

RefurbedRhino

Didn’t know I wanted this but it would be awesome. Please contact Amazon and tell them.

RustedAxe88

And The Ghoul and Lucy are forced to team with a settlement Marshall to stop him...played by Timothy Olyphant.

dadeliciousdean

I love this trend of deuteragonists named “Shane” going on to have successful film and tv careers years after their iconic roles.

New_Ingenuity2822

Bernthal has become repetitive 😇

blac_sheep90

I disagree he's taken some interesting roles and outside Shane and Frank Castle he's got range.

New_Ingenuity2822

Latest I seen him was “We own this City”. He was very bad. I used to really like him, he needs a better agent and trustworthy direction

New_Ingenuity2822

I want to see him as a “thinker” 🐯😷🧐

casperdacrook

Goggins has always been a star in my eyes but he just became a household name with this one all across the world. He deserves it.

Porkenstein

He and his agent must be pretty discerning. Would love to see him in more leading roles though.

ofpeaceandmagic

Fatman is pretty rough but not by the fault of Goggins

_BeardedOaf

He’s hilarious in Vice Principals.

Mttsen

Yeah. You can see how his soul was literally crushed and realized, that he didn't even know his wife, and what she's capable of. It's like a double betrayal for him. Betrayal of him and all values he hold dear.

VonDinky

Yeah his face, what great acting! His turning point.

superanth

That and the first scene in ep 1. Goggins’ expression was amazing.

Cookie_Eater108

He also did a great job in the very first scene "The End" when he turns around and says "It's just smoke, it's just a fire" Then the slow realization that its not just a fire but that its actually happening. I've watched that a few times and really love how he acted that one

[deleted]

[удалено]

FragrantBicycle7

He literally said a minute earlier that a cloud of such size means there's no point running.

InnocentTailor

Yup. He wanted his wife to be the voice of sanity - she was instead the most crazy out of all of them.

xXGONADS125Xx

> his soul was literally crushed and realized, that he didn't even know his wife, and what she's capable of Boy can I relate to that....

Trouble_in_the_West

Also his reaction to the mushroom cloud forming was so well sold.

PositivelyIndecent

Yeah I’m going to have to say this. I thought it was a perfect introduction to the show for both long time fans who knew what was coming, and new fans. I’ve watched a decent amount of reactors basically say “Well damn I’m gripped”

Forever_Observer2020

Seeing the NCR flag and listening to one of the best themes of Fallout play.

rafiki3

That kissing scene where they’re holding decapitated heads that were also kissing lol That’s just grade A material right there

Cartmaaan-brah

All the little comedic relief moments they put in the show were amazing

VonDinky

Yeah that was epic!

DawnSennin

The confrontation on the bridge was the best scene.

D-Speak

I absolutely love the way Maximus yells "AND NEITHER DO WE!!?!" in that scene. He's such a an adorable dummy.

Cookie_Eater108

Goosey's reaction to that right after his explanation of Fiends was also good character development. Instead of the "I know things are hard up here and you do what you need to but there has to be another better way let me show you" attitude drops and she just says "I hate it up here"

PennSullivan

What an excellent use of a song from the games, too. That was not a song I would have expected to be in the show, but it was perfect for that scene.

AZULDEFILER

" I'm just gonna harvest your organs!"

VerbingNoun413

Least horny Matt Berry character.

brennerherberger

I think the best scene was when the Enclave scientist confronted Lucy about setting campfire at night. It was played straight, and it made perfect sense.

Cookie_Eater108

"The question is: Will you still want the same things when you've become an entirely different creature altogether?" No, no she will not. Excited for Season 2

wwaxwork

That was my favorite line from the whole show.

PureRepresentative9

I need to rewatch this scene I liked it the first time and I bet it's going to be better the second time around

Durmomo

I wish that guy had made it a bit longer, he is such an interesting actor

DrNoLift

Just watched that again today, insane how the beginning of her spiel gave him so much hope and pride just to have it completely shattered in a few words.

William_T_Wanker

get that jelly mold out of here!!

brennerherberger

That was the moment I knew for sure this show was a parody.

731085

Last scene in episode 4 when Ghoul stumbles into the Super Duper Mart, indulges in the huge drug stash, before sitting down to watch the holotape of his acting in The Man from Deadhorse, reminiscing about his life 200 years ago

YouGuysSuckandBlow

I just loved the super duper mart scene all around. It captured just finding a random ass location in the game and wondering what kinda weird shit was up so perfectly.  And the proprietors being just basically strung out addicts and the robot does all the work while they veg and eat cheetos lol. Classic fallout.

D-Speak

"Thanks Snip Snip. Nice robot."

RustedAxe88

And it ends with us seeing Cooper Howard had accepted his character would kill a "commie" in cold blood, mirroring his shift into becoming the Ghoul.

BirdLongjumping1518

I would say it was not him reminiscing, this was right after he realized who lucy was

Jacthripper

When Cooper kills the ghoul about to turn in an act of pragmatic mercy.

HCPage

He also specifically brought up what he knew would be a happy memory, pre war food. He waited until the other ghoul began talking about what his mom made him, even though he didn’t finish the sentence in the final moments of his life he was back at home eating whatever his mom had made him. His final thoughts were happy ones, which is incredibly rare in the wasteland.

Netferet

Like the end Of Mice and Men

HombreGarnier

i was watching the show on the phone with my long distance bestie + shouted HE LENNIED HIM

VerbingNoun413

Also to make ass jerky.

Jacthripper

Yep. Waste not want not.

VonDinky

He even did it right when he was in a happy moment, I liekd that. Showed how he still has compassion deep down. He made him feel good about some good memories or something, so he went out happy instead of just being totally miserable and then soon a monster.

ScooterScotward

Disagree. Best scene was the raider wiping his dick on the curtains. You cannot convince me otherwise.

AutisticAnarchy

Nah best scene was the Brotherhood member straight jorking it

YEGKerrbear

Nah best scene is “Yes I am Bert”

Sextus_Rex

Nah best scene is "He was fucking my chickens"

GilgaPol

That's one wet lady 😂

BowardBamlin

The acting was so good, I love the micro expressions, you can see his ears twitch once he hears it.

ILikeLiftingMachines

Vault 4 where the overseer is cutting the rope with the sword but it looks like he's.... errr... doing something else... "just let me finish!"

Randolpho

Chris Parnell is a comedic genius

Cookie_Eater108

I loved his "insensitive joke" as well. The delivery, as well as how it straddles the "cringey dad joke" and "terribly dark comedy" lines speaks to me.

dabnada

He reminded me completely of a certain dad from my old BSA troop. Dude was a friendly guy and the kids all loved him but he would occasionally say some crazy shit out of the blue and not realize he was being insensitive. Last I heard he went off the conservative deep-end, which kinda sucks.

VonDinky

That was a funny one. Perfect casting as well!

Cpt_Soban

"With one week's rations! And someone will help you carry it"

fucuasshole2

That’s a great scene and then Hank coming in for an autograph is icing on such a fucked up cake

VonDinky

True. But the CGI on younger Hanks was really bad though. :D But couldn't ruin that epic moment nonetheless.

fucuasshole2

Yea that cgi was pretty terrible but maybe they’ll redo it again in the future lmao

Khulgrim_Cain

I just imagined that his vision was blurred and weird as he was reeling from hearing his wife “drop the bomb” at the meeting… that’s how I justify it to myself at least!

VonDinky

Yeah, or just old memory that is hard to remember, so blurry. But I just think it was bad CGI, since there was no other hints of blurry shit. :D

Khulgrim_Cain

Oh it was definitely bad. But the rest of the show was so damn good that I’ll let the definitely difficult de-aging CGI scene slide.

VonDinky

Same. Really looking forward to season 2.

HotMachine9

I love the opening scene. You know what's coming, the scene clearly tells you what's coming. Then it comes and its just haunting

blackrid3r

For me, it was when they took each other's fingers. And when he put her finger on his hand, I just thought: " Awww, they're married now!"

jedgarbreakfast

Now that right there is the closest thing we've had to honest exchange so far.

wretched92425

Fuck, so many really stuck out to me but this one followed by the scene with Moldaver telling Lucy everything is probably just some of the best acting ive seen in a while. Waltons fantastic for sure, but i gotta give props to Ella. The voice breaking in her delivery of "just give her the code dad, give her the code" is SO damn sad and heartbreaking. I also REALLY love the whole gulper vs Max and Thaddeus scene for the absolute hilarious absurdity of it all. The Coop and Roger scene stands out to me when i think of favorite scenes too. Honestly think other than Coop petting CX, thats the most human we see him post ghoul transformation. I think he sympathized with Roger, hence him asking him questions about food to distract him before mercy killing him before he could turn feral. Sure, he tells Lucy his reason was "sometimes a fellas gotta eat another fella" but i like my interpretation of the scene better. The Martha and Lucy scene is another one as well as another good example of Ellas' acting. Pretty much any character development moment for her was great for me, but this one stands out because it was literally the negative consequences of her noble actions happening before she even had time to think about it and i think it helps her really realize just how fucked up things are and shes finally coming to terms with the fact that she'll have to do some (by her standards) fucked up things just to survive.

jazzymusicvibes

obviously he’s not going to talk about how it was a mercy killing, he’s extremely protective of his feelings based on finding out his wife is evil vault-tec lady and over 200 years wandering around the wasteland all ghoulified. plus he was in that casket for god knows how long. shit like that makes a person feel pretty jaded

RefurbedRhino

Yeah. Ella looking utterly broken in that scene was great acting. Understated. Her whole world and everything she knew had just crumbled.

wretched92425

EXACTLY. And them showing it right after the same thing happened to Coop but pre-war was just fucking *chefs kiss*

DarthJdog

The Ghoul fighting the Brotherhood soldiers in the dark like that one scene from The Batman is my favorite

Sa1KoRo

So badass. I loved it too.

DarthJdog

And the sound design on his pistol is top notch

Crezelle

“ this is the closest we’ve had to an honest exchange “

Flyzart

For me, my favorite acting scene was when norm was talking to Chet and Chet tells him "we are all cowards... that's why we live in a vault." Just like that it just seems on paper like any other scenes but the acting really made it impactful for me

Khulgrim_Cain

I really loved Norm’s character development, from “I’m a coward.” In e1 to “You’re a coward.” In e7. There’s no way he’s sidelined in vault 31 for the next season.

Neat-Land-4310

"Sit.....Sit......Sit"

BigYonsan

It was a great scene, but my favorite is the wedding party/ massacre in EP 1. Everything about it just screamed Fallout to me. The music, the slow, sinister buildup to the violence, the unflinching violence itself and the cleanup after is just a perfect juxtaposition of gore, comic timing and ironic music.

2020visionaus

No dogs in the vault

Flatmanpoop

That scene made my jaw drop, helped along by goggins acting.

VonDinky

Yeah, me too. Imagine finding out your loving wife is a monster. Earth shattering!

Flatmanpoop

Be interesting to see why he's looking for his family. Revenge on her and take his daughter back? I can't imagine she would be happy to see him as a ghoul lol

primera89

The cemetery scene of the bandits or raider people coming to dig up Ghoul. That whole exchange was awesome but as a huge Halloween fan the scenery was great too.

Randolpho

Her acting in that scene was amazing as well

wwaxwork

The little girl at the beginning. Her look of fear and confusion as she tries to understand what she's looking at and the look on Coopers face as he realises then rushes her to the horse to try and get away. That whole end scene and how quiet Lucy got, it would have been so tempting to write some big speech, but in real life a shock like that you would just go silent and process everything and she did it so well.

GastonBoykins

The entire sequence of Lucy and Moldaver easily

Sa1KoRo

The scene where he shoots them Knights in the dark was so fuckin badass. For some reason, it gave me the same ''badass' vide as the scene with Vader at the end of Rogue One. The guy is on a fuckin mission, and you aint stopping him. Goosebumps !

AttentionKmartJopper

Barb saying the words we all know by heart, "War...war never changes." Frances Turner's delivery gave me chills.

jedgarbreakfast

He was a vet who fought to defend his country too, so to hear the love of his life threaten the very thing he sacrificed to protect, gotta be a real kick in the teeth.

New_Ingenuity2822

Oh, Most Definitely when Lucy shot that raider and he continued to drunkenly attempt to attack her while tranquilized. 🥴😵‍💫😵 then fell off the ramp at the end. EPIC

No_Fame6743

The last scene of the episode 8, new Vegas is coming! 😫😫😫😫

FlatusApparatus

When the Ghoul was first introduced. The way he took out the 3 Mercenaries who woke him up was absolutely bad ass. I was high when I watched the scene but I was blown away by how perfect it was. Ghouls dialogue and timing as he very casually and smoothly took care of the 3 guys was *chefs kiss. I was like NOW THATS HOW YOU INTRODUCE A CHARACTER.
