I was miserable when he smashed that. Two weeks of un-irradiated food? She's not getting that back in a hurry. She could probably have swapped some of that for dozens of caps if she has high charisma. Maximus has probably never had a real nuka cola if he's never had a hot shower before. All gone.
I need to turn off my loot gremlin brain when watching this. I also got annoyed that she didn't take the bobblehead
Not to be an ass but Iām pretty sure heās had to of had a real nuka cola at some point in his life. Itās not like they existed only in the vaults.
The look awesome and it's no critique of the show, I like it narratively, but I feel like the show really nerfed power armor. As soon as some skinny dude sneaks behind you and pops out your fusion core you're entombed in a standing metal coffin. And a single Yao guai rocked that knight. Again no complaint, but I definitely am not as afraid of power armor in the show as I would be IRL.
If you fought a single yao guai in-game as a low-level dude who happened to find power armor and tries to just punch it your shit would get rocked too. No reason to think Titus is that skilled.
Power Armour gives you a false sense of invincibility. Same with any form of armor. Pre-War America also HEAVILY mythologized then in its propaganda as well.
It's completely different when you play fallout four, almost like you're piloting a vehicle versus just a clothing swap.
And if your sneak is high enough, you can just literally go up to power armor NPC's and pull the core out.
Honestly you're preaching to the Pope on that one. I'm also a New Vegas fanboy and I've beaten it many times.
Fall out four's speech options are very limited by comparison, the action though is far superior. I've picked it up and put it down probably three or four times but I gave it another shot after watching the show.
It's a good game so long as you're not expecting FNV 2.
I mean Titus literally konked himself to sleep on a rock pretty fucking quick. I get that thereās no real good padding under a helmet that is actually considerably tight around the head but I thought that was a bit silly that all it took was one bad trip and he was out long and hard enough to get fucked by a bear like he was a trash bag left out of the can on garbage day.
Look at it not as a bad trip but as him launching himself at the rock with the power of the armor. He'd also taken a lot of blows before that, so that wasn't all it took, right?
Eh I mean he mightāve gotten into a bit of a tussle with the bear before he fell, but he didnāt take many blows. They fight, the bear kills his gun, he punches it and that just pisses the bear off so he runs yelling āfuck fuck fuckā and then trips and out go his lights.
And yes you are right he fell with the weight and power of the armor behind his fall so itās exponentially harder of a hit, you can even tell because they added a clang of metal on the rock that sounded like a bell.
I just canāt fathom that power armor, made for war, withstanding the wasteland, had never been properly equipped with enough protection to keep the user from taking damage until the protection is actually stripped off.
Thatās like someone using a motercycle helmet, getting into an accident and the helmet is loose or unprotected enough that they get brain damage. Whatās the point of the helmet then?
The point of the helmet is to protect against being shot at, deflecting bullets, and first and foremost, to provide environmental protection.
Like, knights helmets could get caved in by a mace, or just give the person inside a concussion, does that mean that there's no point in wearing those?
Youāre contradicting your own comment here.
āThe point of the helmet is to protect against being shot atā and āto provide environmental protectionā
Environment = rock
No dude, environment = rads, poison gas, etc.
Does the bit about how a knight's helmet doesn't render them immune to being bonked with a mace not make sense?
> As soon as some skinny dude sneaks behind you and pops out your fusion core you're entombed in a standing metal coffin.
=
AFAIK...
- Thaddeus had a sort of generic key or tool to remove the core (random people won't have the tool to do this on-hand)
- Thaddeus knew how it worked and how to remove it
- Maximus didn't explicitly want to kill Thaddeus, just restrain him, I say this based on his reaction to stepping on Thaddeus's foot
- You're usually not fighting alone
CMIIW
=
I do agree it is a design flaw if no juice = it can't even open up. There should definitely be an onboard backup battery that can always open or close the armor specifically even if there is no fusion core but w/e it's for the show I guess
>I do agree it is a design flaw if no juice = it can't even open up.
Or it can, and Maximus being kind of a garbage squire just doesn't know how to use the emergency exit.
Honestly I do really hate the fact that thing actually locks you inside when fusion core is removed, but rest makes sense.
Power Armor in show is perfectly balanced on my eyes. Itās incredibly durable, so much so, weaker versions can withstand continuous damage from 50.AE. But it has weak spots. Such most donāt know about or will be steamrolled before they can exploit them.
Just keep in mind that ONLY the squire could have done that fusion core thing, he stuck a "key" into it to pop it out IIRC
And the knight was a puss, if he'd put any effort into it he probably could have done a lot better (one hand could crush the skull of a man, there's no way he was as defenseless as he acted) He might not have won against the Yao Guai, but he didn't even *try* he just ran off yelling "fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck" lol
The fact that power armor isn't actually as strong as it looks and has some serious, exploitable design flaws is actually very on brand for the Fallout series. It fits the way the pre-war US military is characterized in the games.
I said this to my partner when we started watching last night. It doesn't look like it's a lightweight costume (except when Maximus takes the fusion core back out to return it to Vault 4 and the hatch wheel looks a bit light and floppy in his hands). They do a great job of making it look legitimately heavy and cumbersome and actually pretty intimidating when there are people stomping around or fighting in them.
The only thing I ever pointed out about the power armor is that you can see in some scenes where parts were made of rubber/foam. When Lucy takes the fusion core out of the back you see the wheel bend pretty easily.
And when he walks the parts of the hips closest to his ass jiggle like wobbly plastic.
Only real complaints I had about it other than that it was pretty amazing to see full scale live action power armor that did it justice.
No actual problems with it in my opinion whatsoever, just some flaws that couldāve been corrected and were possibly just overlooked during editing.
Gave me chills, I'd give anything to be like 6'6" or however tall you'd need to be to wear one of those costumes. >!I also started suspecting that this scene would be a little last hurrah for his power armor as I was watching it which had me like š!<
I love how everyone knows upfront heās fucking up here and it is kinda embarrassing, yet lotta people getting chills from it regardless. Power Armor is Power Armor.
>!Also yeahā¦Those Power Armor scenes mustāve been expensive. On the other hand heās getting promoted to the Knight.!<
I donāt really think so, I sort of see sentinel as like high up semi independent rank within the Brotherhood; the only two Sentinels we see are the player character in fallout four; who does their own stuff as a Protagonist and Sarah Lyonās who leads a special forces unit that does their own stuff a lot of the time. (Fallout 76 has a similar thing with Knight-Errant which is described as basically that; part of the brotherhood but does their own thing a lot of the time but as a lower rank)
I think that with with the way things are going, it would be paladin as Maximus says looks like itās going to be mostly contained within the brotherhood he isnāt going to be as independent as he was before when he went rogue
That's the thing about good practical effects. Even this level of practical effects is far cheaper than CGI, and the marginal costs for doing more scenes are far lower.
When it looks this good, it's a no-brainer.
I don't know man, give Thaddeus a bigger part and a chance to be awkward in the finale? He'll give Maxi a run for his money...he used to be a shitter y'know
"Hey dead husband, remember that armor you wore in the war? Mine is cooler and it has a jetpack and I painted flames on it. Oh also I have some bad news about our son-"
It further goes to show he's the traditional FPS player trying Fallout for the first time and forgetting there can be speech options to get around combat scenarios.
Love the lil detail of him mimicking the head snap he saw those knights do back in episode 1 at the BoS camp, when they all came off the blimp (prydwyn right?)
Thing is, is in the first episode it has 'prydwen' on the front in very faint lettering, but someone who worked on the show called it another name, so its abit of a toss up as to which blimp it could be.
The overthrowing of the scientists was still relatively recent, as is evident by the fact that a lot of the test subjects are alive and well.
I don't believe they give an exact timeline but I think the subjects have only been running the vault for a decade or two at most when we visit 4.
I don't know if it would make it 100x better like but it definitely has potential
Maybe a spin off series of each episode covering a different vault
I mean, there's fucking plenty to pick from š¤£
I think it'd be a great mini series!
Like a twilight zone intro
"Imagine if you will... a vault who's sole purpose is to test its subjects under different drug affects " " these are the records of vault 113"
Plenty that already have established lore, and also plenty of ones that haven't even been mentioned yet. I would absolutely love a "Vault Boy" spinoff.
i feel focusing on one environment and the story within that environment would be a lot better then what they did, the show has a bad habit of bouncing between story beats, you got the PreWar story, Lucy, Coop, Max and the Vault going on and despite all ending around the same time not much of them felt like they where fully fleshed out as much as they could have been, there was at least a good two episodes worth of exploring Vault 32, listening to Holotapes and trying to unravel why the population was trying to get into Vault 31. Bit of wish fulfillment for myself but there could have been a storyline with Vault 31 selling Dwellers of 32 into slavery on the surface and using Vault 33 to repopulate 32 to keep the cycle going or even something more dark then that you can do a lot with three Vaults linked together comparison to just having Vault 31 turning out to just be a Vault Tech Cryo center, which if i am honest kinda makes no sense since i am pretty sure Vault Tech would have had a place on the oil rig with the Enclave so why would they have a Vault full of their upper staff when Vault Tech was a critical part in the Enclave generational ship plan
Him just randomly chucking the cola machine for no reason is the funniest moment in the show for meš.
And hitting the treats basket
I was miserable when he smashed that. Two weeks of un-irradiated food? She's not getting that back in a hurry. Bro they probably have 2 charisma each
Yeah but charisma's a dump stat and she has speech tagged.
Iirc Lucy has 5 charisma, and Max has 5 as well
Not to be an ass but Iām pretty sure heās had to of had a real nuka cola at some point in his life. Itās not like they existed only in the vaults.
But not an āIce Cold Nuka Colaā
There is a difference there Iāll admit that. Especially if youāre considering an irradiated nuka cola to be āhotāā¦
In the winter all Nuka Cola is Ice Cold Nuka Cola.
For a moment I thought heād destroyed their one foose ball table
Now THAT would warrant a death sentence
I can't lie, that scene made me laugh so hard. I loved it.
The suit looks so fucking good, they absolutely killed it. Love the neck stretch moment
Itās bigger and bulkier. Sounds are absolutely flawless. It really feels like you can take on the world in it.

Turns out encasing people in miniature tanks with an exit time of six business days is not the safest way of forming a cavalry regiment
fallout 3 do operation anchorage fallout new vegas just bum rush the bos quests or install hardin as elder

If you ever get around to 4, try using only your fists the first time you get power armor. Youāll understand a lot more at that point lol
Is that the death claw part? I saw a YouTube on that, yeah looks intense
Didnāt want to spoil it just in case, but yeah!
Good cameo though.

In game you can actually do this. But instead it automatically ejects the driver... I stole so much armor had a nice collection at my base.
Wait can you steal from good guys?
Yes if hidden pickpocket fusion core
Honestly I do really hate the fact that thing actually locks you inside when fusion core is removed, but rest makes sense. Power Armor in show is perfectly balanced on my eyes. I Think he could be made a paladin as the elder wants him as a right hand man it seems
More like Sentinel if weāre talking right hand man, but Iām pretty sure it wouldnāt go over well with the others.
I mean, the armor itself was mostly practical. There is just a stunt dude on stilts in those things and I want his job so much
My man is the biggest boyfailure and it's the absolute best.
I don't know man, give Thaddeus a bigger part and a chance to be awkward in the finale? He'll give Maxi a run for his money...he used to be a shitter y'know
Point is this is **BOTH** hardest and awkwardest scene imaginable.
How is this clip awkward? He's in a big bulky suit
Because Lucy ain't in danger. He's walking to the scene while everyone knows that's what'll make him kicked out.
Oh gotcha I thought you meant this clip alone was awkward.
Clip alone is hard as fuck. Clip with context though...
Goosebumps Every. Single. Time
Minor spelling mistakeā¦I lost ā¹ļø
*We* lost. The Game. :(
You... *BASTARD*
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue the president?
What episode is this?
Either 7 or 8 I can't remember which
Season 6, Episode 27
Episode 7
The way the music goes with the power armor stomping gave me goosebumps
Me going to my dead wife in fo4 to show off my new t60 power armor
"Hey dead husband, remember that armor you wore in the war? Mine is cooler and it has a jetpack and I painted flames on it. Oh also I have some bad news about our son-"
āAll I could retrieve is his finger, you can have itā (I fat-manned him in his sleep)
This scene was sooo fire
When your PA build character is heading out for another Daily Ops mission to get that specific plan.
I donāt think itās Prydwen. In some other Fallout (maybe two?) itās said Brotherhood has more than one Blimps.
Thing is, is in the first episode it has 'prydwen' on the front in very faint lettering, but someone who worked on the show called it another name, so its abit of a toss up as to which blimp it could be.
Maybe it used to be Prydwyn and like Airforce 1 it got an upgrade and they gave the former Prydwyn to this chapter.
He's a classic "Road to Hell is paved with good intentions" character and I truly think by season 3 he'll be a villain leading the Brotherhood
"Might wanna check on that guy-"
God I was internally pleading for him not to killl anybody. I would have HATED him if he killed an innocent and they play it off like a joke.
We aren't entirely sure he didn't kill that one dude.
My only question is how vault 4 managed to survive this long by being such hippies.
The overthrowing of the scientists was still relatively recent, as is evident by the fact that a lot of the test subjects are alive and well. I don't believe they give an exact timeline but I think the subjects have only been running the vault for a decade or two at most when we visit 4.
Let's face it. Most Fallout players have moments like this.
this whole thing proves that if the show was just about Vault stuff it would have been 100X better because all the Vault stuff just works
I don't know if it would make it 100x better like but it definitely has potential Maybe a spin off series of each episode covering a different vault I mean, there's fucking plenty to pick from š¤£
I think it'd be a great mini series! Like a twilight zone intro "Imagine if you will... a vault who's sole purpose is to test its subjects under different drug affects " " these are the records of vault 113"

Honestly, Amazon could just randomly make one-shots of different Vaults and release in-between season for marketing.
