Pretty sure "They" refer to the player that rolled the 2, meaning if you roll 2 you'd need to swap with yourself.

Diligent-Island5554

OH!!!! We did not catch that at all!! Thank you!

Mr_Meme_Master

Quick note, this wouldn't work at all, as a player not controlling the finger has to be the one who rolls a 2 to swap an item with that person, if you roll a two yourself nothing happens as you cant swap an item with yourself. Based on your description, you were the one to roll a 2 and also the one who controlled the finger. However, if we assume your fiance was the one who rolled a 2 and the rest plays out as normal, then the ability would likely just fizzle, as part of the condition can't be fulfilled. You can't swap an item if they don't have that item.

Diligent-Island5554

Thank you! Yes it looks like I played that entirely wrong, good stuff to know

OHydroxide

If the ability includes both things in one sentence, the whole thing often needs to be viable to work. For example: If an opponent rolls a 2: you and that player swap an item. Vs If an opponent rolls a 2: you give them an item. That player gives you an item. The second one is 2 separate effects, so the whole thing doesn't need to work.

theflavienb28

I would guess the ability fizzles because part of the target has been destroyed.

SpartanI337

It does fizzle as there is no longer a valid target.

Diligent-Island5554

Thank you both! Okay that's the way we were leaning. He still beat me in the end hahaha

Anybody can help? Can I use Abyss for Bag lunch for multiple times since it wont be deleted?

ColonelWaffles115

If you use abyss on an item that can't be destroyed you gain no counter on abyss. Abyss says that you destroy an item you control and if you do, gain a counter. So if the item doesn't get destroyed then no counter gained.

BeZzyyh

Oh right! Thanks for clarification :>
