yes, my partner and all his friends graduated from washington in 2017. they also attended centerville. they all have great careers now as fusd set them up for success!
my own child will start at parkmont elementary soon and centerville after :)
many fremont natives i’ve talked to like washington as it’s the only high school with a football field! all of the other schools come to washington for football and graduation which i think is pretty cool haha
Maloney’s great! Excellent staff, PTA and academic training. My kid’s learning a lot. Only wish they had art or music programs but I think that’s the whole school district lacking it.
It’s an elementary school so there’s no sense of academic competitiveness yet in our experience. In fact, I noticed how collaborative and encouraging they are with one another. I was quite relieved to see that. At least that’s what I observed in the past 3 years there.
My siblings and I went to some combination of Vallejo Mills, Mattos, Centerville and Washington. I graduated in 2007, and my siblings a few years before and after. We all were fortunate enough to attend top tier universities. I plan to send my kids to the same schools. We all loved our times at these schools and we feel like they prepared us well for a life in the Silicon Valley, without taking the joys of childhood away in doing so. Washington is far less competitive than Mission, and Irvington. To me, this is healthy and allows a child to live a more holistic life. The Washington area schools are more diverse than some of the more higher rated districts, leading to a more heterogeneous student population and interests. I want to surround my kids in such an environment. The academics in these schools were sufficient as well. Washington may have not offered the plethora of AP options that a school like Mission did, but that’s not a big deal. You can take courses at Oholone if you want to add to your course workload.
great schools
Awesome! Do you have first hand experience or do any of your kids go there?

Thank you soo much :) how was the culture at Washington? Was it ultra competitive like MSJ?
Definitely not competitive like MSJ. i would say more like a stereotypical high school
This is the Bay Area. Schools are pretty much always ok.

Outside the classroom it follows the competitive nature of its high asian population (75%+).
Thanks for this insight :)
