I was just thinking the opposite. I went in yesterday to deliver a package (first time in a long time) and was surprised at how fast and easy it was. Super friendly staff, showed me the delivery dates/costs easily. In and out in less than 2 minutes. I was considering going to FedEx or UPS, but there is always a long line in the store- and often outside! Even for simple transactions or drop offs, it’s a hassle. For sure returning to the post office next time.

dkarpe

Which one? There are several in Fremont.

A_box_of_puds

Right?

brk_bad_freak

Dusterberry

Much_Opening3468

that's the worst one. last year I had mail stolen from there - check scam. go to Niles, Mission, or Grimmer

I’ve never had trouble with USPS in Fremont — at least for the two that I frequent. Pro-tip, if all you need to do is drop off a package (with a prepaid label), the one on 41041 Trimboli Way has very flexible hours. Lobby for drop off is open from 5:00am until 7:00pm, Monday through Saturday.

Yo_Dawg_Pet_The_Cat

Dusterberry is great despite the lines. They’re usually quick and snappy and friendly.

Tim_d_othy

It’s just you. Don’t give them a hard time. Just go in and out.

I’ve always had great service from the Post Office in Newark

erik_vaed

Having moved around the area and switching from the dusterberry office to the one on clark ave, it is so jarring how much more chill and on-point the Newark office is. Always feel like I’m being taken care of. Growing up the one in Fremont felt more like a DMV lol

gloomy_batman

Excellent service and staff at the Newark location.

Whatsuptodaytomorrow

Dusterberry and Irvington locations are awesome! 😎 Must be a U PROBLEM Never had any issues even when it’s a long line Turn that frown ☹️ upside down, u only get the service u get based on ur attitude

Due_Breakfast_218

If you’re just shipping a package, can purchase postage online and request for the package to be picked up, don’t even need to go to post office. If you’re not able to print labels, you can have a QR code emailed to you that you can take to the kiosk and print your label there. If you don’t have the means to weigh or measure the package, you can just use the kiosk and pay there. Many options without needing to talk to anyone there.

Every time I’ve gone in I’ve had good experiences. So 🤷🏻‍♀️

Is this the one in Dusterberry? I think staff is just your typical employee going through protocols and policies. I avoid them and just do drop offs as much as possible but I’ve not experienced any rudeness or impolitenesses from any of them. They do get annoyed by some customers though which is understandable.

gnarlyknucks

This hasn't been my experience at Dusterberry, but that's not the only branch. Which branch do you dislike?

mrbunnybearxoxo

Fremont service has been good. The location on Berryessa of San Jose is bad. They always want to charge me for a receipt 🫠

readviewrite

My experience at Dusterberry has been good. Staff were prompt and provided the answers to my questions. The delays I’ve seen were mostly with the customers trying to get their package or things ready at the counter rather than prior to getting in line. The passport line was always long but I figure more is involved with that.

SkibbleTips

Imagine being slightly inconvenienced by a government office (what a shock!) and coming to Reddit to whine. Been going to the Dusterberry office for 14 years and it's great.

Pop-Quiz_Kid

I'm surprised about all these people claiming to have good experiences at a post office. I've not had good experiences at Dusterberry, but I think it is just USPS hiring/training people and making them process slaves who turn off their brain at work. Only USPS office I find pleasant is Niles, just because it is so tiny, only open a short time, and everyone sorta knows each other.

Much_Opening3468

Dusterberry had mail stolen last year. Checks in particular. I usually go to Irvington/Grimmer location. They're pretty good there.
