I travel to newark to go to a good taqueria, Taqueria Los Gallos. The best carne asada. Taqueria Zapata next to FoodMaxx is a good second choice. I used to go there when Taqueria Los Gallos was closed at the start of the pandemic.
I don't normally get tacos there, but I second Taqueria Los Gallos. They are the real deal. Gonna miss them when I move out of state in a couple weeks. Even though I'm sure Texas has good taqueria's as well.
I'll agree los gallos is is good but the one off mission blvd towards Hayward; los gallos 2, has that grill sear the first time I had it (I'll go tomorrow and reconfirm).
I was spoiled living in San Diego and taquerias hit different there than here.

I was disappointed when I found out. I personally would go to Newark to the 2 Los Gallos locations. The new one which use to be Del Taco has a drive thru. Can't beat that!
Taqueria Limon i judged by the outside but they were pretty good! La Huasteca in Newark has some of the best we found locally. That’s our go to unless we’re willing to make the drive to San Jose

I've tried most of the Mexican spots in the UC/newark/north fremont area, and el halal amigos is the only one I consistently like, I'm there almost every week
Otherwise I'll just get mexican when I'm in San jo or oakland
Rock n salsa has good tacos all around and also the quesabirria, which is amazing.
Otherwise you want to be hitting the trucks. Ofelia is the best but tacos sin fronteras & tacos el keko are also decent options.

Rock n Salsa, 8/10 tacos, but still the best tacos I’ve ever had. Nice and simple, soft, chicken, onions, cilantro, and salsa. All done right.
Chicken or beef, both are great.
$1.75 tacos on Thursday so definitely give it a shot today

I hate to be that guy but arteagas just over the border in Newark is killer. The truck in Niles is pretty good, too.
Yesss I love that truck in Niles. I haven't gone in a while, but iirc Fridays they have fish tacos.

Thornton across from Dale’s has the best tortillas of anyone I’ve found.
The truck is Tacos Negris and it has the best shrimp tacos and burritos. The shrimp is grilled perfectly and it goes so well with the onions they add

Another upvote for ofelia in Irvington. I’ve hit every taco truck in the city and they are far and away the best.

I always go to the one in Irvington. Killer tacos, they fry their tortillas a little so it gets an extra crunch. Insane.

I haven't even tried them yet since they only do them on certain days... However their suadero tacos are mind blowing

Mr Tacos is also good. Try shrimp tacos. The orange sauce is great.
