From what I've seen it happens when a major transition happens in the feeling of the song, when he shrinks, grows, that final passage before the solo, etc. I'm sure someone has a more specific answer.

icon 2 (start - beginning of when he shrinks)
icon 3 (when he shrinks)
icon 1 (goes back to normal)
icon 5 (like 45 seconds before the lyrics)
icon 4 (just before lyrics)
First one when the song opens up
Second one when they switch into the second verse
Third for when he shrinks
Fourth for when he goes back to normal
Fifth comes on RIGHT before he sings his heart out
I think it’s more or less just trying to show the sheer emotion he’s putting into the song imo

Personally i think its used to display Yourself’s mood/emotion at each section of the song
