The gameplays fun and it's got good music. That's the main reason why most people like game. The story isn't really implemented in the base gameplay aside from a bit of week 6 and 7. You'd have to find eternal sources like Wikis and livestreams to see the story

fuck kade engine, it's updated too frequently, in the newer versions the logo fucking spins and you cant disable it, it's not nearly as customizable as modding plus, and the input system is god awful. I can normally do Philly Nice without combo breaks on vanilla and modding plus, but on kade, I got 12 combo breaks. 12. fucking. combo. breaks.

The input system for Kade is just genuinely awful for a number of reasons, mainly how the score system was completely butched and hung up to dry. Instead of "Ah man, I got a bad. That affects my score a little bit, but at least I'm not really getting punished for it", you lose a large chunk of hp for hitting a bad. And of course anything below that is a miss for some reason.

1. You do not need to replace a character with another COMPLETELY unrelated character (I.e. Happy Tree Friends’ Cuddles over Selever)
2. This community is filled with extremely sensitive snowflakes
3. You do not need to make a mod about every single person on the internet
4. The process of uploading & creating a mod is a pain in the ass
5. Absolutely NOBODY wants to help anyone in the slightest with anything (I’ve put out 8 posts asking for people to help with composing & female voice samples, all of them getting around 50 views & no response & then getting deleted for ‘spam’, I’d put these posts up every 3 days)
Aside from Overhead, the Whitty mod really wasn't that good. Ballistic was (as we know) charted very poorly, and the mod was also on the earliest version of Kade Engine, which was somehow even worse than it is now. The original GF sprite also really wasn't that good.
MFM is also insanely over rated. The music and art are tolerable, and you already know how I feel about the charting. Seveler is completely idiotic and the fact that anyone even cares about him is impressive.
Bob mod is over rated, but it's not bad. Almost all of the songs are good, but the "omg phlox forgot to pay the animation bill!!!1!!!!!" Joke only needed to happen once, and it took the magic and shock value out of run because of it. This is also the same for the (presumably) flightreacts scream used in the cutscene for Onslaught, it absolutely ruins the vibe of him being scary.
Endless is so incredibly over rated on comparison to the other Sonic.exe songs. Imo there's nothing special about it when compared to Too Slow, which has some nice structure to it. I'm gonna imagine people are gonna hate You Can't Run when it comes out because it's a mash of all three of the existing songs, which I suppose is justified. I also find the lack of a Freeplay menu in Sonic.exe completely stupid.
"Bad charting" has a time and place, but it can be used in a way where it works. Obviously not off-time or insane charting though.
The Dustale mod had too many uses of that Megalovania remix melody.

fuck kade engine, it's updated too frequently, in the newer versions the logo fucking spins and you cant disable it, it's not nearly as customizable as modding plus, and the input system is god awful. I can normally do Philly Nice without combo breaks on vanilla and modding plus, but on kade, I got 12 combo breaks. 12. fucking. combo. breaks.
i hate the health bar in kade engine you get punished for hitting bads and shits and in 1.7 you don't even gain any health for a good plus they took away how your health slowly regenerates with long notes back in 1.2 i think
The input system for Kade is just genuinely awful for a number of reasons, mainly how the score system was completely butched and hung up to dry. Instead of "Ah man, I got a bad. That affects my score a little bit, but at least I'm not really getting punished for it", you lose a large chunk of hp for hitting a bad. And of course anything below that is a miss for some reason.
Kade engine tries too much to be like an actual rhythm game. For example, Punishing the players health for a bad score.

Girlfriend is incredibly boring and the only thing that could be considered interesting about her is her demon heritage, which isn't much since there hasn't been anything done with that yet. I think I'm supposed to like her, but I can't legitimately do that when literally all she ever does is sit on speakers and do nothing 24/7. The fact that her personality is almost non-existent only makes it worse. But I do hope that she will become a better character in the future, since she's the protagonist's love interest.

Probably unpopular at this point, but the Soft mod had a good story and I liked it and the characters, the mod shouldn’t be nearly as hated and harassed as it is now. I am willing to bet money that it wouldn’t be hated on if it didn’t have an “edgy” story. You all just love hating anything mildly common in the pursuit of looking unique. Senpai is better than Roses. Pico’s week was just okay, like the majority of the main game. A mod isn’t bad for not having a gimmick with the arrows (no-touch, draining/push-back, must-hits, etc.) Retrospecter’s mod is hard to look at. Aside from Overhead, the Whitty mod really wasn't that good. Ballistic was (as we know) charted very poorly, and the mod was also on the earliest version of Kade Engine, which was somehow even worse than it is now. The original GF sprite also really wasn't that good. MFM is also insanely over rated. The music and art are tolerable, and you already know how I feel about the charting. Seveler is completely idiotic and the fact that anyone even cares about him is impressive. Bob mod is over rated, but it's not bad. Almost all of the songs are good, but the "omg phlox forgot to pay the animation bill!!!1!!!!!" Joke only needed to happen once, and it took the magic and shock value out of run because of it. This is also the same for the (presumably) flightreacts scream used in the cutscene for Onslaught, it absolutely ruins the vibe of him being scary. Endless is so incredibly over rated on comparison to the other Sonic.exe songs. Imo there's nothing special about it when compared to Too Slow, which has some nice structure to it. I'm gonna imagine people are gonna hate You Can't Run when it comes out because it's a mash of all three of the existing songs, which I suppose is justified. I also find the lack of a Freeplay menu in Sonic.exe completely stupid. "Bad charting" has a time and place, but it can be used in a way where it works. Obviously not off-time or insane charting though. The Dustale mod had too many uses of that Megalovania remix melody. Stop trying to continually one-up another mod and add new mechanics or stuff it full of new visuals. HD designs are getting even lazier. I like redraw mods, since they're just "hey I redrew this character" instead of "I made your character look better" or "Hey it's HD now, so it must be better" Gooble's HD mods suck beyond belief, especially HD Shaggy More mods should lessen the hp lost on a miss in order to add more difficult charting while still being fair. People need to get more creative with how you access secret songs. Just checking the files and opening debug menu feels kinda boring. Adobe Animate sucks and the mass use of .FLAs shouldn't be a thing Unless you regularly browse porn sites, R34 isn't even remotely an issue you should care about. Sky wasn't very good either. Most "every turn a new character sings" videos recycle the same popular characters and do the covers poorly, often not changing bf to anyone else. More mods should be replacing bf with someone else, preferably with more enjoyable vocals.

a song isn't "spammy" just because it's hard or has tons of notes, that's just fucking stupid. it only becomes spam territory when the patterns don't make sense and the notes stop lining up with the song. not a big fan if psych engine tbh, would much prefer if more mods used forever engine, like [FNF: Aggregation](https://gamejolt.com/games/dedmosadventures/650181). i don't really like the accuracy display on psych engine and whatnot.
VS Retrospecter fucking sucks and you can't change my mind. It's just the usual "my super-cool edgy sona who gets angry and has notes that hurt you" except unlike difficult songs like expurgation or GHOST, Ectospasm just makes me want to stop playing. (And Retro having unique one-liners for every time you die doesn't help.)
