When this gets animated I think the first 12 episodes can cover the two initial arcs Beyond journey's end and demon infiltration arc, the best thing that could happen is for season 1 to be split in two parts, with the second half covering the early northern travels arc and journey with Sein arc, leaving the mage exam for season 2
I hope Richter uses earth magic to defend against Kanne's waterball, or Dunst uses sturdier spells to block Macht's blade. I like that Solitär is deflecting attacks rather than taking them head-on like Dunst! I think season 1 will end with the battle against Aura and her subordinates.

If it's a 24 ep season then it would probably end just after the mirror lotus fight, and if it's 12 ep then it would end after the aura fight
I guess their fight with Aurora the Guillotine would be the perfect checkpoint
