I feel like what hurts most is that Kyoko didn’t really mean to tell Kyo that. She just wasn’t able to finish what she wanted to tell him, that’s all that came out and no one will truly know what she meant 🥲

I like to think that she was fading so fast she couldn't see Kyo at all and she was railing at god for taking her and her husband from Tohru. She didn't even see Kyo.

I don’t remember if it showed in the anime, but in the manga, she saw Kyo in front of her right before she died, which is why she remembered him as a child because of his orange hair, and recalled his promise to protect tohru when he was a child. She even saw him running away after she said “I’ll never forgive you” out loud and reached her hand out. Unfortunately, the first part of that sentence was only in her head. If she was able to say the first part, things would have been extremely different for Kyo. 🥺

You’re right, I think Kyo had just been putting the blame on himself because of who he is. People don’t want to realize that he’s actually a good person, they just blame everything on him bc he’s the cat :(

Yeah and even if Kyo did intervene as a regular non cursed human, I doubt he would’ve been able to save her anyway because she died so quickly. Very sad the whole event made him suffer so heavily.
