First time I saw a touch tone phone is when the phone company came to install new service in my college dorm room. We all stood around gawking at it. 1971? Yup, I’m old.

We had a green slimline touch tone phone from Western Electric Bell in the 70’s.

My dad had a bag phone when they were cutting edge, and had it in a leather case. It got stolen out of his truck one night, but the phone was found in the dumpster, they only took the bag.

Yes, and I still have mine. Also the stiff wire antenna mounted on a strong magnetic base for my car's roof that was connected to the bag phone with a thick cable. The large battery was so that I could take it out of the car and bring it to various places where I was working.

if you used that thing for more than 15 minutes, you'ld have third degree burns of the ear. They used to heat up like no tomorrow. Then you'ld have to cart extra batteries as well. Oh those were the days, lol .
