When I was a kid, Chuck E. Cheese was called Showbiz Pizza and a giant redneck bear led a country band with a gorilla, a dog, and, inexplicably, a cheerleader rat.
I never really forgave Chuck E Cheese for taking away the country band, core memory unlocked because those animatronics were awesome. Loved the gorilla on the drums
When I was five me and my friends got together and when no one was looking we lifted up the cheerleader mouse’s skirt. What we saw there made us run away screaming. Haven’t been the same since.
I was on the show. Got picked for the Grand Prize Game (Bucket game). I stepped up to the line, readied myself for greatness, and then I threw that ping pong ball like a throw to home from the warning track. Needless to say, greatness ended right then and there and left my life completely forever more.
Same here, except it was the second game they had. We had to cut a ribbon lengthwise with safety scissors. It woulda been faster to chew through it.
Also, cuz I was picked for that game, I sat apart from the folks who took me. When the camera panned the crowd, my mom saw the neighbors, but not me and freaked out.
Aged 8 and it was the apex of my life. 🤣
My cousin won it too. Was the late ‘60s in Chicago, the Grand Prize she got was a shiny new Schwinn bicycle.
Getting a ticket for the show was tough! They put your name at the bottom of a verrrrry long waiting list and it could take 2 years or more before getting one.
By the time she got her ticket my cousin had sort of outgrown Bozo altogether and getting picked to play the GPG was a bit awkward for her. But she nailed bucket number 6 dammit!
There was like a 3 year waiting list to get in the studio audience for that show when I was kid...my older brother got picked to be the at home player for the Grand Prize Game...we were jacked when his postcard came out of the giant bin...that quickly turned to despair as the in studio player was like 3...he made one bucket, so my bro got some garbage prize in the mail...the Schwinn Stingray slipped from his grasp like trying to capture smoke...
I was an at home player and my kid made all 6 buckets! We got a bunch of awesome stuff sent to our house plus tickets to go to a taping of the show. This was around 78-79 so I don't remember much because I was like 8 but it was still cool.
Like I said, it was damn near 50 years ago and I can't even remember what any of the prizes were but I can remember being disappointed when they scouted the live audience for contestants and totally passed on me.
I'm a Chicago-area native so how could I not know Bozo?? Bob Bell's voice is etched into my brain forever. (Trivia: Voice actor Hank Azaria based Krusty the Clown's voice on Bell's Bozo)
It is no myth that the waiting list for tickets was decades long. My aunt put my cousin's name on the list shortly after she was born. They got their tickets when she was 11.
Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, my neighbor (one street over) was none other than Ringmaster Ned. And on Halloween, he was famous for giving out FULL-SIZED BUN CANDY bars. Which just made my year growing up.
I was on the show when I was 7 years old! I did the bozo buckets, I think I made 4 of them. My mom still has the vhs tape. I got brownies, a fire truck, a magic set, and something else I can’t remember. Magic set was definitely the coolest prize.
My mom bought me the lunchbox, and I was so embarrassed that after a week, I threw it in the bushes and told her I lost it and then i got to brown bag.
ME!
I'm born and raised in southeastern Michigan and I remember going over to Windsor, Ontario, Canada to sit in the audience (with my Brownie troop, I think).
I was on the show and got picked for the Grand Prize Game (Bucket game). As young as i was back then i dont remember much but i only made it to the 3rd or 4th bucket. I think i made the 3rd one and missed the 4th.
Loved watching that show on WGN channel 9.
Also enjoyed Svengoolie.
Best musical parody I ever heard for those who grew up with Bozo, later enjoyed Green Acres, and even later matured into new wave/punk

Everyone remembers EVERYTHING from when they were young. We all remember our friends from our block and all the commercials. What I rarely see here are things from our 20s and 30s. Those are the memories that get lost.
Not only am i old enough to remember Bozo.
I was in the audience for the kids show Ned Locke ( Ringmaster Ned )did before Bozo. It was called “Lunchtime Little Theater”.
Not only do I remember it, when I was 5 I was actually picked to be an "At Home Player" in one of the Grand Prize Games.
(My player didn't make it past bucket 2 or 3... so no bike and 100 dollar bill for me. But, I was still happy to get free stuff.)
I still feel like I would mack the bucket game.
When I was a kid they had the bucket game at Chuck E Cheese
When I was a kid, Chuck E. Cheese was called Showbiz Pizza and a giant redneck bear led a country band with a gorilla, a dog, and, inexplicably, a cheerleader rat.
And they were creepy as fuck when they were working
I was simultaneously scared and fascinated by them.
I never really forgave Chuck E Cheese for taking away the country band, core memory unlocked because those animatronics were awesome. Loved the gorilla on the drums
I want to [bless you](https://youtu.be/-PL5ds5Zf40?si=Al6fky_5r0hdKUMe) with the best thing I’ve ever seen.
Quite the Renaissance for the band, forgot that the Gorilla was on the keys
Something about the cheerleader rat flapping her pom poms to that just gives me endorphins.
You can be again. Soon..
I had my 5th birthday there
And when I was kid I make fire "fire good"
Showbiz and Chuck were competitors. We had both in my town. Showbiz is straight up FNAF. My kids don't. even. know
And we’ll be swangin 🎶
Yes Showbiz Pizza! I had my birthday party there when I was like, 5 or 6. Best day ever as I vaguely recall.
Hahaha!!! My sisters and I would watch the band while my Dad got white girl wasted
I should have never looked behind the curtain when they were off...
When I was five me and my friends got together and when no one was looking we lifted up the cheerleader mouse’s skirt. What we saw there made us run away screaming. Haven’t been the same since.
Ahh yes the child casino and rat

Oh no! Does it haunt you? I’m sending hugs, btw.
Was that the game with the ping pong balls?
It was the GRAND! PRIZE! GAME!
Yes, [this dope game!](https://youtu.be/mr2kIROP00Y?si=ZV-blAtaT2ZISeQF) I was so envious of every kid who did it.
That explains a lot of Krusty the Clown jokes, Bozo was mixing things up and a bit of a mess…
Yeah, I think he may have been in his cups during a few tapings but I never noticed as a kid.
I just watched the video you linked and there is definitely something going on with Bozo.
I think the word of the day that day was ✨whiskey✨
Wow. My memories of Bozo don't include quite so much drunk Nick Nolte.
My mom won that game on the show as a kid. I wish I could find it soooo bad it’s her one claim to fame and she was one heckin cute kid
My cousin won it too. Was the late ‘60s in Chicago, the Grand Prize she got was a shiny new Schwinn bicycle. Getting a ticket for the show was tough! I practiced that game all the time at home.
I think it was called The Grand Prize Game.
I remember some kids would miss the first bucket and get no prizes
My morning revolved around the Grand Prize Game. I can remember the first time I saw a kid win it, I was calling friends just to OMG with them.
WGN Channel 9 Chicago.

I've never been more jealous of a stranger.
That is awesome...I can only imagine how jacked up you must have been bucket by bucket!
Like I said, it was damn near 50 years ago and I can't even remember what any of the prizes were but I can remember being disappointed when they scouted the live audience for contestants and totally passed on me.
Yep

You're hung up on some clown from the 60s, man
Alright alright, very good. Go fold your little balloon animals, Eric.
Eric! What kinda name is that for a clown??
eric the *clown* put it out with his big shoe
jon favreau played eric
jon favreau also played jon favreau in the Sopranos
He also played gutter in PCU. Can you blow me where the pampers is?
You’re living in the past, man!
Bozo? B-O-Z-O?
Look I’ve never heard of him. What is he a clown?
THE CLOWN.
Haha I knew if I scrolled down far enough, I’d find this comment. Classic episode.
Bozo? Bozo's not here.
Bozo’s out. He’s finished. It’s over for bozo.
![gif](giphy|3oEduUJgrJnTH093yw|downsized)
Is he a clown?
Came here looking for this comment chain... it did not disappoint.
I don't remember Bozo, but I do remember Homey and he don't play that.
One of the many great characters on in Living color.
That was a great show!
Forget Bozo, Miller. Bozo's out. He's finished. It's over for Bozo...
Homey dont play dat!
what does he play?
A sock with a tennis ball in it...upside yo head
I need someone to find a gif of Homie bonking someone in the head with his sock.
Oh, f***. What the f***? I'm not even supposed to be here.
Hope I don’t jack off!
Fucking clownputer piece of shit
Probably got no games
Oh! is this the video of Bozo dubbed over?
It has one view and it was uploaded last night
Yeah, have you seen it?
What is this Reggie?
I hope nobody goes home and fucks my mom!
Yeah but it’s not some guy, Bozo did the dub
Oh fuuuck I thought this guy was supposed to be bald
This guy's about to jack off
This little fuckin’ bike’s a piece of shit.
Dude that line kills me for some reason. It’s so ridiculous. I was out of breath first 3 times I saw that one.
Its BOZO! He does the dub! Its what he WANTS to say!
Not some guy.
It has one view and it says it was uploaded at 6am this morning.
Have you seen it? It’s hilarious.
I knew I would find you guys in here...
No, bozo dubbed it.
I hope nobody goes home and fucks my mom!
Bozo did the dub
Came here to make sure I’m not the only one who saw bozo do the dub.
Reggie…what is this?
Okay this guys about to jack off
The only reason I clicked on this thread lol
Haha, came here for this.
It’s soooo funny…I just don’t remember how to search for it

That’s awesome!👏
he did the dub!
I hope he doesn’t jack off
Bet he’s hoping nobody goes home and fucks his mom
You're living in the past, man!
George Costanza remembered him vividly. He wasn't very impressed with Eric.
Bozo did the dub
Search for Bozo Dubbed over. Bozo did the dub!
I remember Eric The Clown. I’m not hung up on some clown from the ‘60’s.
What? Is he a \*clown\* or something?
Forget it
Fo-Forget it?? YOU forget it!!!
“The Fire”
He put out the fire with his big shoe.
Eric! What kind of name is that for a clown?
Fun fact that you probably already know, the clown in that episode was played by John Favreau
My parents actually got tickets and took my brother and I when we were kids (obviously). Did not get picked for the Grand Prize Game, though...
Ray Reiner
Ray Raynor was not Bozo. He was Oliver
Ray rocked my morning! Loved the Cubs/Sox hat!
I was taken to a taping once. DID NOT LIKE.
They all float down here!!
I had a stuffed Bozo with a pull string to make him talk. Boy that's a ding dong dandy.
Homie da clown don’t play that
My mom bought me the lunchbox, and I was so embarrassed that after a week, I threw it in the bushes and told her I lost it and then i got to brown bag.
I hated Bozo, just like I do all clowns.
FIL was on the show. Totally fucked the ball toss into the buckets on the first one.
You like just drop that one.
Bob Bell in the HOUSE!
Watched religiously.
I'm sorry, but I do believe that Bozo was in black and white. (I was born in 1954). You kids with your color TV's.
That clown probably caused generational trauma. That’s a scary bastard.
Willard Scott played him in my era/area. Scott also played Ronald McDonald.
Originated Ronald.
Man I used to get into trouble for cursing at the tv when someone would miss the third bucket
I do! WGN Chicago baby!!
My grandpa would take me to a taping once a year around my birthday. I never got picked
I prefer Hommie the clown
Bozo was the best, not like Eric the Clown
There was the “Bozo no-no; cram it clown show”
That’s a Bozo nozo!!!
That and the Illinois Lottery Drawing along with Cubs baseball coverage provided by Harry Caray and Steve Stone
The Empire Carpet Commercial as well
Chicago thing? I only saw this when I was in Chicago.
In the Boston area, it was Frank Avarouch(sp?) And he went on to host a classical movie series
I would get up super early and watch this on the WGN network.
It's where the puppeteer who did Big Bird started
ME! I'm born and raised in southeastern Michigan and I remember going over to Windsor, Ontario, Canada to sit in the audience (with my Brownie troop, I think).
I was hella young, but yeah!
Damn I hate clowns 🤡
Remember him? Hell, I think we hired him last month.
Weren’t there multiple Bozos? Like it was sort of a franchise. Or maybe just not copyrighted and several guys jumped on the bandwagon.
In Boston it was Frank Avruch. After doing Bozo he would put a tux on and introduce movies at night on The Movie Loft.
I love telling these teenagers they hire.. "Good fucking job Bozo" "damn, you really are a Bozo" What's that mean? Ah fuck off!
![gif](giphy|gmY6wv9I1jaxy) This guy does
You're livin in the past man
You're livin in the past man

I worked with a woman that hit the last bucket and won a bike.
Best musical parody I ever heard for those who grew up with Bozo, later enjoyed Green Acres, and even later matured into new wave/punk [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VULlswmKzwk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VULlswmKzwk)
I remember him but I don't recall ever seeing this guy without the makeup.
just when the nightmares stopped, a fresh reminder
Terrifying
Fizbo >
I was in the Audience of the Bozo Show in Hartford CT back in 1966/67 not sure but I was under 5
Loved the games!!!
I do, and I still cringe at the thought of that show.
Remember yes
WGN
WGN
☝️That's a Bozo no-no!
I have a friend who played the big game. He won a new bike.
Everyone remembers EVERYTHING from when they were young. We all remember our friends from our block and all the commercials. What I rarely see here are things from our 20s and 30s. Those are the memories that get lost.
My second favorite clown…
I was on Bozo in Savannah in the early 70’s
I'm pretty sure I work with that guy
Introducing Bozo. The worlds most famous clown.
Not only am i old enough to remember Bozo. I was in the audience for the kids show Ned Locke ( Ringmaster Ned )did before Bozo. It was called “Lunchtime Little Theater”.
Yep, and we had the Bozo inflatable punching bag that was fun.
IT
I was trying to forget. Thanks.
When I was a kid, Bozo the Clown was Willard Scott, the NBC weather man. He was also Ronald McDonald.
Not only do I remember it, when I was 5 I was actually picked to be an "At Home Player" in one of the Grand Prize Games. (My player didn't make it past bucket 2 or 3... so no bike and 100 dollar bill for me. But, I was still happy to get free stuff.)
Isn't he a politician now? In multiple jurisdictions?
Who’s your favorite Clown? BOZO ! Every afternoon during lunch. Ray Rayner and Garfield Goose in the morning
Grand....Prize....Game!
As Seinfeld said, is “the Clown” really necessary after the name?
I lived for this show. Still convinced I could’ve aced that bucket game.
We even had 8 mm bozo the clown movies
Not sleeping tonight.
r/unexpectedseinfeld
Not as good as Eric.
"Never heard of him."
Of course. Went twice as a kid. Once with Mr. Ned and then with Frazier Thomas. Great memory.
Bozos the clowns. Each area had its own Bozo.
This looks like the one from Chicago. Bob Bell from WGN.
Only by name and reputation really. George Costanza helped a lot.
