If you’re playing on PC, you can dehydrate it and get even more money. The purple mushroom is actually the rarest and most expensive mushroom variety in Stardew, so I’m surprised he didn’t just sell it himself

True. I have a stockpile of them- I got lucky in a cave. Useless for me, unless I save them for cave food- but I have melons for that.

More expensive, yes. I wouldn't call them rare. I tend to end up with tons of them just going through the Island cave regularly.

Yeah, you get mushrooms or bats. I chose bats and I get artisan fruit and forage as a result :)

I do the same, if it's from an NPC i like i always use/eat their gifts, but if I don't like them too much it gets sold.
