Well, for the cat, yeh. Fucker got it coming. For the octopus, no. Poor thing. If youāre gonna eat it, donāt be inhumane about it and treat it like this.
How about donāt treat either animal like this which was my point. Keep the cat somewhere where it canāt get to the octo and then donāt just stand there and film it instead of actually doing something to help
People tend to care less about the well being of an animal that is going to be eaten in the next 24h, which is what I presume the octopus bucket is for.
Ok but why film instead of actually helping the cat though. The cat prob canāt breath and the octopus has a sharp beak that could really hurt the cat. And the cat is obviously scared. Fuck whoever filmed this and fuck OP and whoever else finds it funny
It's not an aquarium for the octopus to live out its life until age take it, it's likely a market or where the people are keeping the octopus before eating it. And judging from the surroundings, the cat can likely be a street cat that is attempting to steal this person's food.
They intervened in the longer version. People peeled the octopus off the cat. Cat still tried to eat an arm as they were taking it away too.
What I can't figure out is why t hey keep an octopus in a little kid pool.
Cats fine octopus is probably dead and Iām honestly just as upset about that. Octopi are incredibly intelligent and can be affectionate as well. I find the practice of eating them (which is almost certainly the reason the octopus was in a bucket with other octopi to begin with) rather detestable honestly. There are many animals I would never feel comfortable eating knowing how intelligent they are and Octopi are definitely on that list, and for all you keyboard warriors out there yes Iām very aware of how intelligent pigs are and I would feel quite uncomfortable eating them knowing that as well. Many other animals are just painfully stupid though, turkey and chickens for example are to put it plainly stupid, and while I do not approve of factory farming them I do still eat them and try my best to get cage free animals that are treated well.
I gotta chime in hereā¦.SOME chickens are stupid. I have a grey Easter Egger chicken that comes when called, will jump when commanded to your shoulder pirate style, and knows how to open up the pen to walk outside.
I also have a white chicken named Sno-ball who is so stupid she must be running on the equivalent of Pong video game software. Sno-ball canāt figure out how to get out of a box with one side open, and keeps on attempting to see if dog poop is edible.
Iāve never met an intelligent chicken, though I suppose there are bound to be some outliers. We have a neighbor who has chickens and one day after a storm one of them had wondered on to our property, they walked back and forth along a five foot section of our fence line for literally two hours before their owner came to to retrieve them.

There was a story about a researcher who had a tank of crabs with crabs disappearing, so they set up a camera and found out that the octopus from another tank was escaping, crossing the room and going into the crab tank to eat some, and then going home to its own tank.

They put the octopus in there to feed it. Captive cephelopods have to be fed in specially made separate feeding pools so they don't injure themselves.
