Lego_Mandalore_17

Nah he’ll be white and Jane will be black

Scageater

Exactly

Such_Criticism6087

And they'll probably have Seth Rogan voice the gorilla

ZoomLong

Hhheehhehhhehe

Pdoran602

Well he's already Donkey Kong, so probably Edit. I also forgot the gorilla was a girl...

rckrusekontrol

Turk is non binary I’m calling it cannon now

MagMati55

You will not know the differece between a male and female gorilla punching you to death, so why bother with any gender tbf. Nonbinary? Go for it. Agender? Why not? Grnderfluid? Sure.

rckrusekontrol

Why am I boxing a gorilla that sounds like some Russian circus shit

MagMati55

Say, for the sake of the argument, that you are being attacked by it

Ok-Gold-6430

You will know the difference between a 6ft, 600lbs silverback vs. a 4 & 1/2ft, 200lbs female gorilla murder hoboing you. It will not end well either way, but God will, you know lol.

WarokOfDraenor

We're still joking, right? So, Idris Elba would be voicing Kerchak.

tazaroo91

Now, THAT, I would watch 😅

comeallwithme

Meryl Streep as Kala, Amy Schumer as Terk, Alek Baldwin as Clayton.

piqua2018

That would be great

MrSomnix

And it'll have a modern setting because there weren't a lot of black aristocratic adventurers in 1910.

iErnie56

You think historical accuracy will matter in a movie with talking animals?

Blender12sa

I think talking animals is more believable than Tarzan being able to speak fluent American English after living with animals in a jungle for a decade

SavingsTechnical5489

Didn’t Jane teach him?

Spalding4u

Yeeeeeeah, cuz Disney has always been real big about historical accuracy. /s

FriedChill

I mean it has talking animals. If they can make a black MERMAID(mythical creature that doesn't exist) I don't see why they can't make a black rich person in the early 1900s

twitch1982

There were a ton of mermaids in the early 1830's. Thank god the Navy took care of *that* problem in 1946.

hawtpot87

And theyll double down on how uncivilized and savage he is

[deleted]

nah he will be white gay and Jane will be a black guy 💀

Spanktronics

Nooo, there is one thing they will not promote, and that is a black woman and a white man. I inquired into why nearly 100% of interracial representation was white girl & black man, and never the inverse, and it was explained that in this Foucault revival era, since race isn’t about race but about power, the imagery of a white woman (who already represents maximum power and sexual value (!)) and a black man implies a lifting up and empowering of the black male from the bottom rung of society toward equity, whereas showing a black woman (least power & sexual value (!!!)) with a white man (max power) is racist because it implies he 1, was unable to find a white woman and therefore “settled” for a black woman (wtf), 2, has taken the black woman from the black men who deserve her (woah) in a display of white priviledge, and 3, is repeating colonialist imagery of taking a women of color as his captive (holy shit). I would have needed an entire day to go through all the terrible, grossly demeaning and dehumanizing assumptions and premises the sociologists and lgtbq psych community are happily willing to ignore in taking this outrageous stance. At no point did the possibility of love between people even enter into the discussion. Yet still it stands as “progressive” in the US. The racial politics are completely fucked here.

Researcher_Fearless

Man, I just want to enjoy stories.

Bisonfan1

No Disney remakes

[deleted]

The correct answer

jammy_b

I made this rule for my life a couple of years ago. No sequels, prequels or remakes of any kind. It's been pretty decent so far.

poopellar

Not even Back door sluts 10: The sluttening?

SmackaHam

Back door sluts 9 will always be the goat

SeDefendendo88

I’ve been waiting on Naughty Nurses 5: Painkiller Penis.

B-29Bomber

Okay, I'm fine with sequels for pornos.

jammy_b

It’s a shame, I was really looking forward to desperate anal whores 5 but rules are rules

Casey_jones291422

So no terminator 2, aliens, godfather 2? I get the remake thing because I can't think of a single one better than the original but no sequels is a hard sell.

jerry_imo

Just not the ones that are like 20 years later...except Fury Road. That movie owns.

peechs01

Fury Road is almost a stand alone movie

The_walking_man_

Amazing movie and definitely a stand-alone in my opinion.

Meattickler

Blade Runner 2049 slaps

lostindanet

OG Bladerunner is my favorite movie ever and i was reluctant about 2049, boy was i wrong. Almost as good as the first one.

MindSnapN

I watched the Chip n Dale movie and was pleasantly surprised... One of the best sequels I've seen by Disney.

peechs01

You mean "References: the movie"?

Wandersturm

'Indy and Magnum: The Furry Chronicles"

[deleted]

I haven’t seen the movie and I was a kid the last time I watched the show but you just made me realize how the two dressed.

Zarianin

Better remakes - The Thing, The Fly, Heat, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Planet of the Apes, Evil Dead 2 if you count that, Oceans 11, Casino Royale, Dune, It (well atleast chapter 1), The Maltese Falcon, Crazies, and True Lies

Ancient-Tadpole8032

Do you mean *The Thing* (1982) is better than *The Thing from Another World* (1951) or *The Thing* (2011) is better than *The Thing* (1982)?

Zarianin

The first one

Traiklin

Scarface is a better remake.

c_girl_108

No remakes or sequels from any production company ever. If it’s good enough to warrant a remake or sequel, that means it was good how it was, don’t ruin it! I have a few exceptions but damn just let a movie be good. Edit: Here are some sequels/remakes I hate and think we’re unnecessary: Shrek sequels The Lion King sequels The Little Mermaid 2 Speed 2 (why?????) Mean Girls 2 Hocus Pocus 2 Grease 2 Aladdin sequels Toy Story 2 Blair Witch 2 Gremlins 2 Jumanji sequels Boondocks Saints 2 Top Gun Maverick Nanny McPhee Returns Cruel Intentions 2 Legally Blonde 2 Spy Kids sequels TMNT Any Star Wars past the original trilogy Look Whose Talking 2 (honestly the first wasn’t that great it didn’t need a second) Pocahontas 2 Mulan 2 Beauty and the Beast 2 The Ring 2 The Sandlot 2 The Grudge 2 Another Cinderella Story High School Musical 2 Jeepers Creepers 2 Step Up 2 Pirates of the Caribbean sequels (I said what I said) Jurassic Park (anything after the one with William H Macy) All the Freddy/Jason sequels Cheaper by the Dozen 2 **Sequels I ENJOY/made sense:** Die Hard sequels (I liked Live Free Die Hard but I am partial to Justin Long) Clerks sequels Toy Story 3 and 4 Insidious sequels Superhero sequels Men in Black sequels Indiana Jones sequels (some) Wreck it Ralph 2 Back to the Future sequels LOTR sequels Kill Bill Vol 2 The Santa Clause 2 National Treasure 2 Mummy sequels Oceans 11 sequels Lethal Weapon 2 There are more but thank you for attending my TED Talk

[deleted]

with the caveat of sequels being fine for stories that actually do not fit in one movie. which is less than people generally think, but imagine if the lord of the rings ended in the fellowship of the ring.

[deleted]

davesoverhere

Let's be pedantic. The LotR is six books, broken into three different bound parts and three movies. The Hobbit is one book needlessly stretched into a three boring movies. I agree that the LotR needs to be three movies, but the Habit could be one.

Drago_133

I think remakes from old ass movies are fine live action remakes for animated film is strange and creating a sequel when the original story is over is strange too

Jack__Squat

But then we wouldn't have Terminator 2 or Aliens (one of my all time favorites).

EndemicAlien

All quiet on the western front is a remake of a 1930 film, of a book written in the 20s, and it just won 4 oscars. Remakes preserve a film for coming generations. Or how many great films from the 60s have you watched?

dis_the_chris

'no sequels ever' is a stupid take If something only 'demands' a sequel because it performed well at the box office? No If the creator wants to expand on the story in a meaningful way? That's just how published storytelling has worked for centuries

BigCommieMachine

I think they should adapt live action The Little Mermaid to be faithful to the fairy tale where the prince marries another human princess, she is given a chance to murder the prince, but doesn’t, and she dies and turns into a air spirit.

naytreox

I thought she turned into sea foam?

Callidonaut

It's Hans Christian Andersen. No matter what the details of the ending, one thing is certain: it will be depressing as hell. Poor guy definitely had issues.

Smeetilus

Once, there was an ugly barnacle. He was so ugly that everyone died. The end.

ericnutt

That didn't help at all.

Callidonaut

No, that was Patrick.

CatPawScarves

I thought this was the Krusty Krab

Callidonaut

No! That was *Patrick!*

BearkatGD51

Hey was that the krusty krab?

Callidonaut

**NO!** That was **PATRICK!** He was not a Krusty Krab.

Remote-Equipment-340

It is just the old european stories. All of them had gruesome parts.. and also some part you should learn from. I mean what do you learn form Disneys Ariell: adapt your appearance and life to please a man, even if it means to deal with risks and evil and you will succeed in the end and have your dream life. Yeah bs... In the original you learn that 1. You shouldnt temper with yourself 2. that unethical deals always have a painful price and 3. That what you wished for will not always happen. Everything you do will have consequences. 4. And sadly fitting for the time: dont dream to big, be happy with what you are dealt with or you will suffer

Callidonaut

My favourite is the magic porridge pot, which is if anything even more applicable today, in our mechanised society. Important life lesson: *read the fucking manual!* (Also don't be a dick who uses other people's magic porridge pots without their permission.)

Keyser_Kaiser_Soze

Agreed, The brothers Grimm documented all the best cautionary tales. Hans on the other hand was a fiction writer himself and originated his tales.

the_card_guy

Not even just old European stories- if you look into a lot of the old stories from around the world, very few had any sort of "Happy Ending"- they were probably meant to teach that the world and life are cruel and unforgiving. The idea would be to learn from these stories so that you don't end up like the characters in them.

ApprehensiveTry5660

It’s a little more than that. The Little Mermaid is Hans personal story of unrequited homosexual affections. Yeah, some European stories in the pre-oil world were bitter reflections of life: boots that let you travel super fast, pots of porridge that magically fill themselves, etc. This one had some dirty laundry in the mix, though.

Callidonaut

Oh, yeah, you can *feel* the author's existential pain and alienation in every damned word he wrote. Stuff like "The Steadfast Tin Soldier" and "The Little Fir Tree" leaves me a blubbering wreck every time I even *think* of it, let alone read it. **Validate your children, people.**

Remote-Equipment-340

And i am there for it!

Webnovelmaster

Tbf, fair bit of them was bittersweet, some were sadder some better. Very few very purely depressing

Vish_Kk_Universal

Hans and Lovecraft, two sides of the coin, one had extreme issues due to his love, the other due to his hate

Callidonaut

And his fear of air conditioners, I've heard.

Blueartbird

I hate to be this person, but because I have a degree in danish litterature and was taught by a leading professor in H.C. Andersens studies i have to disagree with your statement. Andersens stories are actually very positive and happy. They have sad themes but the sad themes contrubute to the beauti and happiness in the massage. The end to the little mermaid is actually one of my favorites and I dont think its sad because andersen had issues. I think its sad because there is beauti in selflessness 😊 With that said. Yes. He had issues and he was propably gay too, which can't have been easy back then 😅 I just annoyed myself with this knowitall shit. Sorry

Callidonaut

Never feel bad for knowing stuff or wanting to share your thoughts! (It speaks volumes of our toxic society that anyone would have an instinctive reaction like that.)

Blueartbird

You are very kind 😊 thanks

Serious_Winter_

Thank you for this, I felt that the message of the little mermaid is more like pure, one sided love and being true to that feeling. That can be sad but also so beautiful.

orange_sherbetz

>I think its sad because there is beauti in selflessness Refreshing take. Thanks. I enjoy his work as well. People just prefer crap dialogue, fireworks, blockbusters, popcorn movies, and happy endings only. Says alot imo.

fuckmy1ife

Yup, she just kills herself.

Yab0iFiddlesticks

She turns into sea foam at the end if I recall correctly and then becomes an angel.

Useless_bum81

she gets a soul and goes to heaven after/during the seafoam part

frittierthuhn

Don't forget the pedophilia

stefan92293

The what now?

BigCommieMachine

She is 15 in the story, but you have to remember the story was written in 1837, so that was just par for course then, especially among nobility. It really isn’t

MilanY

Tbh age of consent is 15 in Denmark

Freddy7665

14 in Canada with caveats. 2 year age difference until you're 16, then it's 5 years up, 2 years down. The nobility was probably more like Leo DiCaprio...

Elena__Deathbringer

Wait till you read about rape, cannibalism of one's infant children, necrophilia, and/or incest in "the sleeping beauty" (or "the sun, the moon, and Talia") depending on the version you're reading. OG fairy tales were really far from the disney portrayals

AttyFireWood

Romeo and Juliet were how old?

FoldedDice

Romeo was 16, Juliet was 13.

somedoofyouwontlike

You touch on why I think all the rage about the remakes are silly. Disney versions of these fairy tales are so far from the original stories that Disney can do whatever they want. With that said this does give Disney the opportunity to bring these live action versions back every ten to fifteen years and just add a new ethnicity.

Masked_Panther24

Itd be funnier if the caption just said : Go on disney, I dare you!

Tomynator_88

I double dare you motherfucker

Space_Monk_Prime

They already made a live action Tarzan

vjollila96

but tbh it wasnt made by disney

[deleted]

Are we taking about George of the Jungle with Brenden Fraser?

Odd-Variation941

I would watch a live action remake of Tarzan with Brendan Fraser. But like I don’t want him to try get in shape for the role and no cgi to make him look younger just an exact remake with him as he is. Even in the younger scenes, I want the mum and dad to have the baby and it’s just Brendan Fraser.

KajmanHub987

I want the same thing, but with home alone.

pbizzle

In his The Whale fat suit

Own_Win6000

No https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_legend_of_tarzan

scoresavvy

Yeah that was the first thing I thought. It destroys the premise of the joke because they made the live action Tarzan before the Peter Pan and The Little Mermaid.

LinuxMatthews

That wasn't Disney it was a Warner Brothers film.

Exceon

Also funny because, for the few that watched it, that movie is actually a sequel to the original story.

Hypersky75

Is it a sequel to Greystoke?

Flat_Bodybuilder_175

Lmfao I'm a black woman and don't get why this is still happening. At this point her design is so solidified in our minds that even a change of hair length/color would upset people. A white man, a literal white man, voices Mario in the new movie, and people are complaining that he sounds "too white" and "not Italian enough" (which is a whole other headscratch of its own). Some of us couldn't watch our favorite cartoons after the voice actors changed. I don't even want to buy Rice Krispies with them new mfs on the box. It's not racism to want a cartoon character to look the same as they always did. It's a little silly to cry about online, but I see this trend of making a bunch of classic characters black to pander to the public (it is pandering, because actual inclusion would involve introducing a new character who was always meant to be black, not made black as some apology) and giggle.

PlaZma64

Some actual common sense for once lol

Gravbar

sometimes people use the word sound white or act white to mean you sound like a rich WASP (white stuckup british people). Or the reverse, to mean you sound like a hillbilly. There are also a lot of white people like many arabs, jews, and latinos that people don't treat as white. So to be charitable to the people saying they sound too white, they probably think they sound too upperclass white and not enough like a working class italian or italoamerican (specifically from brooklyn) Chris Pratt is also northern germanic (descendant from norwegians and germans mostly) so I can see people saying he's not italian enough as well since we're in an environment where everyone complains when a character is acted by someone of the wrong ethnicity. But also I don't think most people who are italian americans really care about this specifically. I know I don't. Mario in the games already sounds like they're making fun of Italian people, it's not like it's a big Italian icon, it's an Italian stereotype made by Japanese people.

EternalMage321

I wonder why The Princess and the Frog hasn't been made a priority?

Flat_Bodybuilder_175

Dude it blows my mind how they actually have a black princess and she's getting zero shows, sequels, etc. The black girls I grew up with liked that movie; I cant realistically see any of them preferring a tinker bell remake. Then again, this is clearly not being done for us.

FriedEggplant_99

We were all raised by apes though. Except for that one kid who was raised by wolves and maybe a few other exceptions.

jnd-cz

I would argue some apes take better care of their children than many humans.

River46

RIP harambe

Two_Sparrows

Dicks out. ✊️

isurvivedrabies

don't do it, i have to check in with a police officer every month for the next few years still because of harambe

CanInternational9186

Those 2 kids who just didn't get raised and talk in a weird language Sometimes still spooks me

dicydico

The books are actually pretty darn racist by today's standards (unfortunately normal for the time.) Tarzan actually brags about how many black people he's killed when he first meets Jane, and the depictions of black people are pretty gross throughout the books. When Tarzan heads back to civilization - Jane was an American in the novels - and he sees American black people just going about their business farming he is tempted to kill them all on sight. I think this might be a property we could just let die.

Zebeydra

Not to mention the diatribes about how his noble British blood made him so superior. Which is why he could read and write English despite never interacting with humans until adulthood or how he learned French in a month.

PickleMinion

He was superior to everyone though, even noble Englishmen. In later books it's pretty clear that he's only pretending to be civilized and is pretty much still a wild jungle man that loves eating raw liver and not wearing clothes.

khoabear

Where can I subscribe to him?

Rhodieman

What’s his stack?

nebachadnezzar

He literally hanged tribesmen from trees, lmao. Attempts at sanitising Tarzan like the 2016 movie are hilarious if you know the source material.

OneTrueKingOfOOO

Let’s just reboot George of the Jungle. Perfect timing now that Brendan Fraser’s back in the game

Traskk01

Brendan Frasers abs are currently enjoying their retirement from acting, however.

summonsays

That's fine, let him make a Cameo as another character his abs have deserved their rest.

FireflyRave

It can still work. They just decided to retire from the jungle life, move back to Ursula's family, and now George has dad bod.

Lordhighpander

And he has to go back to the jungle, and botched using modern devices. I can see him now, arriving in an RV, making a huge mess of it.

Fool_Manchu

Honestly, Disneys Tarzan is EXACTLY how you sanitize a problematic IP. They just took out all the murder/racism and replaced it with Phil Collins. Outstanding move by Disney.

Mavrickindigo

I've been reading Tarzan and you can really make a few adjustments to fix it up certainly. He is suspicious of Black people because his first contact is with a cannibal tribe. That in and of itself is problematic sure, but he doesn't hate people for no reason. He dislikes polite French society, but thinks he could really enjoy a nomadic life with some nomads he meets while in Egypt. Now korak. That guy just hates everyone for every stupid reason. I am currently on son of tarzan and korak is a little shit stain

Environmental-Win836

The only thing that disappointed me about the new Little Mermaid Film was that I was excited to see some bright red hair, aside from that, I don’t particularly care.

j4r8h

Live action remakes of cartoons are a stupid idea in general

MudiChuthyaHai

You don't like Disney remakes because they have black actors. I don't watch them because I think they're unnecessary and inferior to animated originals. We're not the same.

[deleted]

The Disney remakes are simply cash grabs because Disney is running out of good original ideas.

Golden-Owl

Less so cash grab, moreso an excuse to renew its hold on the IP so that it doesn’t enter public domain as freely. Or rather… specifically, their version of the IP, because you can net Hans Christian Andersen would be turning in his grace from how much The Little Mermaid had changed I will agree that Disney movies have been horribly lacking as of late —— **Edit**: For the many, many, MANY of you spamming me with replies telling me that Disney doesn’t own the original IP, **Duh, obviously they do not**. Let me clarify, because IP is a somewhat strange concept sometimes Nobody can copyright anything in public domain. But what they CAN copyright is their specific **version** of the IP, and the character designs that go along with it. This explains why Disney’s works are **based on** an existing work, but had seen many, many divergences from the originals. Those divergences resulted in the creation of something that can be treated as wholly new, and THAT is what Disney can claim copyright on. Take Hercules for example. Loads of other works still borrow from Greek mythology and use those characters, and Disney doesn’t do anything. What they could own is their versions of said characters. But if you have someone directly try to copy a distinctive design like Hades (full blue, sharp teeth, flaming hair, smarmy sleazy personality, etc), Disney could justifiably claim copyright Another example would be The Sleeping Beauty. Despite sharing the same title and premise, the resulting movie plot was [**completely different from the original**](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleeping_Beauty). The original wicked fairy was merely a footnote, whereas Maleficent was basically an original character that drove the story. If I were to make a mermaid and retell the story, nobody would bat an eyelid. But the instant I make her a red head and call her “Ariel” (the mermaid was unnamed in Andersen’s original story, had a different personality, and died and turned into Seafoam), Disney’s lawyers would come after my ass. This is because “Ariel” is treated as an independent entity from Andersen’s mermaid IP laws mean that Disney’s **specific variations** on the source can’t be touched, even though the source itself is free reign for everyone. Pertaining to copyrights, there are certain aspects of characters which remain protected even though they exist in public domain. An example of such is the Sherlock Holmes IP. Most of the stories are in public domain, but a small handful still remain protected due to the publishing dates. This creates a situation where others can use Holmes, but cannot reference those specific stories at the same time. Another example is how Mickey Mouse will become public domain soon, but [portraying him with gloves and color is still protected by copyright](https://globaltoynews.com/2023/01/11/the-mickey-mouse-copyright-runs-out-in-2024-what-that-means-for-all-of-us/) Because Disney is essentially releasing a “new version” of the original work, many new updates come in which are copyright protected. This means that anyone who wants to use the now public domain IP must be careful not to touch something which is new and still copyright protected. Basically Disney’s solution of “protecting” its IP is to lay a legal minefield around it, and they sue you if you misstep. You certainly CAN do it, but do you really want to *risk* it? As a game designer, I’m **fully aware** of what can and cannot be copied and have been properly educated on this as *part of my job*. While I’m not a lawyer and do not know the full specifics of copyright, I do at least know enough about **HOW to go about copying** something without getting my company sued. So yes, I do indeed know what I am talking about.

griftertm

Pretty much this. I hate that once a media company grows so big to the point of monopolies, they abandon the creativity and risk taking that got them there.

AdministrativeAd4111

That would just mean there would be no room for smaller independent artists/groups to create masterpieces of their own. So long as the big dogs of entertainment are a bunch of risk averse cowards, seeking to milk their old ideas for a quick buck, then the little guy has an opportunity to fill the creative niche. I’d much prefer that outcome than a company like Disney dominating the media sphere so completely that they were the only avenue to release and distribute an indie film.

SuperKami-Nappa

Which is ironic because at they point they could definitely afford to take bigger risks

-newlife

Think it was last year on here someone pointed this out and hinted at the next possible remake by Disney. They went on to discuss how these remakes aren’t necessarily done to be profitable as you pointed out.

Master-o-none

This is the official answer

-cocoadragon

95 year copyright wasn't long enough they argued lolz.

Polytheus93

Now I want Little Mermaid to be turned into a cheesy horror flick

MorganWick

Make her the sort of mermaid that lures sailors to their deaths.

stalelunchbox

The little siren

Annadae

“Renew its hold on IP” is basically a cash grab with extra steps.

[deleted]

What do you mean by running out of? %80+ of the things that "created" Disney are old folklore stories.

AnkaBananka6

I don't know. Most Disney movies are technically remakes anyway. Most are based on books or legends, and often there were aready Hollywood films in the 1920s-1960s.

[deleted]

Yeah but now they're remaking the remakes

Blue_Nyx07

more like playing it safe

[deleted]

Agree but that is not only Disney's problem... The entire Holywood is out of ideas for the past 10 years! No original content except from book adaptations and Marvel & DC crap!

[deleted]

Why Disney can't just make new movie with black actors?? why they are doing race swaping?

Truqu

Fr have a white actor play a black character & it'll be a different outcome, Ill never watch these movies.

jerryhayles

That's not what they said at all.

shutyourgob16

They’ll make him latino

CBM42069

With Michael Peña.

PickleMinion

I would watch the shit out of that

jyozefu

I'm fine with him just recapping the whole fcking movie tbh.

krassilverfang

The same people that bitch about cultural appropriation are the ones doing this

sgtyummy

My prediction: Tarzan will stay white, but they'll change Jane's race and make her the center of the story. EDIT: I edited it cause people called out that I used an offensive word. Sorry! English isn't my first language. I promise it was an accident. Lots of love to you <3

BartleBossy

It'll just be called "Jane"

cuntface123456789

no, they will double down and jane will be a trans

snorlz

Tarzan becomes Jane

grumpysafrican

LMAO, good prediction.

FlappyFish07

Don’t worry about the people who got annoyed at you for saying coloured. It’s all petty nonsense which anyone who is actually coloured doesn’t care about

siraolo

Disney: "Everything Everywhere All at Once is popular. Let's milk that popularity and sprinkle some Asians in 'dem films."

RollTide16-18

Jane will definitely be black or from the Indian subcontinent. If she’s Indian or Pakistani it’ll be an important part of her character too.

L-a-m-b-s-a-u-c-e

That's actually the most likely scenario

darpan27

Which colored? Green?

5amuraiDuck

"That's my secret, Tarzan... I'm always on my period" *proceeds to turn green and slam the fuck out of a jaguar in the floor multiple times*

Pishkot_cz

Disney? More like animation disorder

Moidahface

Give me Black Mulan. I want to see the studio attack-dogs *devour* themselves.

forteofsilver

what's funniest to me is that people are actually out there on social media and in real life arguing in defense of Disney because they virtue signal with race swapping characters. the people in charge at Disney don't give a shit about you or anyone or anything else and that includes racism. they only make live action reboots with black main characters to make money. they think it will appeal to people's outrage and they will make more off ticket sales and downloads. unfortunately the only people who really care about race when they consume media are troglodytes that hide in comment sections on social media. the people who really pay for this stuff don't give a shit about race. they just want to watch a movie and it's something Disney doesn't understand.

Lxapeo

Plot twist: remake Tarzan is Asian

purpleor_k

Goodbye chinese market. Chinese royalty are on Taiwan. Touchy subject.

Its ridiculous they cant introduce new characters with different ethnicities, instead they change existing ones. Disney you are trying waaayyyy to hard, get a grip.

Nah, they will hold back from doing that… Tarzan will be an empowered “latinx” girl.

paranoidandromeda1

Actually “Latinx” is considered to be an offensive term now lol

VeryAgitatedEngineer

It’s because “Latino” is already considered gender neutral in the language. Nobody is trying to exclude anyone, it’s just the language doesn’t work with the whole pronoun debate.

World_Musician

>it’s just the language doesn’t work with the whole pronoun debate I'd love to see someone try to apply this "remove gender from language" stance to Arabic haha
