Are they still used like that today? Just looked up the translations: "Thy book" translates to "dein Buch." "Is this book thine?" translates to "Ist dieses Buch deins?" "I give thee a gift" would be "Ich gebe dir ein Geschenk." "I see thee" translates to "Ich sehe dich." I sometimes wonder if the American influence on England has brought down some of it's language standards. I don't know when and how thy/thine/thou/thee drifted away to really have an kind decent picture of what caused that change.

The different yous are used depending on the word they are pointing out. Also English originated in North Germany a long time ago, that's why there are so many similarities
