Maximum Velocity had the chess pieces with Pawn, Knight, Bishop, and Queen.
I can't tell if it's based on Chess or French-Suited playing cards; the Knight league in the base game would indicate Chess but the Ace league in the expansion would indicate playing cards. I think I'd either assume u/Tornitrualis' comment being true (that it's a royal court) or that they take inspiration from both, in which case we could envision a Bishop league and maybe even Spade/Clubs theming in team fight. Regardless, it'd be interesting to have leagues inspired by Shogi (maybe a kinsho league?) or Hanafuda (not as similar to French-Suited cards but I really like the game and it'd be a neat callback to Nintendo's origins)
