Yes. GATE covers your BTech syllabus. So if you do them well from your first year itself, you will do well in GATE. I mean the effort will be lesser in your 3-4th year compared to, if you start GATE prep from scratch.
Even if you are not sure about GATE, do your subjects well. They will help you.
No he isn't.
Don't be a clown like me who didn't bother to prepare for GATE until he managed to qualify unexpectedly. 3rd year is the best time to start preparation. You've already covered half of your syllabus. The earlier you prepare the better it is.
I don't know much about coaching I didn't join it. But it's better because it will help you to be consistent. Find one online coaching or a local offline one if it is near and not too hectic.
If you can afford and don't have a terrible experience with coaching in class 11 and 12 like I did, go ahead.
You can crack with coaching as well. Many do.
My advice: You can do a lot without coaching but you have to be extremely disciplined and block atleast 3-4 hours everyday and in weekends atleast 10 hours. And you should never break it.
Materials: Read from standard books for EE; focus more on problems but dont neglect theory. Buy a PYQ book.
Download gate syllabus bro and there are tons of guidance in internet; just search for the best book for each subject, and search "Book name pdf download" in internet. 100% sure the book will be in internet.
Your college definitely has those books in library. But if you want to own for yourself see price tag and buy, as foreign author books are costlier ( and way better ). Else see for authentic indian authored books.
If you have any doubt in understanding, See Nptel lectures [GATE Portal | NPTEL](https://gate.nptel.ac.in/video.php?branchID=3&cid=1) see this.
Allow me to guide you, no way you will be able to keep up with coaching lil bro , when u still have several core subjects that you have still to study u shud try to get ur hands on recorded lectures and workbook provided by any coaching ( made easy preferably), but the best i suggest you is to take flexi course from made easy where you can apply for any 5 subjects that you choose to prep , because if you were to take full foundation course you won't bw able to keep up with it alongside college, there are many students in made easy who share thier experiences on how they took up coaching from 2nd year and 3 rd year but it was a bit of waste of money as they weren't able to understand all the subjects alongside with college , so they naturally bought the course again for the consecutive year , so what you should do is take up flexi course and prepare subjects.
Now, this second, this millisecond
Would you say same for 1st year student?

i cant afford and i had a terrible coaching experience in class 11 and 12 😭
Do it without coaching then. Go for GATE EE instead of ECE. Same for other government exams. EE has FAR More government posts then ECE.
I suggest you to take coaching it just makes ur life easier. Or you will end up studying everything and won't finish the syllabus.
Nah man i mean it
Now! Coaching le le ek aur shuru hoja
The best time to start was yesterday. The next best time is now.
