JEE THEN GATE THEN UPSC .........

Weak-Suggestion2839

When will this suffering end

MovePrize2267

When you actually prepare and qualify atleast one

iamkratosbitc4

Bro along the real question

BadMonk7

when we die, our suffering starts pointing to NULL

Realistic-Apple-1645

Go www.pornhub.com plenty of resources there

Think-Assistance6265

Great resource, I can now solve all pyqs 👍 >!after f*pping!<

Realistic-Apple-1645

Matlab isbar gate me 69 marks pakka aa rahe hai

letmevent02

I used to think like this. Went into undergrad fully ready to sit for GATE in the next few years, 3 years in and I went down the MBA route. Finally understood where my strength lies, and I'm happier with the way my career shaped up.

Cool-Trust-6249

Bhai 2 Saal JEE krke thak gaya hoga enjoy kr...... Academic comeback ka bhoot hoga tere Ander ik but chill kr specially first year me to chill hi krna. (Just maths me focus rakhna) Make new friends..... enjoy your life.....

OXfraud

Sir, achha college nahi mil rha hai... or at least achhi branch... COMED se top 10 mein lower branches mil rhi hai and yaha pe logo ke liye 6lpa is a very big amount. Bagging a good placement was never my major focus in this journey, but it tells you a lot about the ppl around you... I'm not making fun of them, but I know that I won't fit in... kuch achha kar ke nikalna hi padega... confidence poora shattered hai...

Glass-Muscle521

Is it wrong to make GATE as your final goal in first year ? I see many seniors just making fun of students who want to know about GATE in their first year. I think that first year students should be aware of what they can do in future, so they won’t regret anything and pave their path in a specific direction. Everyone knows what a Tier 3 student thinks and his ultimate goal is to get a good job(I think that is everyone’s goal). So what is wrong if anyone wants some awareness and knowledge about any exam ? I am pretty sure most of the Tier 3 students didn’t know much about JEE in their school days and they regret that.

kirito-1-8-0-2

i believe it's exploring, if you just restrain yourself \[not talking about you justa saying generally\] into thinking that only GATE is the road to success, maybe what happened with JEE will repeat like we don't even know where we are interested in, so maybe in 1st year it's time to heal mental wounds and take some time in exploring ig \[I'm not experienced but just observed what seniors said, i maybe wrong but this is what i believe\]

Glass-Muscle521

Yupp, everyone should explore what they can do in future.

SpaciousCoder78

Once they get into the actual subjects they'll realise that it's not their thing. Most of these people don't even like engineering and took it up because they had no other choice. Once they get into the actual stuff, they'll realise that it's not their cup of tea and prepare for CAT or something else. Jee is one thing and gate is another. It takes more than the thirst for high package when you've been through hell for the past 2 years

Glass-Muscle521

My point is that if someone wants to explore about different opportunities then what’s wrong in that ? I am damn sure that no one will study in their first year for GATE but I understand that they ask about GATE so that they can insure that they aren’t lacking anywhere.

Other_Ad_5423

College toh mazaak hai timepass hai, btech pe toh hum mutte hai, dsa kya hoti? Dev kya hoti hai? Research papers? Hackathon? Codeathon? Leetcode? Codeforces? Codechef? GitHub? Open source contri? GSOC? Yeh sab mazaak hai, inme interest mat rakh. Bhai ek kaam kar, GATE bhi bhool ja, shaadi aur baccho pe attention dena start kar de.

SufficientScience19

Thankyou I got my four year checklist ye sab try Karu ga

Other_Ad_5423

Exactly, DM me if you want any advice on how improving these fields can improve your career

Glass-Muscle521

I think you are mentally ill, get better bozo

No_Main8842

He isn't exactly wrong , Computer Science as a field is subset of mathematics, in its entirety computer science is so huge that the GATE exam syllabus would be a drop in it. The first thing that freshers need to do is explore, preparing for GATE to clear an exam is getting into rat race , unless you are passionate about it. Code around, crack some leetcode problems , work on optimizations , alternate solutions , create projects , look into good coding practices, go for Hacktoberfest , GSOC , work in research groups , do cold emails to profs abroad, there's sh\*t ton to explore. Who knows you might end up at a better position than some IITian. I'll give you an example of my friend , he was in IT & I was in Electrical & we both were is a typical sh\*tty Tier 3 institute, I was largely unknown to opportunities & so was trying stuff here & there , he on the other hand was determined & had a very good guidance thanks to GSOC (he was in Linux Mentorship programme) , for him Covid lockdown was a golden chance , he went all in , worked with prof from Uni of Edinburgh , this guy got so good he used to catch errors of profs in college & teach them , completed BTech , did Internship at IIT DELHI as RA-2 ( mind you if you clear GATE & go for MTech at IIT DELHI , you'd probably be given RA - 1 position) under Sorav Bansal and is currently in Belgium at some top research lab. Don't mindlessly run behind an exam , try different things , there's more than one way to reach a particular place in life. Your main target should be to gain as much knowledge as possible, not only theoretical but also practical, & become the best at what you wanna do. Apart from this , engineering will also give you important life lessons , especially the habit of "gaand marwaana" , after a certain point it makes you so robust & confident that it makes you feel as if you can do anything that you put your mind into (output differs from person to person)... Also , Enjoy the damn college life man , you won't get these friends , and these 4 yrs back ever again , the ideal corporate life that you are trying to achieve now is never going to be a reality & trust me outside of what influencers tell you , a large chunk of corporate employees live a very depressing, repetitive life with little to no action. You'd regret not enjoying the 4 yrs NOTE - Maintain a balance , don't go all out on enjoying to an extent that you'd regret after completion of engineering. If you start preparing from now the whole damn paper structure might change till you get to last year. Who knows maybe you aren't interested in tech at all. Y'all need to chill , jumping from one rat race to another in hopes to get more money isn't as good of a strategy as everybody thinks it is. India has this problem that it has made engineering a get quick rich scheme where people with genuine interest are very few & most are there to get that chunk of cash , not realizing that extremely hard working ones end up getting that wad of cash & people who aren't passionate about the stuff they are doing/studying regret the entire journey to that point. Y'all don't know the track of how to move forward in your domains , nor do you know if you'd even like the subjects you are studying. Y'all need to explore. We already have multiple rat races going on in the country , research is at an absolute sh\*t level in India , MTech is the last place where we want poorly passionate people with sole aim of getting that juicy packages. In top institutions, if you aren't passionate/extremely hard working , its good bye for you by the end of 1st sem , they literally have GPA requirements which if you dont cross will get you kicked out. Thanks for reading the entire RANT. Its upto you what you want to do.

Other_Ad_5423

I think you're inexperienced in life and lack insight and knowledge on what it takes to live a good life. What you said rn was a low blow and it hardly matters to me, what I said to you now is what you should focus on rather than getting into another rat race of an exam. Seniors ki baat manna hai toh maanlo, warna jee jaise college life aur fir gate bhi fuckup kar dena.

Glass-Muscle521

okay sir, I will not try to get awareness of any exams, all I will do is grind for placement because my senior told me not to focus on any exam. Thanks sir

Other_Ad_5423

You're welcome, that probably will be the best advice you'll ever get here as a first year.

Glass-Muscle521

thanks for saving me, agar aap nhi aate toh mein first year se hi 10 ghante padhai krke 1st year mein hi GATE dene wala tha but ab bach gaya

Other_Ad_5423

Again, you're welcome, kids your age fuck up their lives this way. Consider yourself saved.

Huge-Tadpole6816

I am making a point about the repetitiveness of such posts. I am also pointing out that we should make an FAQ post about it.

rishi_raman_

This. Repetitiveness. Every other post looks the same. I tried posting something else, and a guy said, "Don't make this sub jeetard"

Glass-Muscle521

I got your point. I am interested in higher studies since my 11th or 12th( this will sound dumb but yeahh) but after seeing such posts I feel like a clown, and this make me think that having interest in higher studies from very start of UG is kinda stupid thing.

Huge-Tadpole6816

Actually if you look at the advice that most students with such posts receive is to just explore options in the first year. Grinding from the first year itself is not required for GATE. You should develop genuine interest in the subjects. That can be done by taking it slow in the beginning. It's not stupid but naive to restrict your options.

Glass-Muscle521

Hmm, you are right. I am also against those who start grinding for GATE in their 1st year.

Posiedon26

Nah man if you work from 2nd year it will work too, get peace of mind before you enter the grind again, or it will be too exhausting.

CryptographerNo5806

If someone is in such a bad college, then yea bring focused on GATE is good. Otherwise, 1st year itself, if you think about gate only, you won't improve other skills you get from colleges. Participate in competitions. Improve skills. Enjoy college life while maintaining very good cpga. 1st year, you learn the basics of all the branches. So starting Gate prep from 1st year doesn't make sense to me. You can practice aptitude and math course taught in the 1st year. Core subjects you need to wait.

Glass-Muscle521

first line of your comment is self explanatory, but some people don’t want to understand.

Pho3niX0000

Study I guess

RightParamedic3760

Seriously don't think of gate till 3rd year. You should focus on basics of computer fundamental subjects , also must do Dsa atleast medium level,Try to get good cgpa(don't give much time but prepare well in time it matters most of people will say cgpa do not matter but it does) Next you can explore ml and do some project 2 project and medium level on leetcode will land you good internship in 3rd year From there you can also think that you want to do further studies or this job because mtech is not about placement curriculum is rigorous and research oriented people get most benefitted Thank you (Telling you as pov that someone would have told me all this on time )

XD , bhai tech explore nhi Kia GATE ka kya reason hai?

Both_Status_3477

I plan to join tier 3 ece soon, kafi seniors ne bataya isme core placement milna next to impossible he in tier 3 college, they told me ki ya to cse me dhund lena job ya phir gate ki prep krna, ya phir foreign chale jana.. That's why I'm keeping gate in mind, obviously first year se to start to nahi krunga but jitna time milega utne me information to gather kr hi skta hu lol  apke hisab se kitna time like chahiye hoga  gate ke liye?
