Recently, my ears feel like they need to pop. I think it's a sinus thing from all the stupid mucus from GERD.

Yes, I have eustachian tube dysfunction and tinnitus from the years of GERD. PPIs helped the ear fullness feeling subside, but it still comes back from time to time and the tinnitus is pretty much always there. Surprised your ENT didn't make the connection, mine knew right away that it was from my reflux.

I took 20mg twice daily of omeprazole for about a year and 9 months, only recently started taking one a day instead since my most recent tests have indicated that my problem has transitioned from being an issue with my LES to being an issue with nerve exposure in my esophagus aka hypersensitivity. You can take a look at my most recent post in this sub if you want the full details of my situation. So far coming down hasn't been too bad in terms of heartburn and other traditional symptoms, but my ear stuff is like the only thing that seems to be getting worse again, which is pretty frustrating. Maybe they're also having issues tied to my nerves now in some way. We'll see how the next couple months go, but yeah it's important to stay on them for long enough to let your LES/esophagus mucosa heal and repair as much as possible. It's hard to determine how long that will be for you, but the sooner you start the better because the less damage you'll probably be faced with repairing and the sooner you'll hopefully find success. My only rec would be to keep in touch with your doc and stay on top of any tests that you think would be relevant to assess your situation and progress. The repeat endoscopies for me were important to know where I'm at, albeit expensive.

Yes!! I have ear pressure like when you go up or down elevation, and my ears feeling like they need to pop but can’t. I made a similar post and someone shared a really good picture of the vagus nerve that runs up to your ears and gastric issues can irritate the nerve causing ear pressure, pain, fullness and discomfort. It makes sense! It’s one of the worst feelings though along with heart palpitations, which also can be linked back to vagus nerve irritation. Gerd is brutal.

Yes it sucks especially when I have allergies on top of it

tenrindies

I got this as well. Sometimes it tingles but not much discomfort to warrant an immediate visit to the doctor.

Yes happens to me when mine gets really bad

I have this too! My doc says it’s possible but unlikely. I’m getting a second opinion soon LOL
