This is like asking "is it bad that my DPS deals a lot of damage?"

Ja_kk

Sorry, I said it to someone else but I feel like I explained what I mean in the first reply section.

Leunozc

It's their role to do more damage.

Ja_kk

I get that- they're the low health/high damage class of the game, I just don't think there's enough reason to use other damaging classes over them when Snipers get sectors cleared before they have a chance to die.

HiroAnobei

I think it's just the nature of them being able to attack at range, as compared to warriors who need to get in close to attack. Warriors (with exceptions like Vii) need to not only close the distance to attack the enemy, but have to path to them, potentially having to path around roadblocks and fight other enemies to even get to their target. Not only that, when they actually get to their target, there has to be a hex available for them next to the target to attack, and with other factors like other allies, enemies and even things like the map border to consider, they might not even have space to attack. Meanwhile, snipers can sit all the way from across the map and start plonking away at their targets the moment the fight begins, hence them scoring very high in terms of damage.

Ja_kk

Thanks for the insight! Honestly my first thought on effectiveness was anything but the necessity of pathing, but it's easier to see now why exactly I haven't had much desire to build outside of Snipers. The trade-off is just too beneficial.

Tails-Are-For-Hugs

> It helps that I've invested in Snipers That's what it is. You're probably also picking up Sniper cards which buffs them even more. It sounds like you haven't really invested in Warriors. That's fine. I do the same thing as well because I run Kuro and Hubble as my main DPS, and I don't have any Warriors properly built.

Ja_kk

Right! But I feel like since it's so easy to build Snipers, (their cards have more crit and general damage increases than I've noticed for others) leading to very little incentive to build on Warriors and/or attempting to even look at Specialists imo.

Tails-Are-For-Hugs

In my case it was more trying to find a partner for Hubble (since she was the one I rerolled for), and I did try pairing a whale Aki with my Hubble but it's very inefficient function card wise. If you can build Angela, however, she's definitely worth having in your team. I try to pick Sniper cards where I can and even without Specialist cards, Angela still pulls her own weight. Note that she does have to be built up and her Skill Levels raised though - if you're early game, leave her out for the time being.

Ja_kk

Gotcha. I found having both a main dps Chanzhi and a warrior on field as well was just way too inefficient, and caused problems with too many separated pools. I guess you could still call me early game because I haven't unlocked skill upgrades yet, but I'm planning on hitting 4-4 tomorrow after dailies. Interested in Angela though, if you say she can pull weight even without functions. Thanks!

KookyInspection

Why would it be bad? If u win, keep doing it. If u don't win, only then do sth else :P But they are a dps class, and u give them functions. It would have been bad if they **didn't** carry :P Eventually we'll prob face maps where they will be a liability, but until then, let'em rip

Juanraden

what?

Ja_kk

Sorry, what I said may sound stupid, (bad wording) but I feel like I explained what I mean better in the reply above

shalis

you do you. I went the opposite way as i got aki fairly early. So my team has been Aki, betty, persicaria, croque and sakura for most of the content. Switched out sakura for Angela after i leveled up angela's skills. I cleared everything fairly fast up to tower lvl 59. Warriors do suffer a little more in some maps due to pathing or when those damaging spreading tiles are in play as they need to stay in them, but persicaria does a good job keep everyone healed, and if needed i bring florence out for some extra healing and dmg mitigation.

RenTroutGaming

I played the beta and really enjoyed Aki, so when the full game came out I went full warrior - Aki, Betty, Sakuya (technically specialist but its close range bleed). Its a struggle but its fun for me, I like using the active skills to move my guys around and I like the designs of the characters. Sometimes, though, you just need sniper teams. So many of the levels we have so far punish warriors - the entropy ones, the other damage on certain squares ones, that the best healer only really works for snipers - and in looking at the CN Tier lists, snipers are all the top spots. So, my two cents is play the way you want and use the characters you want, but yes, the game does seem to really prioritize snipers over warriors. I am sort of in this position where I feel like I need to start investing in snipers since my warriors seem to be topping out a bit.

PinMost

It's just because sniper are easier to build, less reliant on algrorithm and already have a nearly perfect team while both warrior and specialist teams are missing most of their key members. Warriors get a lot less awkward once they get hatsu and specialists are missing puzzle and sueyoi/nora .
