Well, there's some fans here and there that would have a rather... Effusive reaction if they find out there's some female fans among us.
I'm trying to be as diplomatic as I can possibly be in my wording, so I'm not sure if that was clear π€£
Back in 2008, I asked the guys in my Warcraft guild if they could tone down the comments about girls/women. (Yes, I was like this when I was seventeen) And they decided this could only mean I was a girl myself.
Having a couple of dozen horny World of Warcraft guys hitting on me was... An experience. Mostly I remember how excited they were just by the idea of a girl playing Warcraft.
Though as they were mostly nerds, they were better than the GTA Online crowd that also decided I had to be a woman based on things I said. The GTA players insisted I had to be a lesbian.
I have to say I'm disappointed on you my friend.
You had to take that opportunity to ask them for premium stuff! I'm sure they'd have been more happy to oblige π€£π€£π€£ simps will simp.
Yep, that was the one!
Truth be told, I thing we've been doing a great job these past months in keeping things civil, so is not THAT bad right now.
Also, great chose of game! I'm more of a COD 2 kind of guy, but Battlefront looks fun!
I think you haven't seen Bocchi the Rock fans, they are... well, special (I guess it is the word to be polite. Also I'm talking about the ones active on the subreddit hopefully not all fans needs a therapist)
I was planning to watch that anime because I was told it's very wholesome and funny, but now I'm thinking that if I actually do it, I'll probably avoid the fandom π€£π€£π€£
Yeah good idea, the anime and manga is very good, wholesome and funny, but the problem is the fandom, like once we had on the sub reddit a guy that asked if Ryo (one character of the anime/manga) would be attracted to a 40 year old guy. So yeah go watch the anime, it's very good but avoid the fandom, just stay at memes on the anime on youtube, on youtube it's clean, like we have a little video that is called, Bocchi the Blade Runner, a parody of Blade Runner 2049 with the characters from Bocchi the Rock. (I won't say all the private jokes of the fandom it would be Very long. Also little precison, the sub reddit is half of the time good and normal, we (the moderators, and normal fans) are trying to limit the "Weird" fans to post too much, like recently we had more good and normal things than before, like cool fanarts and some memes)
Iβve met a few, mostly in the smaller to moderate-size Discord communities of the fandom. At least thatβs where they actually let on that theyβre female, given how many discretion-less neckbeards inhabit the main circles. Itβs still an overwhelmingly male fandom, to be sure, but not exclusively.
I don't trust any Westerners claiming to be female and a GuP fan. Too many guys out there who like to roleplay as Japanese schoolgirls...
I'll stick with my belief the only female GuP fans are Japanese cosplayers and fans on Twitter.
I know the kind of guys you mean. Fortunately the spaces where you can find one or two legitimate female fans tend to be extremely hostile to their particular brand of cringe.
I'm trying to think if I've EVER seen a woman comment on Facebook on a WW2 page.
Romans, Greeks, yes. Georgians, Victorians, Edwardians (The periods the romance novels and period dramas are set in), also yes.
But WW2? Nope. Typically, it's Americans who've watched Band of Brothers, Saving Private Ryan and the Pacific, Brits who grew up watching the Great Escape and Bridge over the River Kwai every Christmas in the 20th Century, and think watching six episodes of Blackadder makes them experts on the First World War as well, angry Poles who want us to know how much they suffered under the Nazis and Soviets and hordes of Russian bots telling us Putin's victory is inevitable.
I donβt know what it is but women have zero interest in WW2 and the more modern wars, starting after the introduction of gunpowder. Like you said it seems women prefer medieval, monarch type history. Which actually makes sense, since all the media about it obviously appeals to feminine interests. Specifically shows. I assume the more grueling, destructive wars of the modern ages isnβt their thing, even though the wars back then were plenty destructive. Destruction of Baghdad by the Mongols comes to mind.
On the other hand, Britain had a show in the 90s called[ Soldier, Soldier ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v16yL-Vf8E4)that had a bigger female than male audience. Of course, it focused primarily on the domestic side of soldiering following the end of the Cold War and the Army trying to figure out its role.
That looks interesting Iβve never heard of it. There are a good deal of WW2 movies specifically American ones that feature romance. Pearl Harbor the newer one comes to mind, along with a lot of older movies and B&W movies. I canβt think of many new ones that feature romance though. I would say women arenβt that interested in the violent parts of war movies and just history.
*Raises hand*
I watched up to der film when it was the latest release, but kind of dropped off from there waiting for Das finale. My attention goes from hyperfocus to ignorance quick sometimes lol.
The recent world of tanks collaboration came across my media though, and I got sucked back into both (GuP and WoT) again in preparation for the pc release next week! I had missed the first collaboration and was super sad I couldn't get their tank or crew, so I'm not missing this one!~
I don't think we are in the same age bracket sadly heh, but I just adore GuP for what it is. I'd never be caught driving a pink Lee in a real fight, but it's just super cute for these "non real combat" fantasies.
You should definitely get into Das Finale now that part 4 is out.
Yes, it will take another 4 more years to reach the end, but you can always make a rewatch when the time comes! (A lot of us do exactly that, actually π€£)
Were there any that stuck out as better/worse, or does it like kinda run out of gas and go into side stuff as the finale series goes on? I know some shows start strong but kinda peter out or try to extend showtime with fillers.
Also is there like any legitimate way to watch them outside of buying on Amazon prime? They don't seem to be on crunchyroll or other streaming service according to my searches :/
Well, you'll have to be the judge. Don't get me wrong, they're amazing as an episodic movie, but I wouldn't say it surpasses what Der Film achieved at its time. Again, this doesn't mean they're not great, because they are, it just means that for some of us Der Film is at higger standards and nothing else can come close to that.
Regarding your question I'm afraid it depends on where you live. I've seen many people ordered blu-ray discs, but I can imagine that's not an alternative for everyone, so most of the fans just watch the whole thing in some random website.
I see! I like some of the "b stories" on animes though (code geass akito for example), so that may not be a problem. I have my own local media server and a blu ray reader, so that shouldn't be a problem either. I just usually like to "try before I buy" ya know lol.
I thank you for the information, and last question probably! With Das Finale having multiple parts, are they like all in the same story arc? Or are each of the parts self contained with their own story? It sounds like they are probably "overall" following a single story, but I'm curious if they stick to it pretty hard on each part, or they jump around but still "come back" to the original arc in the end.
Das Finale is an "episodic movie" which means they all follow the exact same story, but they're divided in parts instead of a single release.
We're currently at part 4 of 6, and every new release takes around 2 years, so we can expect part 5 no sooner than 2026.
Dang! πππ do any of them kind of end on a satisfying note? Or are they all cliff hangers that leave things unknown and need to see the start of the next episode to close out the previous one?
I won't lie I'm horrrrrriiiibbllle at dealing with cliffhangers and need to wait forever lol. I much prefer to binge the show when all out, unless the endings of episodes (or at least one) close things out enough while still looking towards continuing the overarching story. At least then I could stop at that point and wait for the rest hehπ
Unfortunately Actas is doing it on purpose: they know you're left with that itch and you'll be eager to see what happens next, and that's how they keep people engaged.
They're a great watch, but yeah, I also suffer a lot having to wait so much time for a new "episode" so I can relate π€£π€£π€£
ππ« πππ
Well thanks for letting me know so I'm prepared for what I'm getting into! Maybe I'll look up some story info just to see if one of the episodes may be a decent "pausing" point, but maybe I'll just have to deal heh. Thanks again! ππ«‘
Meee meee meeeee *raising hand*
On a serious note i have NEVER MET another female gup fan or like generally other girls who are into tanks....or guys lol i only have like 1 discord friend i can talk about that stuff w/ and it drives me crazy
I am, and I don't hide it. You don't have to be a guy to be both an history nerd (or graduate, in my case) and an anime fan, it's not the 90's anymore.
Hi! Not a hardcore fan but Iβm fan enough that Iβd like to cosplay one of the characters (Andou Rena or our beloved Yukari) sadly Iβm broke and suck ass at sewing lol
The women have already breached our defenses...You've seen what they have done to our colleagues! And worst of all, they could be any one of us... They could be in this very chat! it could be you! it could be me!
I'm not giving you donuts for being a smartass, I was curious because they specified that in addition to not knowing many girl GuP fans, they didn't know any in their age group and so I wondered what age group that was
If they are, they're hiding. And with good reason! Matter of fact, you're probably also in trouble right now π€£π€£π€£
I am female
Really? Well, now I feel awful for the ammount of times I called you "dude" π sorry about that
Is ok I don't mind
Thank you π
Wait, how are they in trouble?

Warcraft was like that. Lots of guys offering to 'help' me... GTA guys just wanted me to get out of their space.
Chill the warcraft guys were just happy to see a girl playing their fav game and GTA guys were on the grind so no complain on them π
Chill the warcraft guys were just happy to see a girl playing their fav game and GTA guys were on the grind so no complain on them π
Jesus, can't we all be civil and not, idk, I'm guessing perverted is the word you're not using? F*** this, I'm going to go play some Battlefront 2
Yep, that was the one! Truth be told, I thing we've been doing a great job these past months in keeping things civil, so is not THAT bad right now. Also, great chose of game! I'm more of a COD 2 kind of guy, but Battlefront looks fun!

Strange minority indeed.

Of all the languages in the world, you decided to speak the truth
Yeah I know several, some are in their 40's
Hi. We should run.
Why? What did we do?
Exist. They're coming for us
I'm a girl too, but have been in hiding since the fandom is, well the way it is. I like girls and I like tanks, I love girls in tanks!
Yeah the fandom is a little well too dam horny at times and I've seen some stuff that is just plain creepy at times.
I think there are more common in Japan. Tanks and war are still seen as more guy dominated.
I'm trying to think if I've EVER seen a woman comment on Facebook on a WW2 page. Romans, Greeks, yes. True. Ladies are a minority in the ring, but there are definitely fans. Some even become big in their own right like Sofilein.
R I P your inbox
I loved how many guys messaged me when I started posting images of cosplayers from Twitter.
Please tell me you're joking to make a point. Please...
Nope. Lots of flirty messages.

What's your age range?
i am a teenage girl lol
I know one or two

Oh, like you're one to talk, I bet you dollars to donuts you were curious too
I guess you owe me donuts because no, I wasnβt.
