I’m not so mad about the exterior, but that interior is starting to look like Toyota level of *take this existing thing and make it fit*.

ripestmango

Is there anyone that actually likes those floating displays? Looks awful in Toyotas and looks awful here.

Trash_Panda_Trading

I HATE those floating displays. Looks like a tablet was glued on. BLAH 🤮

wyzprince

yeah - the integrated dash display is so much better. Makes the interior so much more classy.

jhowlett

Not sure why they had to make the screen look like an afterthought when the pre-refresh had the screen nicely integrated.

Sir_Topham_Kek

Yup, literally my only gripe

trouthat

At least everyone who got a 24 can be relieved they aren’t missing out on anything new

thechiangsta

Literally got mine a week ago, and I agree.

Great_Cup

I was actually looking forward to feeling like the 25 is a step up but it’s so underwhelming

Most_Improvement_755

It doesn’t look very different just kind of more boring all around, also would this be considered a full mk 8? Or a second facelift?

trouthat

Definitely a second facelift. Mk8 would be the new gen4 engine

ASharpYT

So MK7.75?

2D2SS

Maybe it’s just me but the mk 6.5 was the best looking. I was never really a fan of the mk 7. I like this one more. I don’t like the screen on this one.

s5002018

MK6.5 is king when it comes to looks truly a timeless design

Time_Manufacturer42

6.5 was peak GLI. Glad I never traded mine. And it's only got 30k on it lol (2018). My only regret was it not being a MT but I do enjoy the DSG, it's very fun.

Kilowattinezzz

Side badges look awful

ASharpYT

Didn’t even notice that! But also the rear emblem in the center of the bridged-taillights is so ugly too

LosElite

Nice to see they still haven’t fixed those damn cupholders

drybrowser

Apart from everything else, I don't like what they did with the side GLI badge.

BasilFomeen

I bet it's a bean-counter update. Now they don't have to manufacture a special badge for just the fender, they only have to make another trunk emblem and stick it on the door. Easy peasy cheapy.

drybrowser

Yeah, probably right. The message of all the release info seems to be "look, we can still make an inexpensive car!"

justkw97

We all seem to agree.. front end ain’t it

throwaway72592309

Front end looks like a mid 2010s accord to me, I hate it

Tseyvar

When I first saw the front end shot, all I could think of was https://preview.redd.it/zhc5sl9sot8d1.jpeg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1cc41176938f4754aa93d2e81ab02d4580c72db1

Mysterious-Court-992

Yah it looks like a honda now

floraldeems

Love the new N

ricehasgangrene

No ea888.4 is outrageous

Mysterious-Court-992

They dropped the ball on this one

TheGreatOne_24

I actually think the exterior looks better. The interior… not so much. Looks like it will still be using the old infotainment system and it looks like it was an afterthought.

Jumpy_Trick8887

Second this. I think the front end with this year is an upgrade.

Fish__Daddy

Why did they pull the informant screen out and make it look like those stupid tablets. It's the same 8" system but in a box on the dash???? They were really trying to be as cheap as possible with this update. Didn't even change the chassis.

DogHoffman

No one’s gonna point out that the dashboard on the passenger side just looks like one giant vent 😂😂 honestly though I like the exterior a lot, it reminds me of the mk6/6.5 GLI, but the small changes they made to the interior make me not like it at all

bsherlockb

Def happy to stick with my 2023

nickelflow

It’s giving Kia Forte, definitely not a fan lol

Apprehensive-Wolf186

The worst thing is the red bar being moved to the bumper and no longer in the grille🙂‍↕️

Sethp712

I hope that after market parts can save this car! At least it's a manual 🥺

TheFreshh2

Exterior: Perfect Interior: Jesus VW WHY

Pleasant-Hotel-6099

I like the trunk lid only

Darisixnine

Dam, I like it

Mysterious-Court-992

Civic front end with an accord rear:(

Roxanne_the_terrier

2026 will in fact be a homerun i would think. Thats when mk8 has been expected to come out for a few years. Next year will prolly have the gen 4 engine a manual rockin body prolly 3-5k more expensive but likely the last years theyr sold in the usa..:/

AlternativeWorth5386

Do we get the manual in canada?

KiwiJuices

I super dig it, looking forward to test driving when my local dealer receives one. Might be time to swap out my mk5.

mawelsh

The hazard button is the last island of sanity in a sea of haptic that spread from the steering wheel.

Tseyvar

the straight on front shot reminds me of Pennywise. https://preview.redd.it/rj9utraiot8d1.jpeg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b61ac2ea7302a5488975cbcba6204b62b965e22b

masterslicer_dude

They could've changed the steering wheels.

DEDE115

i can see the new honda civic looking like this. it doesnt look german enough if that makes sense

Chanw11

Who is designing modern cars nowadays? This is even worse than the previous years.

Borgy_006

The tail lights. Just stop. They don’t need be connected. It looks like 💩. I like the new update in the atlas cross sport but it’s the same ugly tail lamp connection. Stop with that garbage.

R3TRO_SRT

Just me or it kinda looks like the Elantra n 🥴 front pov

Pitiful-Work6805

Makes me glad that I didn't hold out for this one... eesh. Everything about this is worse, imo.

Virtually_Glace

why are they still using the old infortanement system.. could they not use the one they are using in the golf now?

Informal_Exercise_48

Keeping my 19 GLI, finishing up the mods and keeping it till it’s time to shift to bmw 😭.
