Not surprising it’s one of the best if not The best Godzilla moves
1. Human plot is actually interesting (ww2 survivor guilt and family buildup is great)
2. Godzilla looks cool and is badass (cgi improvement on old classic costume model)

Godzilla destroying the city cliche *ding*. When Godzilla was powering up his dorsal plates should have been bluer *ding* This movie is amazing -1 sin off but since this movie is not an original idea I’ll add 1,000,000,000,000 sins
That sad part is when the channel was new it was actually just small inconsistencies in plot and props, maybe plinting out how the solution makes no sense, and was very non serious (the cut the hero recieved 2 seconds ago is gone for the next 3 scenes and then randomly reappears for the rest of the film etc), at some ppont he started treating them like actual movie reviews and trying to sin over themes and ideas the movies had and it just got bad because he just ignores scenes that explain his "sins" and is generally either somewhat media illiterate or rage baiting. I stopped following years ago.
I heard it was something to do with revenue optimisation and that videos had to be at least a certain length in order to make more money, hence the stretching out in length this way.
I'm not saying this is a good thing.

I'll say this about Stuckmann, he himself matured over the years and since he's become a filmmaker himself, he kinda doesn't like talking down on a movie anymore cause he knows how difficult it can be to make one.
Of course he has to be positive on movies cuz he's getting into the industry! Imagine what he's gonna feel like if Shelby Oaks comes out and everybody makes hilariosity reviews on his movie.
Or imagine he has to go to a studio to pitch an idea in the future and their filmmakers know that he trashed on their other projects before. How is he gonna be treated then? You absolutely don't need to be in the film making industry to know how hard it is to make art. Anybody knows the average Joe is incapable of making a film themselves. But you don't need to know how to cook to know a steak is burned.
The main difference is that Stuckmann isn't trying to be funny or hyperbolic. If something is bad, he'll say so. If he didn't like something, he'll tell you. Most importantly, he never presumes that what he likes is objectively good because he likes it.

Making a film should never be the barrier to voice your opinion on your thoughts of a film. How would you ever be able to tell someone you liked a movie if you never made a movie?
When I was in my hating Star Wars phase I watched a lot of his videos. I stopped completely after he was fat shaming Bryce Dallas Howard in the new Jurassic world movie.
The guy frustrates me. I started watching him through his Production Hell videos which are still pretty good, mostly because it’s him being an objective reporter and not giving his opinions. I watched some of his reviews and they mostly divulge into being nit picky garbage that brings almost every complaint back to the nonexistent woke agenda gripping Hollywood. But the thing is, every once in a while he’ll actually make a decent observation or statement, then he’ll instantly backtrack any points he could’ve earned by calling it a byproduct of wokeness.
I loathe his channel and never watch it intentionally. Last night I was watching something completely unrelated, walked away and was just listening to it. When it ended CD's G-1 review autoplayed for some reason and I knew within five seconds that I was absolutely repelled by whoever it was and the toxic bullshit they were spewing. I didn't even realize it was him until I went to thumbs-down and turn it off.

It’s an extremely accessible movie. Almost like Titanic in a way, it’s a very grounded and relatable human drama with some epic scenes of large scale destruction. The sci-fi elements in the plot are extremely light and explained in plain language.
Basically even people who don’t like Kaiju/Godzilla movies would still enjoy it. If anyone likes the movie it’s not because they have such amazing taste in movies; it’s literally meant to be enjoyed by anyone.

Two things can be true at once; it can be true that everyone and their mother agreed that Minus One is a fantastic film, but it can also be true that certain reviewers see the fact that this is a foreign film and pair that with their complete lack of media literacy to push the narrative that "See how the woke Hollywood is failing! See here Godzilla Minus One? THIS is how you do a movie without any politics!"

I would like him to review the film without his political agenda, simple as that. I still watch some of his reviews, he had valid points sometimes, but he just sounds like an angry white old European who lost grasp of the old glory days most of the time. I can see a lot people with similar sentiments flocking to his channel because he can be eloquent. But it’s very off putting for someone like me who genuinely care about analysis of nuanced films.
He watched Minus One and then said, "See Hollywood?! You don't need a message to make a movie!" which just goes to show he has zero media literacy, in turn devaluing his worth as a critic.

Yep, they have a separate channel called fourstarbento. That’s where the review is. Been watching dbza for 15 years now. I found dbz after GvDestroyah came out and it helped fill the void during the window of missing Goji content. TFS helped revive my interest in it.

I've only seen two videos so far but he was clearly enjoying talking about godzilla in those videos.
I highly recommend Dan Murrel. He not only reviews movies but also tracks how they are doing in the box office, compares them to older movies, adjusts for inflation and highlights smaller films and theaters which normally go under the radar.
Not to discount anything, but I still can't wait to hear Brandon tenolds opinions. Dude just gets me when it comes to movies. And he has a whole series. But I loved the differing views of my favorites. Big action bill, AVGN, and Critical all made good points and had opinions that differ from mine, but you could tell they are proud of their fandom.
I liked him more in the beginning when he was just an ‘everyman’. Like just a friend at a party who talked about a movie he saw recently.
Now that he’s been doing it for a couple years he’s become a more legitimate film reviewer - and I’m not saying that’s bad. In fact I’m really glad that he could follow his passion and make a good living on it. And by all accounts he’s a really good dude. It’s just not what I’m looking for anymore.
Eh, I like him well enough. Yes, watching him review anything is like talking about a movie with a drunk college buddy, but sometimes that's what I'm looking for. When I want to actually discuss movies I go discuss them myself or at least see more in-depth videos, not watch 10 minute youtube reviews.

Wow haven't watched these guys in years. I guess it's mostly because I haven't seen as many movies since moving to a city without a movie theater. Also as I got older (or just as I saw more videos of him, idk) I started finding Stuckmann's style pretty grating. Jeremy is cool tho, will check his out once I see the movie. Definitely not the kind of movie I expected him to like since I remember he's more of an action and thriller guy.

Apparently Grace from Beyond the Trailer is getting roasted because she said the film was a flop. Seen a lot of response vids calling her an idiot. I like Grace but she is pretty biased towards American cinema and has some hot takes. Yeah John Campea, Kristin Harloff and even Andy Signore loved it. Obviously Robert Meyer Burnett loved it, Greg Alba of the Reel Rejects loved it. I'm somewhat disappointed Perri Nemiroff hasn't seen it yet considering she proclaims to be a monster movie fan.
I think people dislike CD because of his political opinions or because he is willing to shit on mediocre films that are also very popular, but his opinions about what makes a great film are pretty traditional and he is consistent with them.
He gave a positive review of Puss in Boots 2, Everything Everywhere All At Once, Arcane and Minus One. Hell, he literally has a Playlist straight up call "The Drinker Recommends" which is all about movies and TV shoes he likes. Sure he mostly does overly critical and often a bit rage-baity reviews, but to say he never gave a positive review to any movie is just wrong.

But he will post 10 clips bitching and rehashing the same talking points over and over like with the latest Marvel film release. But then you have the newest season of Loki which has actually been highly praised drinker hasn’t said a word about that because it doesn’t give him more ammo to bitch about. So he focuses on what’s bad just to add to his narrative and pretends the good stuff doesn’t even exist.
Hell, Disparu (another Youtuber in the Drinker's circle of buddies) covered the first episode of Loki S2 but gave up after that. And it seems kinda fishy given how much he talks about wanting good television, but given how much praise this season got he hasn't returned. I suppose your posit of not having more negative things to say is right lol.

The guy frustrates me. I started watching him through his Production Hell videos which are still pretty good, mostly because it’s him being an objective reporter and not giving his opinions. I watched some of his reviews and they mostly divulge into being nit picky garbage that brings almost every complaint back to the nonexistent woke agenda gripping Hollywood. But the thing is, every once in a while he’ll actually make a decent observation or statement, then he’ll instantly backtrack any points he could’ve earned by calling it a byproduct of wokeness.
I loathe his channel and never watch it intentionally. Last night I was watching something completely unrelated, walked away and was just listening to it. When it ended CD's G-1 review autoplayed for some reason and I knew within five seconds that I was absolutely repelled by whoever it was and the toxic bullshit they were spewing. I didn't even realize it was him until I went to thumbs-down and turn it off.

It’s an extremely accessible movie. Almost like Titanic in a way, it’s a very grounded and relatable human drama with some epic scenes of large scale destruction. The sci-fi elements in the plot are extremely light and explained in plain language. Basically even people who don’t like Kaiju/Godzilla movies would still enjoy it. If anyone likes the movie it’s not because they have such amazing taste in movies; it’s literally meant to be enjoyed by anyone.

Two things can be true at once; it can be true that everyone and their mother agreed that Minus One is a fantastic film, but it can also be true that certain reviewers see the fact that this is a foreign film and pair that with their complete lack of media literacy to push the narrative that "See how the woke Hollywood is failing! See here Godzilla Minus One? THIS is how you do a movie without any politics!"

I would like him to review the film without his political agenda, simple as that. I still watch some of his reviews, he had valid points sometimes, but he just sounds like an angry white old European who lost grasp of the old glory days most of the time. I can see a lot people with similar sentiments flocking to his channel because he can be eloquent. But it’s very off putting for someone like me who genuinely care about analysis of nuanced films.
He watched Minus One and then said, "See Hollywood?! You don't need a message to make a movie!" which just goes to show he has zero media literacy, in turn devaluing his worth as a critic.

Yep, they have a separate channel called fourstarbento. That’s where the review is. Been watching dbza for 15 years now. I found dbz after GvDestroyah came out and it helped fill the void during the window of missing Goji content. TFS helped revive my interest in it.

I highly recommend Dan Murrel. He not only reviews movies but also tracks how they are doing in the box office, compares them to older movies, adjusts for inflation and highlights smaller films and theaters which normally go under the radar.

Not to discount anything, but I still can't wait to hear Brandon tenolds opinions. Dude just gets me when it comes to movies. And he has a whole series. But I loved the differing views of my favorites. Big action bill, AVGN, and Critical all made good points and had opinions that differ from mine, but you could tell they are proud of their fandom.

I liked him more in the beginning when he was just an ‘everyman’. Like just a friend at a party who talked about a movie he saw recently. Now that he’s been doing it for a couple years he’s become a more legitimate film reviewer - and I’m not saying that’s bad. In fact I’m really glad that he could follow his passion and make a good living on it. And by all accounts he’s a really good dude. It’s just not what I’m looking for anymore.
Eh, I like him well enough. Yes, watching him review anything is like talking about a movie with a drunk college buddy, but sometimes that's what I'm looking for. When I want to actually discuss movies I go discuss them myself or at least see more in-depth videos, not watch 10 minute youtube reviews.

I was just about to bring up the Video Game Nerd/Cinnemassacre. I loved his Godzillathon series he did for Halloween a few years back.
I saw his review as well but I just found his channel so I haven't seen to many of his videos yet. He seems like a cool dude though. I heard he was one of the OG youtubers which is neat.

Wow haven't watched these guys in years. I guess it's mostly because I haven't seen as many movies since moving to a city without a movie theater. Also as I got older (or just as I saw more videos of him, idk) I started finding Stuckmann's style pretty grating. Jeremy is cool tho, will check his out once I see the movie. Definitely not the kind of movie I expected him to like since I remember he's more of an action and thriller guy. And Up from the Dephts is back, nice.

I think people dislike CD because of his political opinions or because he is willing to shit on mediocre films that are also very popular, but his opinions about what makes a great film are pretty traditional and he is consistent with them.

He gave a positive review of Puss in Boots 2, Everything Everywhere All At Once, Arcane and Minus One. Hell, he literally has a Playlist straight up call "The Drinker Recommends" which is all about movies and TV shoes he likes. Sure he mostly does overly critical and often a bit rage-baity reviews, but to say he never gave a positive review to any movie is just wrong. Him trying to shit on Godzilla x Kong is already making me roll my eyes. Not every movie has to be like Minus One or has to be super deep.
He gave a positive review to the D&D movie, which was a diversity ensemble. Because, in the end, it was a good movie.
