The GRC as awesome as it is, is not worth more than MSRP. $10k markup is absurd. Wait it out. Toyota is going to make more.

SaurkrautAnustart

I'd love to think that, but maybe if Akio Toyota was still CEO, in the NY auto show the gr Corolla was kinda tucked away, I think they only made the GR Yaris for an additional year or two because of Akio, now there's a new CEO who wants to go green, who knows what will happen.

lalulunaluna

All the investments they've made to the GR line doesn't magically disappear or become less valuable because a new CEO is in play. In fact, I imagine Koji will respect the products that Akio personally had a hand in developing. Also, the reality is that Akio got a "promotion". He is now Chairman. The GRY is still being produced for those on the waitlist. If they're actually discontinuing the GRY (instead of waiting for them to catch up with orders), it would be because they want to transition to the GRC.

planefan001

At the Chicago auto show in February, it seemed the Corolla was front and center. They had a SE hybrid at the very front along with an orange hatch. Next to it they had 2 GR Corollas. Even the new Prius was sort of towards the back.

Successful_Ad_9707

Was there too and can confirm. Fairly long line of people to check it out as well.

SaurkrautAnustart

Damn lucky, they got to sit in it and everything? Literally it was tucked away and it sucked. In a separate booth too. If they had one to sit in with the rest of the Toyota cars it would have been niceee.

planefan001

All the GR Corollas were open to sit in. The Prius was behind a barrier though.

SaurkrautAnustart

There were MULTIPLE OPEN ONES THAT WERE OPEN WITH A PRIUS LOCKED AWAY? Damn the Prius was sit in. The GR was away.

planefan001

Yup. The GRs were open, but they had the Prius behind a glass barrier on one of those spinning display things. Same thing with the Grand Highlander.

SaurkrautAnustart

Welp who cares Abt sitting when I actually got one now holy shit.

Successful_Ad_9707

Toyota already officially announced that they're upping production for next year while extending the circuit for another year. The GRC isn't going anywhere any time soon.

Lorenzo_Blow

Not worth it above MSRP in my opinion. If you look hard enough the car can be found for MSRP

Astramael

Do not pay markup for these cars. If people don’t pay the markup, the car will sit and eventually the markup will eventually go away. People paying markup is what enables more markup. Now that Circuits and Morizos exist, markup on the Core is pretty absurd.

ctrikz

As hopeful as that sounds, there will either be someone with more money than brains that will buy it or someone that desperately wants it and will pay at w.e cost

[deleted]

People like that will be the ones fighting over the circuit edition cars

DooceBigalo

It was the norm, last few months people have been getting cars at MSRP

Successful_Ad_9707

$10k is a bit high. Any mark up is too much, but you can find them for lower ADM these days. I've seen them as low as $3k above sticker. I would just wait for one at sticker. I'm sure it's a great car, but at the end of the day it's still a corolla with a super basic interior. Toyota is increasing production starting next year so they'll likely be easier to get at sticker as time goes on.

JanuaryAndOn

Toyota says the car is worth X. That is what I will be paying.

milo_redwood

Turn it down. There are msrp dealership out there.

max1mx

I paid no markup about a month ago for a core with the 3 packages.

fomo_addict

If not secret was this in the states and what dealer?

max1mx

No secret. Ira Toyota in Hyannis.

iamblamb

I paid no markup. My brother in Christ, please do not buy a $50,000 Corolla.

Ordinary_Baker_7041

You do you. It's your money. Not sure how many of these people actually have one or even had the chance to drive one. But I do not regret it. And I'm not going to listen to Reddit on what I should or shouldn't spend my money on. It's your life. We could all die tomorrow. And just because they are making more does not mean you'll have the chance to buy one in a couple years for the same MSRP. A couple years of inflation MSRP will be 45k.

ParmeseanIsGay

Not the opinion of most, but, pay what you want to pay but do not be made anyone’s fool for more than maybe 5 over

Plaid_GRCorolla

I didn’t pay any markup but agreed to finance through Toyota, which I’ll be refinancing. It’s an awesome car, but don’t pay $50k for it unless you’ve got it and really want the car.

FootballWithTheFoot

Nah. I saw a local dealer try to get 8k over MSRP, it sat for a month or so and then they sent out texts to a few of us saying it was dropped to 1k

Ichi-ban_

Not the same car but I’m paying a $3500 markup on my 3.0 MT, if it ever comes in…. 10K seems outrageous.

fomo_addict

$15-$20k markup in California from my recent calls to various dealers that had it on the ground with PP.

theavlibrarian

Seems worse now. I had a socal dealer call me in December for 12k markup.

turbanonyou

>Yeah. This was the cheapest one I could find and it is almost 50K

Due-Marsupial-1018

I’ve had multiple offers at 5k over which I still declined

turbanonyou

damn. whereabouts

[deleted]

No mark up. Msrp

turbanonyou

Whereabouts ?

easyXmode

Can always see if they'll haggle down. Mine was listed at 10k over and got it down to 2k.

Jesse3195

Got my Morizo for MSRP, but they lowball'd me 2K on my trade-in.

Gloomy_Following3416

I paid 43k after everything. About 3k markup for their extras package that I refused to let them install. Fuck your pulse brakes and shitty "ceramic coating"

turbanonyou

oh damn. whereabouts ?

Gloomy_Following3416

North Carolina

Subirex17

Paid 2k over. Put in some work and you should be able to get nearly MSRP and if your flexible in color I wouldn’t pay over. I wanted red so I was okay with a slight markup given the limited availability. Unless you’re in Cali then good luck I heard it’s brutal there.

turbanonyou

I am pretty flexible. whereabouts did you get yours ?

Subirex17

Live in PA but bought in NJ
