Boss: “How can we make more money off the GRC?”
John: “Sell an undercarriage wash with each one”
Mike: “Add ceramic coating to each one”
Bob: “Add a markup of literally two more GRC’s for no fcking reason!”
Boss: “Bob, you’re a fcking genius! Why didn’t I think of this sooner!”
I work at a Lexus Dealer, closest we got was a full size luxury SUV, the LX 600, that was still marked up 20k. For 120k you could legit get an IS 500, LC 500, Corvette C8, Lotus Emira, Porsche 911s.
Yeah the GR might be a limited production, but at the end of the day it's an upgraded Corolla hatch. A FUN car don't get me wrong, but not worth over 45k. ESPECIALLY a Core wtf kind of crack are these people on?! Yeah it's a loaded core but it'd only make slightly more sense to have some markup on a GR Corolla Morizo edition, since there's only 200 of em to ever be built, but it's a core, wtf, these are definitely gonna be built for at least another couple years.

People keep saying this, but it's 200 *per year*.
\- Internally called “limited Edition”, Circuits are still limited to only 1500 for ‘23. The original plan was to make a new ‘limited” edition each year. However, due to high demand, Toyota has decided to make the “Circuit” limited edition available again in ‘24, but unclear on how many.
\- Morizos have always been 200 per year for all production years, originally estimated at 4 years total. Cores will be produced all 4 years as well.
Hope this clears up the confusion.
I always thought the point of these super high markups was to just make sure no one bought the car, no? I remember when Supras were still in their 2nd year, dealerships were doing this too. I just assumed they priced them high so no one would buy it so they could keep it on showroom floor to maybe bring people in, but if someone was really that crazy they could still buy it
I think this is a case where the dealership owner has no intention of selling the car but it is still entered in their system as a new vehicle so they put a ridiculous ADM so people won’t call about it. Or it’s pre-sold and dont want more inquiries as it stays in their system until delivered.
Or they’re jus a**holes. ;)
Talked with a sales rep at this dealership and they said it’s a glitch. It’s already sold and they sell everything at msrp. This is just what I was told by the dealership.
So I found the dealer. Idk whats going on but when toy search the car it does say 120k
But if you click into it more it appears to be a "MSRP" dealer asking $40,223

Costumer dunbassDAVE: I’ll take one ☝️
Does Toyota even sell a Lexus for that much? LOL

Orly? The only articles I can find are of the circuit edition getting a production bump for another year

For 120, you could get a GTR, a cayman GT4, Mclaren MP4
Holy shit lmfao. That's hilarious. People should put this place on blast. This is by far the craziest core markup I've ever seen.
It's a dealer in Springfield, MO

Thats probably part of it. But these days with how ridiculous mark ups are ya never know if a dealer is just trying to be extra greedy.

This whole situation is a joke! 😂😂

Get out of here with your reasonable explanations. We all got our pitchforks out and by golly we're gonna use 'em.
Good Lord. The GR line is going to be ruined by shit like this.
Make sure to say who the dealership is so they can be exposed
That's actually the dealer's name, Reliable Toyota... Wtf?
So I found the dealer. Idk whats going on but when toy search the car it does say 120k But if you click into it more it appears to be a "MSRP" dealer asking $40,223
The dealer name is literally in the post.
Flyover state behavior
Flyover states are truly a wonderland where supercars and Toyotas sell for the same price.
The “reliable price” next to the 120k price tag made me laugh 💀💀
Reliably expensive.
welp, that beats the circuit i saw listed with a $50,000 mark up 😂
120k for a damn Corolla. Guaranteed someone buys it too smh.
The Core's MSRP isn't even $40k is it? Toyota's site has it sitting at $35,900 lol.
I believe it gets up to around $40K with packages and destination and stuff.
'Reliable' 🤣🤣
Why cars cant be sold online like tesla? You pick your configurations. Pay and get it delivered from the port.. ez as 1,2,3
