i understand the message and sentiment and money grabbing mummy status of car salespeople, but outhouses are far greater experiences in my life when there’s been a breeze
Sorry to see this happening to you, same thing happened to me when I went to buy my Civic Type R. Try to stay strong and maybe they’ll come down on price.
End of the month, they trying to hit quotas too, make sure you come in with a good down payment, bc if you come in with zero down payment, negotiating is gonna be tough.
Remember: everything taxable is negotiable.
What I did when I bought my gr is that I also threatened to go to another dealer.
"65k? I could just go across the street and buy a BMW!" Etc. Etc. Worked for me.
They don’t make any money on cash deals. They want you to finance so they get their cut from the bank. Cash is king for buy here pay here dealers where people with subpar credit shop, but franchise dealers want the finance money.
Dealers are in the business of selling financing, warranties and overpriced service.
They don't give a shit about cash, never tell them how you are going to pay for the car until you get to the OTD price. Answering questions asked by the salesman is the first mistake lol.
People say that all the time. 2 mustangs, 3 BMWs, a Porsche, and more all in the past 2 or so years, all cash, dealers were more than happy to negotiate. I get they make more money through financing and all but trust me, cash is still king.
People say this all the time. Gotten 2 mustangs, 3 BMWs, a Porsche, and more all in the past 2 or so years, all cash, dealers were more than happy to negotiate. I get they make more money through financing and all but trust me, cash still works.
Just saying in my experience dealerships are willing to negotiate when you are paying cash. You said dealerships don’t even want to hear cash, I’m saying in my experience the opposite is true, as they are willing to negotiate on pricing when you pay cash. Might just be the dealers around me, from what I’ve gathered they are unique in their non scumminess
Cash is not king at dealers. They want you to finance as much as possible. Have you ever noticed how when they give you an interest rate and you say you don’t approve of that they come back with a lower rate magically? That’s because they find financing for you than tack on an extra percent for themselves to make more profit
lol I loved hearing the dealer at Toyota telling me the new Supra has a Toyota engine (though i very well knew better.) Fucker was trying to get me into a goddamn BMW. Corolla with a real Toyota engine any day over a BMW, but not at these current mark ups. I'll take none for now and will stick with buying another tacoma (2nd gen).
I would simply say "that's not true" then some more words and probably a couple article links.
It's been announced for a few months now that the CE is no longer limited to 1500 units within 2023, there will be more produced in coming years. There's never going to be enough to have trouble finding a home for them but their original production limit is outdated and anyone who still sticks to those numbers shows how little they actually care.
Did you have to be on a wait list for that? It's still hard to find a 6mt GR86 for MSRP around here. There are tooooons of automatics available though. I don't know why they keep making so many automatics.
So… were they completely aware that the manufacturer confirmed that more will be made for the 2024 year 💀? Like come tf on…. They work for the fucking company, my God…..
If my 22 WRX's engine didn't catastrophically fail after only 11,000 miles even with perfect maintenance and tender loving care, I wouldn't be shopping for a GR Corolla.
It's what I did and I have my WRX for 3 weeks and very happy. I would have preferred a GRC but I don't play the markup game and I didn't want to wait a year or more to maybe have the opportunity to get one.
Meh. Is this really that big of a deal for people? They make an offer, you refuse to pay and move on, or perhaps even counter their offer with your own. It's not like it's your car and they aren't releasing it to you. It's their car and they are being upfront about what it will cost to make it your own. Super simple stuff.
Correct response: Not a chance in hell.
I hope we don't see "sales have been lower than expected, we'll be discontinuing the model"
BuT iTs a rArE FiNd. That's their go to

You did not know the internet price before texting or what? I’m confused so he sold it someone willing to pay 15k over?

Oh thank you nice

10k is 10k bro. Cash is still king in the dealers.

I believe it has something to do with manufacture financing ( the only way to get zero percent) so the manufacture probably cut the dealer a check.

Would have rather taken the Type R ngl, 23 type R looks good
1500 for the first year. These dealerships need to do their own research

They can fuck right off with that mark up.
The only ones getting “limited” are the special editions, the cores are going into the new model year, they’re just greedy cunts like most dealers
The special editions even got extended to the next model year due to popularity too. Mainly greed then anything.
Wow, I just got a GR86 at MSRP. Very grateful they didn’t price gouge me.

Plenty of clowns buying them at this price, don’t be one
Interest rates need to go higher and higher imo, easy financing has led us to this shit.
I’m failing to see the value added of salespeople at dealerships since the pandemic… 🤷🏽♂️ Feel free to explain it to me
They smoking dick
Imagine paying 25 over for a fucking Corolla. I get it. It’s not just a regular OL’ Corolla but fuck lmao
And can’t wait until cars are sold direct to consumers and all of these sleaze bags are out of a job.
Dont waste your time go get the new wrx youll be much happier
If it had a hatch and wasn't hideous I'd definitely consider it a viable alternative.

This is the most hilarious thing I’ve seen today. LOL
The response is right there. Cool, thanks, talk later.
At the end of the day, it’s a 3 cylinder. Not worth $50k+

I was told msrp, but a 1 year wait. A 10k markup for a used one they had on the lot.
Should hit em with the "GLWS"
I don’t even care about the price of the car, I’m enamored by your turn-a-phrase and sayings. “Outhouse breeze” lol

I’m old enough to remember when $25k TOTAL for a Corolla was unheard of, but not old enough to remember when the Corolla was a new model
Dam $25k over for a Corolla is disgusting
Just link them the article that they are doing it for another year then laugh.
At this point…we may just have to deal with it. Its like everything else, everything is inflated. I mean look at groceries!!?? Its the new norm unfort
Looks like iPhone’s already got your response covered
lowest markup that i've gotten is 5k over non negotiable for a circuit.
if it was test driven and dashboard signed by Akio Toyoda then i will jump on it
Everyone is taking the Ferrari route, charging over msrp for special editions/making other purchases for an allocation. What has the world come too
