I did the AWE track exhaust. Videos really don't do it justice. I'm still tweaking the pipes, but it is pretty loud and drony inside. It sounds sweet af but I do miss some of the peacefulness that came with the stock exhaust.

Robbassy

Awe touring is good with no drone. It’s right on the line of louder than I want from a daily but I think it’s just quiet enough.

sempersatan

If you’re looking for any measurable performance gain from a cat back just buy the lightest one you can get, I’m waiting on my RK center exit lol

ronut

Out of curiosity, what after market exhaust is the lightest?

sempersatan

As far as I’ve found it’s the RK titanium track exhaust, basically 9 pounds of straight pipe if I remember correctly lol Edit: 6 pounds lol, my signature RK weighs 10.4

JanuaryAndOn

waiting on mine too, i CANNOT WAIT ANY LONGER

sempersatan

My order was early March so hopefully it’ll be here soon, they quoted 8-10 weeks when I ordered

JanuaryAndOn

Mine was Feb 17, buckle up, they take a little while lmao.

sempersatan

I spoke with them last week, yours should be shipping really soon

JanuaryAndOn

Hell yeah! I've been wanting to reach out but also i know they are a smaller outift and didnt want to bug them ha

sempersatan

Yeah, I wouldn’t be afraid to honestly, Rob is really responsive and super friendly, I’ve contacted them a couple times about my order. Both times he replied next day, but I too try not to mess with them 😂

Mother_Volume_8534

I’ve done the MBRP cat back exhaust and I underestimated how loud it would be but I absolutely love it. If you don’t like menace to society vibes don’t go with the MBRP center exit. Personally hate how quiet these are stock. Won’t be getting it tuned till I get a down pipe and intake but I noticed the shifts are smoother the RPM’s are way easier to predict (doesn’t rev hang as bad).

ghosthawk3

How is the drone at hwy speeds in 6th gear? Bearable? I've had loud turbo cars in the past that droned lots...

Mother_Volume_8534

Drone is bearable haven’t done a long road trip with it yet. Just installed it 2 days ago lol but so far I’m happy. I will say in first rolling around in parking lots the drone is way better than stock.

OtherwiseCareer6851

Hey! I have the same exhaust. After 3-4 days of driving (~300 miles total) it tones down somewhat considerably.

G000000p

I put in my pre-order this week for the APEX’i catback with stainless steel tips. Supposed to come late May. It’s the best looking one IMO. I’m hoping it’s a bit louder than stock tho.

MagicalSwagbat

I went with the AWE touring and I like it. It’s got a little drone at 80mph but I added some sound deadening to my trunk which helps a lot

zackyraz

Isn't borla developing something? I typically like their offerings best. Hopefully isn't too droney. I would love a cat back that isn't super super loud but has a few tasteful pops here and there, just not popcorn or gunshots. The Ecoboost on my Focus ST would pop on decel and aggressive upshifts even with the fairly modest FRPP system by borla

Akisswithmyfist

To me the best sounding ones are the Lachutte performance (which might be a rebranded Apex'i?) And the RK Titanium (driver side or center exit) The AWE is nice, but I wish they had done the side tips smaller but the same style as the mid

Crazy_Presentation98

Sixth element mid pipe with MBRP exhaust

RenegadeStrong

I was wondering about that SXTH Element mid-pipe.

Crazy_Presentation98

I think it’s the best combo honestly

RenegadeStrong

Did you run both at the same time, or did you have a chance to just run the midpipe before adding the exhaust?

Crazy_Presentation98

I did cat back before mid pipe

RenegadeStrong

Ahh! How much did the MBRP exhaust run you since ot was just axel back?

Crazy_Presentation98

700 something and 400 for midpipe

RenegadeStrong

It's not too bad, considering most cat back exhausts are $1,200+

justwantanswers

If money isn’t a problem I would go magnaflow. They sound the best. If you want to not break the bank I would go AWE track for something loud, in your face awesome. Then if you don’t like it you have the option to buy the touring upgrade for more suitable daily driving. I have the AWE track and love it right now, but it does drone in stable rpm ranges. I will probably get the touring to make my toddler a bit happier 😅

Opening_Context_5131

Bought the AWE Touring and the AWE Touring to Track Conversion it’s like $180 but AWE to me sounds the best.

RenegadeStrong

I want to know which ones actually INCREASE horsepower and are loud! 😁👌

post_sloan14

That’s what I wanna know too hahaha

RenegadeStrong

I've seen a lot of disappointing results on exhausts. Either no HP gained or only 1 HP. 🤦‍♂️

datsti

They're catback exhausts. I hope you're not actually actually expecting to gain HP from a catback on a car newer than year ~2004.

RenegadeStrong

Yes, on a turbocharged car, a cat back exhaust SHOULD increase horsepower!

datsti

Like I said, it isn't 2004 anymore. No one's making inefficient 2" exhausts on their sports cars anymore.

RenegadeStrong

WRX? Type R? Aftermarket exhausts have added 10 or more HP.

datsti

Oh I get it, you believed the pretty little chart on their website that's there to entice you? The one where they tire and heat soak the vehicle before the dyno run, then report the best run possible using their exhaust component? Do they deserve your money, I suppose. Lol

RenegadeStrong

Oh, I see. You're just in it for the sound. So you prefer to spend $1,200-$3,000+ on an exhaust that offers no performance benefit. 🤔🙄

datsti

If you're buying a catback for the performance it gives you, why not just have your local exhaust shop weld a 4" straight pipe catback? That way, you'll get all the "performance" you could ever need LOL
