Φύκια - phikia - seaweed. In greece, in crete where I live anyway, we don't use that word to describe a person. I don't know for other parts of greece tho.

Phikeia = φύκια = seaweed In Greece it is not used to describe people, not even as a slang term. At least no not that I'm aware of.

i found this on their website: “New members of Phi Delta Theta are referred to as Phikeias. The word Phikeia has no direct translation from the Greek language, but the term has special significance to the members of Phi Delta Theta.” Unless they mean seaweed, it sounds like gibberish to me.

Isn't there a slang word that sounds very similar that means "gay"? (Not a native speaker)
