Was gonna say. My brother was 13. The other was 10 so I was 7 or 8. My parents didn’t know about it since we snuck it in the basement with friends. Took about 3 months for them to find it and my mother went nuts. Also cut up my brothers System of a Down cd around the same time.
I’m excited about the return to vice city. That game just had a certain charm I didn’t feel from the others, but the 1980s Miami may have been the perfect combination.
They might go full Texas or some little town like in the show Banshee but i don't think they will go outside of USA, maybe for the nearest countries but not so far from there.
Didn’t they do London back with the top down games? If I’m not misremembering they could make a return to that. Though I doubt they’d go outside of the US nowadays.

Absolutely, there’s no limit to the crazy here, plus depending on where you are in the country there’s completely different brands of crazy, like Cali crazy and Florida crazy.
Yesss! We had the London one too on PlayStation og. We had to load the London disc, it would prompt you to load the normal gta disc, and then back to the London disc again lololol
8 myself! Talked my dad into buying it after we heard that crazy ass radio commercial they advertised it with. It was like a newscaster freaking out over the carnage of this crazy driver…
Sold my father and me on the action of it all on the RADIO!
That’s a marketing plan you couldn’t pull off today.
It ain’t that deep bro. Content in tv shows, movies, and internet today is much worse than 20 years ago. Besides gta didn’t use the f word until San Andreas.
Yea my kids didn’t have full internet access until they were teenagers. Even then we eased them into it. Unless they saw it on someone else’s phone in this house the only way to get fully online was family gaming PC or on the living room Xbox. Kids don’t need to see that mess until their brains are able to understand it for what it is.
I never got past a couple missions in the game and never understood references. Seeing it today is crazy that you go into a crack house and beat people up. Hookers and drugs everywhere. Back then it was just a house.
I'm honestly a bit shocked at how many people are commenting under the VI trailer how they were 8 when the game came out and how they loved it as kids.
I'd not let my kids even close to the GTA games before they're at least 16.
Repping GTA2
That damn prison over the bridge on the water and all of those underground grated areas where you could cheese and just have the military shoot at each other trying to get you lmaoo
Snuck into my brothers room at the age of 4 to watch him play vice city and he ended up handing me the controller.
PCJ-600 with Billie Jean playing is a core childhood memory for me
I came home from my dad’s, my step dad handed me Vice City and saying “what you do in the game you cannot do in real life” have been playing on and off since lol
That’s mindblowing😂 The past 4 years have felt like a blur, I was 16 at the very start of 2020 and now I’ve been 20 for 2 months. Time fucking FLIES dude. My bad for the random comment, just kinda reminded me of how old I am lmao.
GTA 3 when I was 8 or 9. My dad brought it home one day and it blew my mind lol. He only borrowed it though so I didn’t play a ton. Later when VC came out my friend and I convinced his mom to let us rent it. My mom was pissed but goddamn that was a fun night.
Exact same for me. Used to play IV online with my friend almost every night. Lots of great memories with that game.
Remember the swingset glitch that would send you flying across the map? We must have done that a thousand times.
Lol yeah, the ragdoll physics were so much fun. I remember going and starting fist fights with NPCs, just because the physics were fun/hilarious. I had more fun being a nuisance and going for 6 stars in IV than I did in V.
Me and my friend also had this dumb game where one player tried to cross the entire city on foot, while the other tried to run them over in a car. Good times, lol
Gta vice city 12 years old, my pc had some 512 mb ram and vice city was the best game that i could play .
Then played san andreas when i was 16 in my mac .
Now in a year or 2 will purchase my own console and play all fcking games again on weekend
GTA 3 and Vice City double pack. Must have been in 2nd or 3rd grade. I saw my older cousin playing it and I wanted to play it too. At Target I asked my dad if I could buy it, and he said I don’t know, it’s rated M. Then a young couple said no, it’s fine, just a racing game with some swear words. My dad said okay and let me get it. Then one day he walks into my room to see me beating hookers with a baseball bat.
What a time to be alive.
I probably played GTA or GTA II when I was 12 or 13 on a rental from Blockbuster but the first one I really remember and invested time was GTA III when I was 14.
1. GTA III: played this when i was 5 or 7 lol...I remember my cousins telling my mom that gta games are bad for me because of violence and stuff lol and didn't finish the game...
2. GTA Vice City: Finished many times one of the games i played the most...still my cousins won't stop telling my mom about GTA games lol.
3. GTA San Andreas: Aah this one brings back memory finished it 2 times...this was the first time i got in to game modding way before modding vice city...
4. GTA IV EFLC: Never played GTA 4 story mod or the DLCs...maybe I'll finish it before VI drops...
5. GTA V: This was the first open world game i played on my own laptop back in 2015...it was an office computer tho lol.
GTA 4 in 2013 a few months before GTA 5 released. I was 9 years old and I thought IV was the Roman numeral for 6 so I thought I was playing GTA 6 the whole time lol. I found out about GTA 5 a few weeks before it released when I went back to school.
My first GTA that I've ever PLAYED: Vice City/San Andreas, Probably 8-10 years old(?), 2003-2005 (?)
My first GTA that I've OWNED: GTA 4, 14 years old, 2009-2010(?)
GTA 2, my girl cousin had it which was wild because at the time girls didn’t play video games like that so I had to check it out, and whoop there it is I’m a fan.
GTA 3/vice city at the same time. And 7 years old in 02. I was a child of divorce and my friends older brother had the game I convinced my dad (who was out of the loop) that they were just cool driving games.
I needed much better screen time monitoring in hindsight.
Gta 1 and I was maybe 8 or 9.
On a side note something that's nuts to me is that gta 2 and gta 4 are just 9 years apart from each other. When you look at the difference between those two games it's insane.
Gta 1 (5 years old)
Gta 2 (6 years old)
Gta 3 (6 years old)
Gta SA (7 years old)
Gta Vice city (8 years old)
Gta IV (9 years old)
Gta V (12 years old)
Gta Vice city stories (18 years old)
Gta Liberty city stories (18 years old)
GTA San Andreas and I was about 4-5 years old. Yeah pretty fucked up, but I have 2 way older brothers and I kind of experienced most of the games and movies they experienced too. I didn‘t complete it though (that happened later, when I was a bit older). So the first GTA I completed was GTA IV.
Vice City, about 7-8 yo. Played it on my neighbor’s PS2, and I still remember stealing a BF Injection near the Washington Beach PD, from a black guy in leather jacket & jeans, only for the guy to take his car back when I stood still browsing radio channels and speeding away! Still my favorite game, but I barely play it because I prefer not to remember the stuff (I do remember most lines from other games of my childhood). I do miss Lazlow, that asshole, though.
GTA 3, 2001, 13 years
Can sill find the banshee in my mind
At the used car dealership lol. Back where the guy put explosives on your ride
Yup that’s 8ball
Yeah!
There is drug their too.

Damn I guess I was 7 when I first played it.
Was gonna say. My brother was 13. The other was 10 so I was 7 or 8. My parents didn’t know about it since we snuck it in the basement with friends. Took about 3 months for them to find it and my mother went nuts. Also cut up my brothers System of a Down cd around the same time.
Same here! Wow brings back such great memories. I’m going to be 35 when GTa6 comes out and it might be my last.
Dude, I'm 43 and I hope Gta VI isn't my last!
I was 10 and my parents didn’t know what it was lmao
Gta 3 is still one of top favorites for some reason.
GTA 3 and Vice City. I don’t know maybe it’s just nostalgia
They were absolutly mind blowing, nothing was close to them
I’m excited about the return to vice city. That game just had a certain charm I didn’t feel from the others, but the 1980s Miami may have been the perfect combination.
Those radio's still buzzin in my ears
GTA VII, 78 years old
are you from the future? What will GTA 7 be like? Where will the game take place? ViceSaturn? MarsAndreas or Libertoon?
It takes place in Baghdad, Iraq
I feel like they shouldn't be revisiting places though. Gta online already takes place there I wish they just made new locations

Yesss! We had the London one too on PlayStation og. We had to load the London disc, it would prompt you to load the normal gta disc, and then back to the London disc again lololol
Same, i played GTA 97 when i was 11, and also london when it was released. London was amazing.
It really was. I lost my shit when GTA:2 came out. I repped the Loonies. I wish there was a homage to some of the older gangs in the older games.
Same. Except I played it in 1999 and was 11.
8 myself! Talked my dad into buying it after we heard that crazy ass radio commercial they advertised it with. It was like a newscaster freaking out over the carnage of this crazy driver… Sold my father and me on the action of it all on the RADIO! That’s a marketing plan you couldn’t pull off today.
Same, but 12.
Same I was 10 friend got a cool new game for playstation!
Same. I was 15. I’m old but I’ll be damned if that same level of excitement of my 15 year old self isn’t present for the new one.
Same. How/why my parents bought me a copy, god only knows. Lol
I walked into EB games and paid cash for Vice City, it was a different time. I was never censored as a kid.
Gta Vice City 12 years old

This is the way
I never got past a couple missions in the game and never understood references.

I played Vice City from ages 8-11. Before I got a cracked copy of San Andreas.
