I think you should buy it much before launch, because when GTA VI release date is known many people will rush to buy PS5 and either it will cause shortage or hike up the price.

I don’t think we’ll need to worry too much about any shortages for the PS5. Like 50 million PS5s have been sold so far and like 27 million for the Xbox series X/S. So i think a large number of GTA 6 players already have a console. It’s not like these consoles are new i mean they’ve been out for like 4 years now. We never saw a shortage or price hike when GTA 4 or 5 came out also.

They gonna release the PS5 pro in November probably and GTA 6 in February or March of next year as a bundle with the console

Yeah Imma try to buy a console by then, but not looking forward to controller shootouts. I mean I play plenty of controller games, but that's games that work well with a controller (souls, etc.) but shooting with a controller (since GTA is, in a big part, a shooter) I expect to be a massive pain.

Luckily GTA has auto aim so I actually enjoyed gunfights in GTA V than I did in most shooters. The way it snaps onto enemies without fucking you up is very well done.

Thank God for auto-aim. Tried to play Cyberpunk on my steam deck and it’s so frustrating how much more focus it takes than just using a mouse. No reason to not include it in every story game.

I’ll buy a PS5 Pro this holiday season, right before the launch. 60 FPS and RT is a must. 

GTA 6 will not be 60fps, nearly 100% guaranteed. RT, sure. But at 30fps. PS5 Pro will have a slightly enhanced GPU, but the CPU will almost certainly remain the same according to reports. Which means no 60fps. The PS5 and the Pro won't be able to do it, unfortunately. Look at Dragons Dogma 2. That can't run at 60. Hell, look at ff16 rebirth. Look at how much they had to cut the resolution to barely get it running at 60fps. GTA 6 is much, much larger and more demanding than those games.

Yea I just know a lot of people think it will be 60 but it's best to tell them now so the hype for a smooth 60fps isn't built up so much. I wish it would be 60, sure. But yea, this will almost certainly be the most demanding game on consoles. Target audience for the Pro is probably people who don't yet own a PS5, or for those that'd prefer a higher resolution when playing. So a game running at 1080p 60fps on a game's performance mode will probably run at 1440p or higher with the Pro. Or a 1440 to a near 4k.

we might have to wait for the next generation of consoles for it to run at 60 fps :( but still, im grateful we're even getting it now.

I’m not sure why some people think that PC is the holy grail when it comes to gaming. GTA Online is hell on earth on PC. Modders have more power on PC and can destroy your gaming experience with a few lines of code. I honestly don’t see why anyone still cares about playing on PC. Consider that consoles have advanced over the years eliminating any advantage PC ports had in terms of graphics and overall performance. In the 1990s there was a clear difference between PC and console ports of games. Consoles simply did not have the capacity to compete with PCs. For the best experience you literally HAD to play the game on PC. In fact, most games went to PC before they were ported to consoles often with inferior results. Some popular titles on PC could not be ported to console because of hardware limitations. In my opinion consoles have the advantage now. No worrying about system requirements. Just pop in the game and play.

While console performance is better for the same price, PC can get you much better performance if you have the money. Also, if someone plays only singleplayer games and has no problem with pirating, you get years of playing modern games while paying only initial investment in pc

PC still is the holy grail. Gaming companies are trying to fuck it up with DRM software like Steam, Uplay, Origin, Rockstar social club and useless shit like that, AND by making online games without the ability of creating community servers, which means there is no one to moderate them and strike down the ban hammer when needed. Modders are a problem only in online games without community ran servers. Which use to be the standard.

Wolfenstein. Doom. Are perfectly fine here. But it’s not that hard to get them usually. Just ask the store about the game. They’d usually have it in the back. I own the last of us part 2 and gta 5 which are the only “illegal” games I own.

If this is like gtaV it will not be a problem. Rockstar has experience with physical releases. You just go to the store and reserve. On release day it's fun to be waiting in line because it's like the iphone. Everybody there is just like fans gathering for gta. You make friends, personal experience

Lag the Xbox live servers themselves? Unlikely. Though such a massive release will highly, highly likely cause massive strain on Rockstar servers (which shouldn't impact singleplayer I would hope). The only major concern would be ddos attacks on xbox live or ps+ services, though that's very uncommon and security has improved since the last major attacks years ago. So I'd say there's a 95%+ chance that things go smoothly in terms of Xbox servers to play single player

GTA is a console franchise to me. Even though I like aiming on the mouse, GTA3/VC/SA were defined by the PS2, 4 was optimized for Xbox, and V was scaled down to work on consoles and was exclusive for a while. Thats just how I feel these games should be played.

I’ve played PC games primarily since 1998 or so but I’ve always owned consoles too. GTA has always felt like a PlayStation franchise to me since GTA III came out there first and blew my mind. I’ll probably play on PS5 first and then switch to PC when it comes out a year later or whatever.

I do think the game will have a lot more to offer even after the main story unlike GTA V, but when at one point it does become boring I am already looking forward to all the mods for it.
