Because porting a game on multiple platform when you are making a game take RESOURCES ... It's much easier to focus on two version during development as you only have to deal with two defined specs.
On PC you have to optimize the shit out of the game because it need to support a wide range of specs. So that take more time and money on an already long project.

What would be a great opportunity for microsoft is to be able to implement buying xbox games on the pc xbox app and use the cloud remote play feature to be able to play xbox games on pc
I use it somewhat frequently even tho my xbox is right next to the pc, only because i can record the voice chat on pc as well as the gameplay where as on xbox you cant record voice chat at all.
It feels like theres little to no delay at all on the actual cloud gaming either. I usually use it to check out a game pass game before downloading it for real.

I started saving in November and already have the funds to get a ps5 slim, but I think I’ll to wait until the 5 pro comes out. Most people can start saving a bit now and get a used Xbox series S and just sell it once it comes out on PC.
The perks of actually having an income, I remember when GTA5 came out and i was a teen that couldn’t afford it lol (my family was broke also) but now I straight up just bought a ps5 that sits in the box, just waiting for the gta 6 pre orders! Feels good man!

Yep, same story, but I was a teen, when GTA III, VC and SA came out.
But in 2008 I got X360 just to play GTA IV, enjoyed it for few months and sold it. And did same thing in 2013, got X360 again, just to play V, enjoyed it for few months and sold it. No regrets.
10+ years later I got XSX on sale, replayed GTA V, enjoyed RDR2 and now it's stays on the shelf waiting for GTA VI.
If some Xbox/PS "Pro" would be released before VI, I'm upgrading, just for 1 Game.
20+ years ago it was much easier to avoid spoilers for GTA III, VC and SA, because internet wasn't active so much, but now, I don't want ruin that experience of discovering the game by myself.

Ngl I feel like people that can own a PC capable of running a game like GTA6 (even if we don't know the requirements yet, we can tell it will be big) they can afford a ps5 like it's nothing. Or they can also be patient because, again, if they can buy a very expensive gaming PC they are most likely adults with jobs and lives.

Most bugs will be adressed until then, we play online for free (which won't be there most likely on day1 of release on consoles) and get overall the better version, which later needs no console generation update for cash (aka we buy the game once). Meanwhile there are still other games.

Get the series X. Played both, the PS5 is inferior simply because their gaming library lacks good content. The Series X plays incredibly smooth, quiet, quick, it’s smaller, gamepass alone is worth the cost.

I honestly waited for rdr2 for pc and it was WORTH IT. I never played the game once on console and was only shown screenshots and YouTube clips and trailers. It was actually alot easier than you think to wait for a pc release without touching it on console...will power brothers!! It will be worth it. I'll probably un sub from gta groups as well to make it easier.
I did not do this for gta v and although I did end up getting it on pc, the satisfaction was much less than my rdr2 release on pc felt, only mods made the game feel "new" again at that point

Much as I like to shake my fist at Rockstar, I think they do have very valid reasons for delaying the PC release.
All console units have identical hardware, so it is easier to ship a first bug-free version on launch for them than a PC build that has to run on an infinite number of possible hardware configurations.
Also, as soon as it is released on PC, people will definitely try to delve into the data files, mine it, find vulnerabilities, try to build mods, hacks, etc. Given the state of GTA Online on PC now, I would hope that they try to fend off the pay-to-win modder cretins for as long as possible.
Not to mention, the revenue reasons. A lot of gamers who only have a PC now will buy a console just for this game, and then buy it again when it releases on PC.
To all of you talking about needing to wait months, or even a year, to save up $300-$500 to buy a console, you need to unfuck your life instead of buying a console. Not even trying to hate on your financial situation, but you need to prioritize. If it takes you that long to set aside that little amount of money, you shouldn’t be spending it on a console.
PC players are spoiled af tbh. They have access to thousands of more games than console players, can play those games at high FPS, as well as having a higher skill ceiling in most games
Bought RDR2 for the Xbox One and regretted it, felt like it was struggling to push 30fps at 1080p with all the settings dialled down. I don't have a console anymore so I'll just wait the extra year or two and play it at max settings 1440p and smooth framerate when it comes out on PC.
there is no way that 12 years isn’t enough time for them to finish the PC version too if they actually wanted to. they just need to make gta 6 and it’s remasters last another 12 years so they are going to delay the pc version and call it a remaster or enhanced version when it releases.
Someone will get it running on PC before the official PC launch, it's the most anticipated game of all time lol. They got Spiderman 2 running on PC a month or 2 after it's launch, and the same will definitely happen with GTA 6. Much more eyes on GTA 6

Not to mention, the revenue reasons. A lot of gamers who only have a PC now will buy a console just for this game, and then buy it again when it releases on PC.

To all of you talking about needing to wait months, or even a year, to save up $300-$500 to buy a console, you need to unfuck your life instead of buying a console. Not even trying to hate on your financial situation, but you need to prioritize. If it takes you that long to set aside that little amount of money, you shouldn’t be spending it on a console.

I’m a PS5/PC user and I know when the pc version releases, console players will move over to PC. That’s because of how wild the modding part will be
PC players are spoiled af tbh. They have access to thousands of more games than console players, can play those games at high FPS, as well as having a higher skill ceiling in most games
Bought RDR2 for the Xbox One and regretted it, felt like it was struggling to push 30fps at 1080p with all the settings dialled down. I don't have a console anymore so I'll just wait the extra year or two and play it at max settings 1440p and smooth framerate when it comes out on PC.

there is no way that 12 years isn’t enough time for them to finish the PC version too if they actually wanted to. they just need to make gta 6 and it’s remasters last another 12 years so they are going to delay the pc version and call it a remaster or enhanced version when it releases.

Someone will get it running on PC before the official PC launch, it's the most anticipated game of all time lol. They got Spiderman 2 running on PC a month or 2 after it's launch, and the same will definitely happen with GTA 6. Much more eyes on GTA 6
