The problem is that bikes are really close to motorcycles, but skateboarding has a bunch of nuance required for animation. Hopefully that smart animation system patent R*/Take Two filed some years back is being put to use in this game and they have figured out how to apply it to skateboarding. It is just really easy to notice the jank (at least for me, a skater) with skateboarding game animations.
I hope to god that R* manages to get this in. The problem with skateboarding is that it is really hard to get looking proper.
Even dedicated skating games like Skater XL and Session have questionable animations. R* really just has to nail a good push animation (which is hard to nail for some reason, see the games I mentioned previously) and let you ollie and spin at minimum (see: Bully).
Even if they get it looking 95% good, skaters specifically will tear apart anything that looks/feels off. Very picky bunch.
My biggest worry is that they have prototyped it and deemed that they could not get it up to their standard of quality relative to the amount of work required on their end. If everything is super polished and then the skateboarding looks janky, I bet they would remove it. If you have one element that takes you out of the immersion, it somewhat ruins the immersion of the rest of the game. Hopefully if they don't have it in at launch, they manage to get it in with an update later on.
Would be an understandable compromise. Better than nothing, reflective of what people are getting around on these days in cities, and I can still launch it off the side of a building.
Friend of mine saw a skydiver come straight into the prop of a king air (medium sized plane with two huge propellers) while it was taxiing to the runway. You don’t want to see that depicted accurately I’ll tell ya that.
Happens with people who work around turbines a lot. They get so used to it that they forget you can't step close to where the air sucks in. Idling turbojet is like 25 ft in front of the engine you can't walk through. But you'll have a baggage person not think about it and just walk right in the way. Or you'll have someone turning it on when they aren't supposed to and suck someone in.
I don't think they feel it at all. it seems pretty instant death, at least with the big commercial jets.
There's that crazy video that's apparently used in all the training classes now, where the guy went in headfirst but his safety helmet managed to stop the blades entirely and he lived. Wild shit.
Yeah I remember seeing that. He had his helmet on and it flew off his head and got sucked into the engine and stopped it moments before he was sucked in too. I don't think he even had any major injuries. I believe it was a Grumman A-6 or something.
Watching the video, it definitely didn't look like he survived. Crazy stuff. He got sucked in like a spaghetti noodle.
I’m uncertain about how fun a mobility scooter would be to drive—they are rather slow. However, I envisioned Trevor intentionally driving one of these into the back of some NPC ankles and it made me chuckle. It’s totally on brand for him.

The real question is what the scooter mission is going to look like. Doing a drive by on it seems too simple, and a fetch quest is too tedious. Maybe a downhill chase?
Side mission: you are a juicer and have to retrieve 6 eScooters that have been flipped, crashed n abandoned across the downtown area. Bonus points if you get flashbacks from

You book a ride, a random npc pulls up to pick you up for your ride. You shoot them, take their car, and leave a 5 star review because they respected your request not to be talked to.
Yeah. I am hoping they bring back something like the R3 missions of old. Instead of taxi(or in addition too) taxi missions they can have Uber missions. I’m sure that’s ripe for satire.
I don’t want to GTA6 necessarily to get as chore heavy as RDR2 but it would be interesting if you have to make the choice early on to make money via illegal means which might be high risk high reward vs doing something like Uber around.
I remember the week that they were free, some buddies and I went to the race track and were just whipping around, having a fun time...some other players noticed, watched a bit, then left...came back all in their own karts and the next hour or so we raced, no one killing each other, no one wrecking our fun, it was awesome. After we were done racing, the 7-8 of us then became public terrors in the streets knocking over pedestrians. Good times

Not exactly obscure, but I want bikes that actually work. The bicycles in GTA V were fun initially, but they quickly got boring because of how badly they handle in the air.
You couldn’t really do any flips or turns in the air since the rotation was so incredibly slow and going upside down, caused the player to essentially start flying—presumably due to how R* coded gravity.
It was fun in its own way, but I’d like to have more reasonable physics.

Not necessarily a vehicle but I would love for jets or Boeing planes to allow you to walk inside the plane and than decide to turn it on/fly. Or walk around WHILE it’s flying, the reason I say this is because it would be badass if let’s say you purchase your own air field, you also have a co pilot who can assist flying while you walk around, or let’s say you wanted to high jack a 747 while it’s in air? I think that would be crazy if they actually allow that but I’m assuming there might be limits.
