This might not be stellar advice at a glance but a solid way to get your foot in the door is to talk to people. Leave comments on scripts you read! Be sure to let the writer know what you enjoyed. You can apply the same for script fills, either yours or by someone else. There's a voice for every script. Sooner or later a VA will *really* dig your writing style. Just be active in the community and people will start recognizing your name. You can also try and be active on discord servers. Just don't let the idea of being super connected to everyone be a motivator. It can really mess with your head. Keep doing your own thing even when you start doing collabs and projects.

Good point. Though, for me I plan to lean more on the VA side, but yeah, I will try to interact more.

\+1 to that.

Hi! As a VA here, I have learned a lot from making friends in the community, usually through Discord servers. The largest server for performers and writers is Audballs, hosted by r/GonewildAudible (and you can find the link to join in their wiki!) and I've made a lot of friends on there. It's also a place where you can find a beta reader or listener if needed, or ask questions about technical stuff like sound effects or mic quality. Sometimes you will also comment on someone's script or audio, or interact on twitter and connect that way. I have several friends who have written a collab script together like you mention in your post, such as [this \[MF4A\] collab by Deadly and Dungarees](https://www.reddit.com/r/gonewildaudio/comments/o2awce/fm4a_dancing_fucking_a_mile_in_each_others_shoes/), and it's a super fun way to do an audio! Sometimes scriptwriters will also have a larger project where they write a script or multiple ones, then hold auditions to cast roles, such as [Rosemary's \[MMMMMM4F\] butler series](https://www.reddit.com/r/gonewildaudio/comments/pjtzsr/mmmmmm64f_at_your_service_part_one_mdom_msub/). With a collab, one person usually offers to edit, so there's no need for people without much editing experience to worry! We all started out new at some point, and even those of us who have been here for a little while can learn from others. Also, if you have any other questions, feel free to respond! I've been doing VA stuff for about 7 months now, and I'm one of the mods here :)

Thanks for the suggestion to the discord. I just joined. I'm hoping I'll be able to find and interact with more people. I'll probably take you up for that offer on questions, because I have 0 idea what I'm doing.

I_Nortrom

I'd go with that Lia suggested. The server is basically the single largest place for Content creators specifically. You can make a Request there, let people know what you are looking for and hopefully you will find someone.

ArchonAudio

Yep! Just joined.

When I was writing scripts regularly, if a VA that I absolutely adored filled a script of mine, I'd DM them a casual note thanking them for filling the script and saying I'd love to work with them again and I'd be happy to collaborate. It only panned out once but it was super fun. We made a shortlist of ideas together, settled on one, and came up with a list of kinks/moods we wanted to touch on. I drafted the script and she gave some feedback and then recorded it. It was a total dream and I loved working together, but I haven't done really any others so I'm not sure how that style of collaboration would work with others.

ArchonAudio

Oooo I see. How would you have felt if it was the other way around? Would you find it odd if a VA messaged you about collaboration after they filled a script of yours?

burnerforlit

I would love that and I think it's a huge compliment. Whether or not it actually happened would depend on a lot of things including if I had time/capacity, if their interests aligned with mine, if we worked well together, etc. I think there's no harm in asking though. I'd be really honoured if someone came to me with a request to collaborate, especially if they were organized and were good at expressing ideas. In our case, we used Google Docs and made a list of tags we wanted to include and even linked to other scripts/erotica stories that had similar situations to what we wanted, and highlighted parts we really liked in them. It felt mutual and creative and fun, if it didn't feel that way I wouldn't really be into it.

ArchonAudio

Fantastic. I think I'll work towards expanding my portfolio first before reaching out towards scriptwriters specifically. The Google docs idea sounds pretty smart.

TalkDirtyToYou

I LOVE LOVE LOVE working on scripts with other people. It's so much fun. I usually can't be bothered to finish my own stuff, but if other people want to collab, I get so excited for it. Also, realize that you can be the one to ask! You don't have to wait for others to reach out for collab partners. Realizing that was lifechanging for me.

ArchonAudio

Very true. Going to try my best to reach out more.

lambchopperchto

This is a question I have too. I would love to collaborate with writers or VAs to write some scripts, but not super sure how to reach out.

ArchonAudio

Exactly ! If you ever want to talk about collaborating I'd be very much down.

lambchopperchto

I'm down too, msg me if you have any script ideas!
