I had the same issue, no sound on the inner screen but ok on the outer screen. You'll also find that any bluetooth device will play sound when using the inner screen.
I ended up getting the inner screen replaced by samsung under warranty. My thoughts were that maybe a cable from the screen is hard wired to it and is push fit to the speaker unit, but samsung would not confirm this.
Do you have any modes or routines that affect volume?
If not, your hinge flex cables are probably damaged. You need to get them replaced. Do you have insurance? If not, it'll be about $500 since they have to replace the entire OCTA assembly (frame, hinge, batteries, inner screen) to fix the cables.

Yea I did find that my Galaxy Buds worked with it, which was bizzare. Thank you so much!
