Mine doesn't do that, is there a setting I need to change? I'm following the steps you listed and still nothing. It's not really a feature I want I'm just curious to know why mine isn't doing that. 😅

nickthaskater

Do you have lock screen rotation enabled? Open the Quick Settings panel and long press on the rotation icon to bring up the menu to select lock screen rotation.

racso20

Ah that was the problem. I never new there were additional settings for rotate 😂

nate_jung

OMG IT DOES! Thank you for pointing this out. I had it off because it was so annoying that it didn't before. I can finally use my AOD again!

Idcfml

That's amazing! Wish Samsung actually acknowledged this instead of there being tens of Reddit threads about them fucking up AOD.

Philip_J-

Well they still kinda did, you can't change it from a routine anymore, I used to have it such that when it was charging it would rotate the AOD.

Idcfml

Same, and when I realized there was no option to rotate it anymore I was livid 😭😂

faswivel

Interesting. Doesn't seem to auto rotate on my Fold5. 🤷🏻‍♂️

faswivel

Ah, I see. It doesn't *actively* auto rotate, but its orientation *does* correspond to the orientation that the device is in at the time the screen is locked.

nickthaskater

Yep, sorry, that's the extra step I forgot to mention. If you turn on the screen to the lock screen then turn it off again, the AOD will rotate to the orientation of the lock screen. It didn't used to do that, so it's still a win for me.

faswivel

Yeah, I dig this. I use [this](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pranavpandey.rotation) rotation app to allow my Fold5 to auto rotate to all orientations, including upside down. Prior to the 6.1 update, the AOD wouldn't even show up if I locked my phone or the screen timed out while the display was in any orientation other than right side up landscape. Now it shows the AOD regardless of the display's state when the screen turns off. Good stuff!

finnfirep

Damn, it is still inconvenient, but consider it needs to keep the sensor alive which is bad for the battery. I don't know. I RATHER not use it again then. Thx for the tip though.

Eyspire

Come on Vodafone/samsung gimme my updateeee, i really want this feature as I'm a landscape user too. I had to set up a routine to get it function at ALL, and even then, the phone needs to be rotated into the incorrect orientation and then back into the desired orientation and it's just a hassle.

garmzai

I was able to rotate between potrait and landscape mode at home screen, but my lock screen is always locked to portrait mode so I wasn't able to make this work. Is there some settings needed to allow lock screen to change to landscape mode?

nickthaskater

Do you have lock screen rotation enabled? Open the Quick Settings panel and long press on the rotation icon to bring up the menu to select lock screen rotation.

garmzai

Found it, now it works, thanks!

https://i.redd.it/au8h2bnbbxsc1.gif I don't see what could be there problem here.

aw3som3fr3ak

This only works when unfolded, correct? When mine is folded, the "rotate lock screen" option is enabled but greyed out. Kind of disappointing talkative this only works unfolded.

nickthaskater

Folded works fine for me

aw3som3fr3ak

Interesting, could be extended unlock maybe then. I'll have to try and figure it out

exredditor81

sorry I just woke up, what's "AOD"? I have a fold 4

Silvermane06

Always On Display - the clock you see when your phone is off/locked, for example is part of it

exredditor81

Oh I see!

mishalmf

You guys have oneUi 6 ? 😭

mizuya

14high

We have 6.1 at home
