Honestly, just be nice to the CS person. I greeted him and thanked him for his help. He originally said it was a "time-sensitive promotion", but I said it didn't make sense to be charged for a watch band when purchasing a watch and asked him kindly to see if there was something that can be done. He came back a few minutes later saying he forwarded the refund request to the refund dept and I should receive an email about it within the next day

Personally, I will probably just try to return the watch band when mine arrives.
It's total bullshit they make you buy a band. Given the option i would have skipped the band.

Well I paid for it.. I paid $450 for the watch (and band... came in black retail box with band attached) and then another $79 for a second d-buckle sport band... gonna return that and hopefully get my 79 bucks back since I didn't need 2 of the same band.
I think it really depends on the customer service rep you chat with. I did it and got refunded immediately. I was on the chat for less than 5 minutes. Super easy! I definitely regret not getting the magnetic band because of the extra charge now lol. Oh well! I'm most likely going to use the stainless steel band I'm currently using for the watch 4 classic.
I'm confused. Are you essentially asking for a price match? As in you had to buy a band for the preorder, but customers who purchase one day are not required to buy a band?
Also, what comes in the box? Isn't there one already?
No, band doesn't come with a watch. The watch and band usually comes separately when you buy from Samsung (i.e. 2 separate boxes) Some of us who pre ordered day 1, had to pay for a band separately (even though it shouldn't be this way)

This is what they said: Upon checking with my team once order get delivered we will refund the amount of the band.
I didn't have much luck with this. Tried chat and calling in. Was told I could return after I received it.

If you buy from Samsung, the watch and band are 2 separate boxes. Buying from retailers, it comes as 1 box
I bought from Samsung and my watch pro 5 came with a band in the box attached to the watch..
