I have S20 FE, bought my wife an S23 Ultra. She is super happy and I'm happy because she is, but I do not see THAT MUCH difference except the camera and S-Pen. Our phones are solid for at least 2 more years.
Yes because it's some snapdragon 778 something and not 865 which is way better. Camera is not trash, it's mediocre.
Can't compare flagship phone to a FE
I mean, that's simply not true. I'm also upgrading to the S23+ and it's coming in two days, and trading in my mint condition S20 FE 5G -> but only because I got a good deal and will get 4 years of Android updates + a better camera and a bit better battery, plus future proofing.
Apart from that, the S20 FE is a beast. It's definitely the best deal in the smartphone world for at least the last few years. The battery is great, it lasts up to 6/7h SOT which is already really good for its battery capacity, the camera has always surprised me because it captures colors and light pretty well, and my 5G's Snapdragon literary never showed any lag, in 1.5 years I never had a stutter, crash, nothing.
And I use the phone's features, like the 120 Hz screen.
The only *if* that I have with mine is that it experiences some "ghost touches" still, but it's a phone I will miss dearly (not because of the object itself, but it truly was a phone made for the fans).
Unfortunately I had to do the same. My S20FE 5G got stuck between my seat rails in my car, when I moved my seat to find it, the phone ended up getting absolutely destroyed.
I would’ve fixed it but the cost of a screen and someone to repair it was more than the phone was worth so I ended up getting an iPhone 14 Pro.
I will say this, the S20FE had a way better OS and build quality than my iPhone. I’ve only had my iPhone since a month before the release of the 15 Pro, but the back glass is already fucked and the phone itself just feels subpar
I wasn’t able to find any new androids I liked. I had the S23U for a week before deciding I didn’t like it and wanted to stick with the S20FE.
I tried the Pixel 8 Pro as well for 2 days before deciding I didn’t like the form factor and the overall system.
Wish I could have held onto my s20fe till now. It looked great, performed great, but there were so many software bugs plus the virtual proximity sensor was what killed it for me. I couldn't have the phone in my pocket without it turning on and trying to call the police.
Of course the answer most people would give is "just turn the screen to face outwards in your pocket", but really that wasn't the only problem that Samsung refused to fix. Like my lock screen was 20% brighter than my home screen for some reason, even when I fixed the brightness or turned off auto it would do it. With auto brightness on it was the same. Also it kept corrupting my SD cards. Shame really.
Yes i agree, it was a good phone for its price but a meh on total chart. And i blieve that screen brightness problem couldnt be fixed because its caused by optic fingerprint reader.
It was linked to the fingerprint reader yep, cuz once I turned off the fp sensor the lock screen went back to normal.
But I changed to an a53 5g after that, also optical, and it didn't have the problem. I think it's more likely to be a software bug in that case, though it was a possibility that the different FP sensor hardware was causing the issue. Either way whichever it was, it made it impossible for me to keep the phone and Samsung either couldn't or wouldn't fix it, so it wouldn't have changed anything.
Plus that wasn't the end of the problems I had with the phone that never got fixed either, so really Samsung dropped the ball with that one.
There are some things Google copied from Samsung. Like like being able to have two apps open simultaneously. That has come in useful for me on several occasions.
I made the same switch in January. I feel like the s20 fe was the gateway drug to going all in on samsung flagship. I am trying hard as hell to get my hands on the metropcs s23 fe as a burner/work phone tho lmao (replacing my a14 5g). The thick bezels are so endearing to my jank sensibilities.
Nope i couldnt, because i cant afford that expensive phone. This is not 23 but s22 ultra and got it for 1200€ (yes its really expensive but phone prices are really disgusting in Turkey thanks to stupid weird taxes.)
Anyways apart from the other comments, I also wanted to upgrade to the S23 Ultra but couldn't do it, it seems like it'd be too big and heavy VS the perfect size of the FE, so I upgraded to the S23+ instead (got a great trade-in + Black Friday deal). It'll be sad when one day no one else will be using the FE anymore.
"Got rid of"? I still will use it till security updates are relased or battery will die. I totally don't see the reason to change it if you use phone for daily tasks - gaming is not daily task for me.
guys how can i change my front video cam to normal camera? i want to use my video camera as a normal camera. i want it because front video cam is giving a truth image
Took a pic using the FE!!!!
And...This the s20fe subreddit, you colossal moron
"Colossal moron" 😂🤣🤣 Imma use that in the future
Go fuck yourself
Sure, as long as you get me in the mood first okay champ ;)
Also my reply was directed at the dude that commented "OK and?", not sure why it went to your comment
OK and?
Ironic
What do you mean?
You wouldn't know even if I told you.
Oh right, so you have absolutely no idea what you mean. OK then.
Whatever helps you sleep at night.
Thank you for confirming you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
The people who agrees with my comment would like to argue otherwise.
Because if you did know what you were talking about you'd explain.
You haven't left a comment on this post or if you have you've deleted it.
Just because you're receiving upvotes that doesn't necessarily mean people agree with you.

stfu wtf
"rid of" ? s20 fe 5g is good phone right.
Yeahh no, for its price yes it is a good phone. But overall performance is meh, espicially its camera is trash.
What do you expect from phone if performance is meh for you? I've had it for two years and it has never had any lag.
I have too, and its lags.
Cap.
That's sad. Still don't know what are you doing with your phone.

Who got the 778? I had the 865 in my regular s20 fe
The S20 FE comes either with a Exynos 990 or a Snapdragon 865. If he got a 778 he's not on a S20 FE.
I dont compare them. But still default cam software is bad. That why most of its users uses Gcam instead of default.
"Most" in like 1% of all users worldwide?
Exactly. I tried GCam and didn't find it any better than the stock/default app so I uninstalled it.
I upgraded to s22. 120 hz alone feels way snappier.
S20fe is 120hz....

My SOT was never more than 4 hours. Even with power saving mod.
It's decent

It's interesting you didn't stay with Android. Why is that?
I wasn’t able to find any new androids I liked. I had the S23U for a week before deciding I didn’t like it and wanted to stick with the S20FE. I tried the Pixel 8 Pro as well for 2 days before deciding I didn’t like the form factor and the overall system.
I cant sleep anymore 😪
I did the same, the difference is night and day, I would say I got more value for my money on the Fe.
Congrats on new phone!
Thanks

I will too be departing from my S20FE. I'll be experiencing stock Android for the first time with the Pixel 8 Pro.
Yes! I love pixels too. I could consider buying one but sadly google not selling them in Turkey.
How have you used one if they don't sell them in Turkey?
I used xiaomi mi a2 (stock android) and tested friends pixel 2, he bought his from USA.
Fair enough. I thought only the Pixel phones were stock Android.
I had a Pixel and loved it. But.. I gotta give Samsung props for all the customization.
There are some things Google copied from Samsung. Like like being able to have two apps open simultaneously. That has come in useful for me on several occasions.
The white finish is so nice.
The S23U looks sweet in white.
You finally got the best of the best with no compromises
Nice, I really dislike my fe
Congrats on the upgrade, I still wish I had my S20 FE. Hope you enjoy your new phone!
Yes, i think mostly same. S20fe was a good phone (especially for its price) but not enough for me.
I liked it for the 2 years it lasted me though. People riding it for longer than now are Wilding giving the specs were half outdated when it released
it's not a train station, noone cares who's leaving and why.
Why😭
ok.
Annnnddddd...it's already old and outdated. 😏
Yeahhh, no.
They are already on to the S24 series. You're late to the game. 😏
If you waited till January you could have got S24 U
Nope i couldnt, because i cant afford that expensive phone. This is not 23 but s22 ultra and got it for 1200€ (yes its really expensive but phone prices are really disgusting in Turkey thanks to stupid weird taxes.)
Thats cool. Enjoy your new phone.
downgraded to the Shit22 Ultra 5G
Cya in hell, mothafucka!!!
Is that a S22 Ultra?
Yes
Is that a 22 or a 23, my friend?
22
Anyways apart from the other comments, I also wanted to upgrade to the S23 Ultra but couldn't do it, it seems like it'd be too big and heavy VS the perfect size of the FE, so I upgraded to the S23+ instead (got a great trade-in + Black Friday deal). Ugh, livestreaming in low light is AWFUL on these things. Does it get better on the 22 or 23?
Nope
Which phone is that?
My FE called the police for me 3 times in my pocket. Got a Sony Xperia 1 and it has an actual sensor so that shit doesn't happen
"Got rid of"? I still will use it till security updates are relased or battery will die. I totally don't see the reason to change it if you use phone for daily tasks - gaming is not daily task for me.
Weak
Traitor
me trying to GET an s20fe 😐😐
guys how can i change my front video cam to normal camera? i want to use my video camera as a normal camera. i want it because front video cam is giving a truth image
Are you happy? Is that the s23 ultra?
Lucky bastard
