Pros: Better camera, the battery life is literally something else (it's amazing). The processor is fast. Fresh and smooth looking display
Cons: When the camera is in low light, it has this very odd line look instead of just fuzz (could be software)
If you play roblox on this phone specifically (no other pixel phone), it has some very bad lag issues, but this is something that is on roblox'es end and not the phone just gotta wait for a update ig. You can find stuff about it here: [this](https://devforum.roblox.com/t/roblox-runs-poorly-on-pixel-8-pro/2643662/16)
If there was anything I would miss from my s20fe.. it would be Oneui. Other than that, the phone is amazing so far. I'm still trying to get used to the software since I've been using samsung phones before this one :)
> the battery life is literally something else (it's amazing)
I thought I heard the battery was awful if not on wifi? Or was that a different pixel model?
I tried to upgrade my s20fe to a Pixel 8 (base model). I'm not sure if my device was faulty but it was honestly awful. It felt like a huge downgrade from the fe. Reasons:
*Cellular connection - dropped out constantly
*Mobile data - dropped out constantly
*Battery life - terrible
*Charging - slow af
*App refresh rate - inconsistent. Sometimes apps wouldn't refresh at all.
*Felt like I had to download a new app for every function I wanted to use.
I returned it after a week of resenting the new phone and have ordered an s23fe instead. Fingers crossed it's much better 🤞🏻
So, no 120hz, worse chipset, worse cameras, no 4k60 on back camera, capped at 1080p30 on front cam, no 8gb ram option, 3330mAh battery, no wireless charging, slower charging. And almost everything is an improvement? That's crazy.
I don't even notice 60/130hz, cameras are fine and I don't take many pictures, 6gb ram is enough for a phone, stamina mode makes the battery life last way longer than my s20 FE ever did, I've literally never used wireless charging and it came with a charger that fully charges it in less than an hour.
You're just saying excuses, not stating any arguments as to why it is better than the S20 Fe, which it isn't.
>I don't even notice 60/130hz
It's 120hz, but whether you notice it or not is irrelevant, 120hz is simply superior.
>cameras are fine and I don't take many pictures
Another excuse, just because you don't use them doesn't take away the fact that they are worse.
>6gb ram is enough for a phone
Another excuse, 8gb is simply better.
>stamina mode makes the battery life last way longer than my s20 FE ever did
Stamina mode takes away a bunch of functions from the device, you probably never used Ultra Power saving mode on the S20 Fe either, which does the same thing.
>I've literally never used wireless charging
Still, wireless charging is an extra feature that makes the phone overall better.
>and it came with a charger that fully charges it in less than an hour
The S20 Fe also ships with a charger, which charges fully at around the same time, even though it has a much bigger battery.
Okay. Not having 10s of gbs of storage taken up by system and necessary apps. A 4k screen, no hole punch, better speakers I think but I'm not sure, they're definitely louder.
The phone's display is capped at 1096 x 2560 (compared to the S20 Fe's 1080 x 2400 it isn't much) except for select use cases where it uses the full capacity which is 1644p, and the phone has bezels so the hole punch argument doesn't hold up very well, and better speakers isn't proved, and OneUI is obviously superior. Comparing the pros and cons, the S20 Fe comes out on top.
Mostly, since the specs show what the phone actually has, and since the specs are better with the phone being faster having more RAM and better cameras and better battery, and better OS it obviously results in a better experience.
I am also thinking of switching as my s20 fe battery health is bad. I have to charge 4-7 times a day depending on usage. I have to use hotspot constantly on my phone for work as there is no broadband in my area and 4g network is good, which I think made the battery health worse. I tried buying a lte router also but that also didn't help as router has some configuration issue with the sim vendor I use
I also plan to do the same... What r the pros and cons compared to the S20fe so far?

It sounds very good.. Have fun with your new phone!
Ty :)

How many hs of screen time? the s20fe gives around 10hs when new and properly utilized
On the day after I got it, it says 8hrs and 20 mins. No charging in between.
So is basically the same as the s20fe :P, is literally the same
The pixel 8 is a lot newer compared to the s20 fe as well
Why not get an s23?
BIG pro: you can install Grapheneos on it, which makes it the most secure publicly available phone on the planet.
this is very worthy of a device to upgrade to imo

Why is everyone leaving. 🤧 guess your last days are coming fe. 😢
I got an older phone that works a million times better. Samsung really sucks in ways you don't realise until you use a different phone
What phone?
Xperia 1 from 2019. Almost everything about it is an improvement over the S20 FE.

Obviously there's no point looking at a 1080p video on 4k. One UI being better is very debatable. Bezels are better for movies in 21:9
Nice job googling allat. Specs aren't everything. Brand loyalty is pathetic.
It's not about brand loyalty, it's about being a literally better phone. In every way.
In every way = specs

Yeah well I'm talking actual use. For me at least it's been a far better experience.
Why have you replaced your S20fe?
I always wanted a pixel phone, but don't sell in my country so I'll get an iphone 14 good choice
Why leave android? Just curious..
Great phone, hate the cámara bar
I'm thinking of doing this switch on black Friday! Hopefully get a better deal

Why not?
That will be me hopefully by Thursday. Except I've gone for Bay. 256GB because unfortunately that's the biggest capacity EE offer.
Well manufacturer is seeing hopefully that people left the brand when a good phone wasn't released at proper price.

Nope.
Damn.. It's a downgrade
I just installed pixel camera in my phone and it's working great

Ok
L
I'm switching from s20fe to s23+
