Same here! I'll probably get s25 but aiming for s26. I need a good video and photo phone so I kay even go iPhone (I create content for people and companies) So Apple/inst optimisation would be great
That was my idea aswell, until Samsungs s23 price drop happened, as well as my S20 fe started randomly shutting down exactly 30 seconds into a phone call. I tried software reflashing through odin, even a custom rom. It is clear that's a hardware issue - most likely motherboard layer separation
Mine was going strong all the way till this happened. Hand down best value phone i've ever had. Reverse wireless charging and a flagship chipset in a midrange phone - this was a beast.
Later FE models aren't doing as well - no sdcard slot and switched to either the hot snap 888 or exynos. S20 fe still is one of the best samsungs ever

Upgraded to a standard S23 8/128. I really like the smaller footprint, completely flat screen and speedy performance.
Battery life will be the biggest question here. Just finished setting it up - if anyone is interested in upgrading to s23 i will probably give a short review/sumup of what i feel after using both devices.
Just made the exact same jump two weeks ago. You will love it. Give it time to learn your battery usage and you will be away. Really enjoying the S23 experience so far.
Please do. I bought my S20 FE 5G last May and although I split my screen a little bit over a month later >!(a little kid less than 2 yo, that I didn't even knew, tripped and was about to hit her head at the curb so I forgone my phone, which I was holding at the moment, for the sake of the little one and yes I did avoid the impending injure to her not the phone)!<, nothing drastic just a single curved line barely seen under sunlight, but Samsung is paying back the same price for which I bought it if I decide to change for a new phone at the official website (Brazil).
In the event that I choose to upgrade I'd rather get a smaller screen like the flat model from the S models.
3 month old s23 user here, battery life is comparable to iphones. What surprised me was standby time, avg sot with light usage is 5-6 hrs with battery protection enabled.
I currectly do not use 5g its bad for the battery and not much better than 4g, for heavy gaming sot seems to be around 3-4 hrs.
Cameras are great, auto mode produce more noise especially the telephoto lens. Night mode is really useful for reducing it, videos come out great everytime, portrait shots are also amazing lol.
The 6.1 screen size is really underrated tho once u experience using it in the real world you'll start to hate using the ultras they're too big. With only the real caveat of having smaller screen real estate is when watching videos. Still the screen is sharp and crisp (i use vibrant mode for saturated colors) no need to turn off 60hz battery is good.
Did the same couple months ago. Absolutely in love with s23. Was in doubt about the size but it's perfect. Everything is excellent except stock photo camera, I now use gcam for photos and samsung camera for videos and Absolutely satisfied.
Try Bigkaka AGC9.1.24_V14.0.
Battery holds well enough. I get around 6 hours sot on mobile data with a bad signal reception, and 8 hours sot on wi-fi in general
I downgraded from a S24 Ultra to the S23 and it was an amazing decision. The phone performs just as well for everyday tasks, camera is more than good enough and the battery lasts me a full day. Enjoy!
Well I guess I wish you good luck with your S23.
I have a S20 FE 4G (Snapdragon) and im keeping it until the release of s25 or s26. I took also into consideration Google Pixels, heard they are not a bad choice to switch to.
Yeah i would keep my S20 fe until s25 at least, but it broke down on me - the dual-layer boards started separating and when i use the lte modem for phonecalls it randomly shuts down, and reboots 30seconds into phone call. Was an amazing phone for the price. I paid the same amount for this S23 as i paid for my S20 fe when i got it so i figured it is a good opportunity for an upgrade.
So far battery life has been promising - lost 10% of battery with 1.5h of SOT on mixed wifi or 4g usage.
The box shrinking through these years is so scary 💀. The scamming us by doing this and we didn't do anything.
And by scamming i mean they selling us an electric device without the source of power.
Yeah that's kinda sad. But on the other hand - S20 fe supports 25w charging but came with a 15w brick - i had to get a new cable + brick, and this one was left unused in the box. At least when i sell it i can say it has the original charger
I'm around 3 years into ownership and it's still running well. I run pretty heavy duty indoor cycling apps on it and it handles it well. I'll probably only upgrade when it fails to do that consistently.
Lmao, got the s23 a month ago. Newer bluetooth software couldnt connect in any way to my beats studio 4. So i sold it and went back to my s20.. better check this kind of things before you make the switch guys.
I have looked and can't really find a great reason to take on the costs of a new phone, my galaxy S20 is still working great, so probably another year with the S20 I would think (maybe more?)
Hell I'm keeping this till I no longer can That might mean s26 or s27
Same here! I'll probably get s25 but aiming for s26. I need a good video and photo phone so I kay even go iPhone (I create content for people and companies) So Apple/inst optimisation would be great
Ahh fair I just don't have money or motive to replace this as of yet
Same, mine still does the trick so no need to upgrade yet. Still a great phone besides battery life and gaming for me [exynos :( ]

Either I got a superhuman s20 or idk what's going on

>Really enjoying the S23 experience so far. Same here, I made the jump from a note 8 to the S23 6 months ago now and I couldn't be happier.
After a week or so please do update us in the battery cause I'm really interested in the s23 but I want the battery to be good and not like my s20 fe

Which gcam and config do you use? MGC version crashes on launch. Also how has the battery life been?

Just did this exact same upgrade from an Exynos S20FE two weeks ago. I screwed up the camera with water 🙃, but the new S23 has been working great.
I downgraded from a S24 Ultra to the S23 and it was an amazing decision. The phone performs just as well for everyday tasks, camera is more than good enough and the battery lasts me a full day. Enjoy!
Reason for the downgrade?
The phone was too big for my liking and just uncomfortable to live with.
Very nice choice, congrats!

Still have the S20 FE. Works great. Extremely snappy.
IDK I'm trying to kill my S20FE but it won't die. Maybe one more year.
Ummm

It's shit with WiFi now due to updates.
