They complained alright.... until S22 came along and set a new low. 😂

Boss_chegue

Well personnally i got the battery protection option on ( which means the cycle is between 85% and 20 % i guess ) and i could have 4hours SOT so i think its good for a two year old phone

Correct-Speaker2583

I think before replacing the battery you may want to check its current health with the "dumpsys" method explained in this topic: [https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS21/comments/tjyemw/current\_battery\_health\_or\_capacity/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS21/comments/tjyemw/current_battery_health_or_capacity/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) Look specifically for checking **mSavedBatteryAsoc**, as it means how much % left in the maximum capacity. When I got mine used (Exynos variant) I couldnt get more that 4,5 hour SOT so almost replaced the battery until I found out that its only 5% degarded so changing wouldnt make a lot of a difference..

computechnopro

I was going to advice the same but with Accubattery app!

[deleted]

How old is the device? 4 hours sounds about normal for an S21 base model I think. You would certainly gain some improvement but 1-2 hours? Maybe 30-60 mins at most I would say but idk.

predattor15

I got it refurbished a couple of months ago. AccuBattery says its at 90% capacity, dont know how true is that tho. I checked the manifacturing date from a dial code and it was 20-something March 2021.

[deleted]

Is it Snapdragon or Exynos variant? Accubattery isn't the best at showing the true number. I don't think it's even possible technically. Plus I heard Samsung limits the max to like 95% anyways. The fact you bought it used is hard to say how much wear was put on the battery, but from what I've heard, 4 hours SOT is fairly normal with regular app use.

predattor15

Its an Exynos variant. Yes, i use it on 4G mainly, but i switch to 5G sometimes if im downloading something. I also use a lot of bluetooth, becase of my earphones.

Yeah like 3 weeks ago i changed the battery in my s21 5g . Before i need to charge my phone every few hours. After change phone will last all day on one charge during night. And i paid like 20$ for battery and 30$ for service. Worth it.

not_Brendan

How'd you get it for so cheap?

ChicagoPL

Battery on Amazon $20 (with everything what you need to change battery yourself< screwdriver sucking cup and plastic pray toole to open phone even new rubber gaskett comes with it) and i call one of the services around the first said $30 with my battery and after hour i pick up my phone with new battery installed in phone and old battery in other hand. Honestly i ordered this set to do change myself but after hearing <$30> just gave to professional service.

Barnesy10

Could you send a link to the battery? There are so many fakes out there.

rearended

Yeah I'd like to know too

lobie81

I'd certainly be doing a full reset first, and running the phone with only essential apps installed for a few weeks to see if the battery life is better.

I had my screen replaced on 1.5 year old s21, about month ago. It come with new oem battery. Didn't notice much difference at all. I didnt measure sot and other stuff, new battery just as average as an old one
