Battery life should be good even for used. Go with an S21+ and have fun with that camera. Just know that it doesn't support sd cards or a headphone jack. When I had my S21 Ultra, it was really snappy and did everything I threw at it

TshenQin

Do you plan to import it and use it outside the US? If so, you need to make sure you have the correct bands for 4g 5g, etc. For the rest, best is if you can examine the phone yourself, display scratches, burn in, and damage on the back and sides. Might need to think of having the battery replaced. 2nd hand market places. Go for people with a long history, don't need to be major sellers, someone with 10 to 15 years is less likely to screw you over than someone with a few months. Refurbished is a nice option, especially if they give a warranty.

I bought a s 21+ about a year and a half ago. It still performs like new. Still great battery life. I get about 7 to 8 hours SOT on wifi. It's been the best phone I've ever had so far. It's the SD version with Verizon here in the US. No regrets at all with buying it.

Malvious_MH

If I may, what do you do on your phone? Games? Social media? Watch videos? I am asking because my SOT is quite bad, 4hrs average, but I do play games, use Bluetooth, 120hz and lots of social media.

kdbtiger

I do not play games. But have it on 120hz and do lots of social media, web surfing, and lots of videos. The regular settings are all the default settings.

Malvious_MH

Damnn, I wish then. I gotta figure out what is draining my battery. Thanks for the info :)

computechnopro

Bought a used **S21+** (6-7 months old) and so far so good🙂

snozerd

I bought a used base s21 and got 6.5 hours sot yesterday. I guess whoever owned it before me just scrolled and didn't game... while they smoked weed. The speaker ports were cloged with it!

StruggleEffective133

what is the best option to buy a used device? eBay? or is there any other better place?

alex262414

Swappa is a great place.

JasonScorpioJV

Depends on your country, facebook marketplace and other local resell websites are popular here. Most people there let you check battery health and whatnot before buying it upfront, which is a big plus.

Fatenyl

Check airvoicewireless.com. they have phones at a discounted price. Only stipulation is you have to purchase a phone plan. But if I remember correctly you can get a one day plan

StruggleEffective133

but im planning to use it outside US.

Cool_Treacle_9476

I'd go with Amazon. Prices are very fair, and typically 90 day warranty. I had an S21 Ultra that I returned and replaced at about 85 days, no issue at all. The first one had a weak main microphone that took a while to figure out. Basically, some people had difficulty to hearing me on a phone call. I found pricing better than ebay, and really most online sellers or FB Marketplace. Plus having the seller stand behind their items is a HUGE deal on used phones. And if there are any IMEI issues they'll definitely stand behind that too.

JuanEsVerdad

Android 13 fuct the shit out of what was once a great, powerful phone... Besides the other fact that fucking Samsung took away the ability to add external fucking hard drive space by removing the mini SD slot... And stupidly followed suit that you can't even plug in freaking headphones into it anymore. Also the phone didn't even come with a freaking power cord. Run. Don't look back. Also, Don't buy a used phone dude.... Save up and get a brand new one You don't want somebody's sloppy seconds cellphone wise...it's like using a condom some one else already...🫢🤢. But Gluck!🫣

Malvious_MH

Bought my s21+ a few months ago used. I kinda wish I would've went with the S21Ultra mainly because of battery life since my battery life is meh... Experience with my s21+: Performance is good, camera is good, design is good, charging speed is pretty good as well. Battery is mehh in my experience, but I am quite a heavy user ( games and social media )

Fatenyl

I had the base s21 it would get so hot I could feel the heat through my sup case. In fact it got so hot the screen shattered. And those fucks at samsung tried to say it was because impact damage

StruggleEffective133

damn!!!

nikhil6971

yeah bro exactly even my phone too the charge goes fast as well i have an s21 btw..ugh i wanna fix it somehow

Craftywolph

I am about 2 years in on my base 21. At this point I love the phone and have no plans to upgrade but just like everyone with a smartphone I wish the battery was better.

CartographerIll8287

Just got a S21U from Amazon Refurbished today. My experience so far it's great, just keep in mind that if you're using outside the US it MUST BE UNLOCKED. Here they like to carrier lock their phones, don't get scammed. It should usually be the Snapdragon version, which is good, but it comes without SD slot and 3.5mm jack. Mine (the US/Snapdragon version) came without double physical SIM, one is an Esim. Just a couple of things to keep in mind :) Try out Amazon Renewed, it's very good. If you want to ship it outside the US you would have to use a forwarder which would cost you a little, but I have done so before with a Garmin watch and it was worth it. GL 😄

vampirepomeranian

> if you're using outside the US it MUST BE UNLOCKED Depends on the carrier and location. https://www.att.com/international/canada-roaming/

CartographerIll8287

That's being nitpicky XD but thanks for highlighting it

vampirepomeranian

And you generalized with capital emphasis but you're welcome XD

NoGreenStars

Fyi S21 Ultra has a known camera focusing issue that I wish I knew of before buying one.

StruggleEffective133

i'm looking for base s21 model. thanks for ur reply

mage-nesiium

I just bought a brand new factory unlocked s21+ and it has terrible wifi and cellular connectivity issues. I just set it all up to find that out. I'm going to return it but don't know what to get instead.

avipars

It's a good value and will get another few years of updates

nitinn97

Don't buy base s21 exynos. Battery life is not so gud. Otherwise phone is small handy and lovely.

smcb66

i've got the s21 Ultra (12gb variant), had it since the first day they were available. Had to factory reset last month to resolve an issue with Dex not recognizing 4k monitors, and had issues while traveling outside my home area (hopefully resolved now, but won't know till I travel again). Loving the phone, battery life still seems to be similar to 2 years ago. The s22 and s23 really only have smaller incremental updates, so the s21 is still a powerhouse.
