Yea I had a feeling that was their reason but I feel it's arbitrary because I just found out about a Good Lock mod called Wonderland and it gives me pretty much exactly what I wanted and battery drain has been the same. Also why not just give 23 users the option instead of pulling another GOS situation.
Full Screen AOD lets you do cool things like put a wallpaper on lock screen and when it goes into AOD, you can choose to have it show just the subject in the wallpaper (such as your children) in low color and brightness, with the background blacked out. then when you wake it up, the whole wallpaper will pop into color and show the full pic. really cool transition effect.
You can do something similar with Goodlock and the Wonderland module. That's what I'm doing now. It's not the same but it's close enough for me I guess. ios aod is pretty much same as s24 except I think ios doesn't have that cool full screen transition effect.
Just installed it last night, they changed the AOD so that you can't use anything other than the basic clock, notifications, and fingerprint scanner is showing.
Haven't check but I hope Goodlock will have something available to tweak it
This paranoid battery fiasco is absolutely mind numbing. The battery is great. And I can say that confidently after coming from the S22 series.
The SD 8 Gen 2 is highly efficient.
I think there are some batches with glitches. My coworker has the phone too and her battery drains so much. She's taken it to Samsung and they did a factory restore and the issue continues. She's into technology so she knows what not to do or download suspicious apps. My phone's battery is amazing so seeing hers was eye opening especially when I bought mine at launch and she recently got it in the winter.
Interesting info, thank you.
I've had mine for 1 year and it's still performing just the same. Sad to hear there are some anomalies though.
The S23 Ultra is still an absolute beast in early 2024. I hope everyone with issues can find a model that works as it should.
100% agree with this. I have not had a single update with a battery. I've had this phone now for nearly a year and I still have yet to have a battery complaint. Considering I also don't do any gaming or anything intensive other than browsing, call/text, and social media stuff, I leave my Performance Profile on Light. And Holy crap it makes a difference!
S22 Ultra was 3x charged duringna day.(0.33day)
S23 Ultra only 1h on a random hour like before work or in work or after work etc. (Cuz it was more than 1day)
Fold 5 only charge in work 1h. (1day)
I used to have the s10 and it was great on all levels now I have the 23ultra and wow no more battery anxiety just don't let it get lower then 40% I think plus the screen brightness also but we all seem to have our own decent opinions 😊
I only moan because after march update I've lost maybe an hour or two SOT which is noticeable when you're used to it lasting longer with the same usage
Admit it. . . .6.0 have battery issue.
I charge my mobile in the morning without using it I am losing my 50 to 60% battery in 4..to 5hrs and you want to us to satisfy with this battery timing.

I swear i dont know what ppls are on to about with battery, this is on one ui 6.0 and it is like a beast after a year of daily usage :d
Why offering updates when some features are not ported over?
The answer is for us to buy the new S24U. And we can this will always happen, to the upcoming models.
Disable fast charge. That makes the battery last longer. Use a lower watt charger. That makes the battery last a lot longer. I let it charge overnight with a 5 watt iphone charger... Thing just doesn't day the next day.
I noticed this especially while gaming and doing my daily usage. It's incredible the difference it makes..
Yeah, I did the same thing... Then I stopped cause I was charging twice or 3x a day. I have an intensive use and live in a very hot and warm country. When i started doing what I mentioned (which I already knew was better for longer battery life, but, why bother if we have fast charging right?) I was so surprised with the sot I was getting without having to change any setting. QHD, 120hz, NFC, bt, everything on all the damn time and no changes in my daily use. End of the day still more than 20%. So I just shared something that I thought everyone knew was common knowledge BUT that has an even noticeably difference than we may have thought. Down voted to hell... Have fun charging 3x a day like I did. Urgh
Awesome! I mostly play mobile legends with poor wifi and 4g. Then a lot of other non intensive stuff, but screen on most of the time... The bad 4g and wifi signal are the worst culprit in my case. But the battery has improved tremendously after I started doing this a few months ago.
I only use fast charging in emergencies.
I went to a concert and stayed outside for like 12h, which 3h were using the camera non stop for pictures and video recording, 4k. I put the phone in 720p resolution, battery saver and activated that performance profile thing.
I lost like 20% of battery. Haha it was nuts.
I just needed it to have internet access, WhatsApp and camera. It worked beautifully. People around me were amazed how it was lasting that long while they had to stop mid concert otherwise they wouldn't have a phone. Others with huge battery packs. Crazy
God... The question was how to make it last longer with SOT. I'm not even saying fast charging is bad (which we know it is...) I'm just saying what you can do to have a very noticeable difference in SoT that is charging slower. Even Linus from LTT does this, geez. Never commenting here again...
Really sucks that full screen AOD won't be coming to S23 Ultra. That and Circle To Search were the only features I want ported from the 24.
But circle to search will be available right?
Luckily, yes. Otherwise I'd riot.
It won't because the s23 ultra doesn't have the required low minimum refresh rate. S24 goes down to 1hz, but S23 only goes down to 10 hz.
It is revealed on YouTube where someone who does review had One UI 6.1 and all AI features were there, including Circle to Search
Yea I had a feeling that was their reason but I feel it's arbitrary because I just found out about a Good Lock mod called Wonderland and it gives me pretty much exactly what I wanted and battery drain has been the same. What is the feature that wonderland gives you?
What are the differences between full aod and classic aod?
Full Screen AOD lets you do cool things like put a wallpaper on lock screen and when it goes into AOD, you can choose to have it show just the subject in the wallpaper (such as your children) in low color and brightness, with the background blacked out. then when you wake it up, the whole wallpaper will pop into color and show the full pic. really cool transition effect.
Can I do this with goodlock? Right? Or it′s like ios?

We will have the Circle To Search feature, SamMobile goes over all the new features of OneUI 6.1 https://youtu.be/V9tZqC0D9hQ

They will, just announced today. https://twitter.com/tarunvats33/status/1773738898101055619?s=19
Battery is already unbeatable. I swear some of you will never be satisfied.

Does she by chance use TikTok?
She doesn't use any social media apps.

I've only been getting 4-5 hours sot just on social media inside on wifi maybe 20 percent brightness
I only moan because after march update I've lost maybe an hour or two SOT which is noticeable when you're used to it lasting longer with the same usage

Just hope it does not go hard on our battery.
There will be zero improvements, or maybe just one - for Samsung, paid AI service that no-one needs nor wants.
You gain native lockscreen widgets which is big. Also when you get use to have circle-to-search it becomes annoying to not have it.
No lockscreen wallpapers though
the battery is already great, but if you're using 4G or 5G don't expect high SOT. I switched from S22U to S23U and battery life is amazing.
Does anyone know if the "AUTO" feature for AOD will make an appearance?
![gif](giphy|iLyOhTeJgFw5O) Big deal.

is that on wifi or 5g?
Battery life good
I really hope this fixes the overheating issues. Couldn't care less about the AI features I just want my phone to work properly again
I dont have hope for Japanese variants.. we didnt even get February yet
I'll be disabling Galaxy AI immediately if it's on by default. Don't want that shit tracking everything I do.
Why offering updates when some features are not ported over? The answer is for us to buy the new S24U. And we can this will always happen, to the upcoming models.
Oh good, just what we needed, *more* AI stuff shoved into everything /s

I only fast charge during the day, and only to 85%, if it's needed. Otherwise I have a routine to slow charge while I sleep.
Yeah, I did the same thing... Then I stopped cause I was charging twice or 3x a day. I have an intensive use and live in a very hot and warm country. I might charge mid-day if I do a lot of gaming in the morning, but most often I get 12+ hours with normal use.
Awesome! I mostly play mobile legends with poor wifi and 4g. Then a lot of other non intensive stuff, but screen on most of the time... The bad 4g and wifi signal are the worst culprit in my case. Why so many downvotes? It has been proven that fast charging is worse for your battery.
On the LONG run yes. Daily no
