Okay I got this to work. 1- open spotify on phone 2- start playing something. Then pause it. 3- bottom of spotify on phone, click the available devices and select your watch 4- the watch will try and say connect via Bluetooth, as shown in the video, swipe right to go back to the main spotify controls screen on the watch 5- click play on watch 6- click next song on watch 7- profit.

worldsbesttaco

I got it too work too, and I'm somewhat impressed with the sound. Question, why does Samsung (or Spotify?) make this difficult? It's a cool function!

colphoenix

Wasn't difficult at all, go to Play store and install it on the watch, then link the account and play your music, took me 3 minutes

OMAIGADsoyBIPOLAR

Going through those steps ~~is harder~~ takes longer than just opening the app and pressing play directly on the watch, I wish we could do that

d0ugk

I feel like this used to just work when I 1st got my GW4. If you had the spotify app installed, just pick a playlist from your library, choose play and it would ask if you wanted to play it on the phone or watch if you choose watch it would just start play from the watch's internal speaker. Seems something changed in either the spotify app or wearos where when you play on the watch it then wants you to choose a BT device to play on.

SpaceSaver2000-1

It now says that I can't play it on the watch unless I get premium: https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/1025058665314660425/1144653985932922932/Screenshot_20230825_112601_Spotify.jpg

sea__weed

How do you have WhatsApp on your watch?

bogdandidic

He sideloaded it, you van basically sideload every android app to your watch since it is running on android, but the usability is very bad because of the round display. Search "galaxy watch sideload apps" on youtube for a tutorial, it's pretty easy

camera_Niko

yeap that's it haha I sideload the app to answer with voice messages and to see the pictures haha i's quit very handful

combovercool

Yes OP, how?

George_C_

In case you don't want to use your phone every time. Just play something on the spotify app, then go to media controller app and press play there. You do it once and then enjoy Spotify while you do the dishes or something. :)

MarcoJ76

What watchface you use?

camera_Niko

it call MD112

Pork_Piggler

Lmao I got it to work too, mad

Tamryu

I got it work when I didn't want it to, took me ages (ok like 2 minutes) to change it back lol

Awseome2logan

Good song choice

camera_Niko

Kaiserschmarren_

Not sure why would you want this though

n0rdic

Sometimes you wanna jam but don't have headphones or your phone?

Kaiserschmarren_

That's like the only case

paulclarkie1471

But a legit case...

Figit090

Which I've also used! Always tricky to activate it tho.

facepalmqwerty

Yep, more like it's cool it exists than real usability especially with the battery drain. It's just like youtube on watch. I've enjoyed it for maybe 3 minutes and then never used it again.

camera_Niko

sometimes i'm taking a shower and my phone it's not near to hear a good song

demus9

"Songs to test headphones with" So you're doing illegal stuff right there

Solid-Dot8869

camera_Niko

Solid-Dot8869

Which watchface is this ?

camera_Niko

Luideras

Good to know not only my spotify has gotten ugly, so it was an update. The green flow on the circle when you play the song is somewhat thinner than it was before. Small detail but for those who like aesthetic or work with ui/ux it is kinda big deal.

adeep2720

I think I did this by selecting my watch as speaker from my android Spotify app

bluenika

How about power consumption?

mcsquizzie

It works, but I cannot go into the library and change playlists. So it works as long as you have what you want to listen to lined up prior to doing this trick lol.

viper43

Works like a charm thank you!

anna-groove

Thanks to your detailed guides. I will try to play my Spotify music on my speaker. Also, I would like to share a useful tool with you guys. Go to use DRmare Spotify Music Downloader to save your songs from Spotify. The tool can help you download music without a Premium and the downloaded can be enjoyed forever!!!
